Ok, Lightning Emotors is essentially bust. Stock is nearly zero at this time of writing and I lost money because of it. Whose fault is that? Mine of course. I hope that the CEO and his admins have a horrible life hereafter...No more EV stocks for me besides Tesla. Rivian is also at a loss for me (I am stuck with this sucker), only Tesla has been giving me gold coins. I am good, I invest in stocks that give me a good return whatever the environmental outcome is. I am no longer investing with my heart, only with my head.
There are inverters for AC-to-DC conversion too. After all, that's what happens in our vehicles when regenerative braking happens: the motor becomes an AC generator, and the traction inverter converts the AC electricity to DC for charging the batteries. A simple rectifier in a DC Fast Charger wouldn't really work because it can't control the DC output voltage. A DC charger needs to be able to adjust the voltage to (a) suit the voltage specs of the vehicle it's charging, and (b) adjust correctly for the batteries' state of charge, so the voltage actually changes during a charging session. An inverter is a complex, CPU-controlled device which can do all of this; a rectifier wouldn't be able to. You're right, though, that the inverters that most people are familiar with convert DC to AC, such as when you've got solar panels on your roof.
One of the worst investments. It has not been that long since the Reverse split - somewhere in the first quarter 20:1. Within 6 months back to square one $8 to (64 cents). As a bonus to the investors got delisted from NYSE.
Your vehicles are far from zero emissions, the emissions used in mining the raw materials for the battery alone far exceed the emissions produced by a well built and engineered internal combustion powered vehicle during its lifespan, and that doesn't take in the "dirty" energy used in producing the rest of the vehicle or charging the EV during its very short (in comparison to IC vehicles) lifespan. EVs are a very big scam.
Update: On September 18th of 2023, ZEV was delisted from NYSE. CEO may know where there is stackable funding, he just doesn't know how to make his company make the products to sell and collect on the funding by the government. He's good at leaving money on the table.
Lightning eMotors, Inc. announced that it received a notice (the “Notice”) from the New York Stock Exchange (the “NYSE”) on August 29, 2023 indicating that the Company is not in compliance with Section 802.01B of the NYSE listed company manual because the Company’s average global market capitalization over a consecutive 30 trading-day period was less than $50 million and, at the same time, the Company’s last reported stockholders’ equity was less than $50 million. The Notice has no immediate effect on the listing of the Company’s common stock on the NYSE, subject to the Company’s compliance with the NYSE’s other continued listing requirements. What they do in Loveland Colorado is exhibit an inability to deliver: Lightning eMotors, Inc. announced that it received a notice (the “Notice”) from the New York Stock Exchange (the “NYSE”) on August 29, 2023 indicating that the Company is not in compliance with Section 802.01B of the NYSE listed company manual because the Company’s average global market capitalization over a consecutive 30 trading-day period was less than $50 million and, at the same time, the Company’s last reported stockholders’ equity was less than $50 million. Sadly Tim Reeser is a poor CEO: More talk than substance. He can't execute: Lightning eMotors, Inc. announced that it received a notice (the “Notice”) from the New York Stock Exchange (the “NYSE”) on August 29, 2023 indicating that the Company is not in compliance with Section 802.01B of the NYSE listed company manual because the Company’s average global market capitalization over a consecutive 30 trading-day period was less than $50 million and, at the same time, the Company’s last reported stockholders’ equity was less than $50 million. Thanks! The screen on the side of the Lightning Mobile charger is a touch screen. However, the digital dashboard isn't - we don't want the driver reaching through the steering wheel while he or she is driving! :) But yes, software is arguably the most sophisticated piece of our EV engineering, and not just for the dashboard.
They sold investors on the idea that they had major customers like Coca-Cola and the state of California and were scaling up to meet demand. Those were lies. I do think it's a good company with a good product, but it has no business being publicly traded. Their CEO saw an opportunity to grab cash with the SPAC craze and he took it. I'm out a few thousand on $ZEV, but net positive on the 2020 SPACs, so whatever.
There's a lot of federal money for electric school buses right now: the EPA Clean School Bus program, and the Inflation Reduction Act. Not to mention some states have valuable incentives too, such as Colorado and California. In many cases, these buses can be almost free to school districts!
Can you guys explain why Tim Reeser, started blocking his long term shareholders everywhere in social media. Shareholders deserve explanation. The stock tanked 95% from all time high. All promises he made during the spac days are just a myth. Hopefully he regain trust from investors....
Coal is the worst form of electrical generation fuel in terms of CO2 emissions. Natural gas power stations are much better. They emit about half the CO2 for the same electrical energy generated. group.met.com/en/mind-the-fyouture/mindthefyouture/natural-gas-vs-coal
That's so right, except nobody mentions about it , except you , every one has just 2 things in range and capacity, thank you for bringing this up !! 👍👍
Great little catch up on the efficiency of evs and electric motors . Just wish every person could see this and the implications it has for the clean renewable conversion of the worlds transport and energy needs . The tide is turning no doubt about it , but it would be helpful if more came on board and we make this change even quicker .
most excellent RU-vid video i have seen for awhile! Since learning Rivian Cargo vans are Amazon Prime fleet$ in the making, it's great to learn Lightning is converting DHL Ford Transits, the way i thought EV West was doing. Indeed, your doing a lot more business in Loveland! My present challenge is to try to rent an electric U-Haul, and to tow cargo cross country, been looking at Ford's Lightning which are sold out now, so thought i would convert a Transit van using Mach-e motors, but that turned out to be a bad idea. I could possibly buy an LS-218 & end up renting a crummy U-Haul... what is the range on the LS, please?
I really wanna know how to be a salesman for EVs. From a clerical experienced person. I wanna change careers from Pension Processor to EV sales. I love the topic, I love the movement I wanna change careers. Please please make a podcast about how to work for you guys, how to sell, how to plan out education or college. How at 40years old, is it worth it to become an electrician for EVs.
Please. I'm sure there are many 30 something's that cannot work for Tesla but will be as happy as working for Lightning E motors, or Lion Electric. Please cover that in podcast, of who in your human resource what type of people do you guys need!!!!!! Former ICE mechanics, or are all people in your shop Electrical Engineers, do you want people selling your Package, from Additions to Fleets sales are from ICE Dealers that have bad habits that sell your EV's????
04/03/2023 Monday. Today's Close was ZEV : $0.28 cents per share. What is going on? I see a buying opportunity. Can the CEO allow RU-vidr or his media folks capture a video of their factory.
We are indeed planning to make a "factory tour" video. In the meantime, our Smart Manufacturing video shows you inside our factory. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TTJryY5VePk.html
