I grew up racing motocross, and when I was 14 I saw a show called Long Way Round. Ever since then I've been fascinated with travel and adventure. I'm here to show you some amazing places to ride your motorcycle, or to take your OHV and explore places that most people never get the chance to see. Wether you like finding the best twisty asphalt to the most scenic back country trail you'll find something here to get inspired to get out on your next adventure.
Right off highway 180. It’s forest road 417 or something like that. I can’t remember the number exactly but it runs from 180 all the way to 89 north of flag
I noticed inside your cab you have three interior lights. I have the 2024 in blue. It came with only the front interior light. Did you purchase separately or did they come with the unit? I want to know if I need to talk to my dealer. Thanks and great video!
Hey! I purchased them separately. They are easy to instill, they plug into the light harness that goes to the front light that was installed at the factory.
Yes it is a great machine. You just have to have the use for it. I like trail riding but I’m not a rally racer. I need the five seats and it’s like driving a heavily modified jeep. My family goes camping with it and over landing. It suits its purpose wonderfully. My only gripe is they didn’t do a great job sealing the cab. Having a fully enclosed cab it does pull dust it more than if you had the open cab. There are ways to seal it up better but it takes time to find where the leaks are
@@losthighways42 gotcha. We’re definitely looking at buying one,…a new one for $50k or a used one with 1.3k miles for $40k. Obviously it’s all negotiable,…but those are the initial numbers that we were given from the dealer.
I have the FP4 and when I hit apply it says the engine needs to be off, when I hit the kill switch the FP4 shuts off and I pretty much lose the green squares.
I did an outerwear zip tied to the front snorkel. After mud and water crossings the bike went limp mode. I took the cover off and it was back to normal. Experimented a few times with it and the bike hates it. This was during the Colorado BDR so higher elevations, dust, and mud. Took the rain sock off each time and it ripped. The air box is a terrible design
Polaris offers a different clutch kit at no charge. It quiets it down and lowers rpm’s at cruising speeds. It’s free. Dealer installs it free. So spending money on this is a total waste. Also 900 miles 80% nothing but dirt roads rest paved. I drive this like it’s my daily driver. Grocery store, post office, everywhere I go. Zero dust in the rear. Zero. Water and air tight. My windshield leaked on passenger side but it was an easy fix. Doors leak when I pressure wash, but not during daily use. Windshield leak was a super easy fix. Found that there was just a piece of factory weatherstripping folded in half. I straightened it out reclosed the windshield and no leak. I have always been a huge critic of Polaris. Yamaha is great. Polaris is junk. My opinion on all 17 sxs I’ve owned on the last 6-7 years. Trash build quality on the rangers. Just trash. And I own a 2024 Texas edition Ranger for work on my property. It’s a piece of crap. From 15 years ago till now I’ve owned a lot of sxs. Polaris and yamaha. This is not a ranger. At all. Great build quality. I mean great. Trans still sucks as it’s standard Polaris clunky slipping junk, but it can be fixed pretty cheap. Yamaha is still better from the factory in every possible way but they make nothing to compete with this. Do a clutch kit some sound deadening and you’ll love this machine.
Well if you don’t want to drive down dirt with your truck silverton lakes is a great place but they will charge you a fee. If you drive down to the townsite of eureka cross the bridge and you’ll see a big pull out area on your left and that’s a great free spot!
Well the main area thats a problem is where the hinge for the rear seat to fold down is. if you look in there you can see strait out to the rear wheel on both sides. The other part is if you look right behind the rear seat where the "bed" starts you can look down between that and the rear window and see the ground. and lastly all the hinges where the door latches grab on to if you take the plate off they are all open to the skid plate. Here in the near future I'll make a quick video to show these places.
@@user-zt2gf3gd9dI have owned several Polaris models and have experienced few if any major issues. I don’t know where you are getting your information from.
Mine has 1500 and still performs as good as new with the clutch kit Polaris offers for free. My ranger 2019 xp 1000 has 26,000 miles and other than a primary rebuild 3-4 times is stock. That’s about $90 each time. I think you’re wrong. And I hate Polaris. I’m die hard Yamaha. But these aren’t to bad. Yamaha quality. Hell no. But not bad.
At 4:48 in the video, is that a freaking mountain lion darting out from the left? Sweet video, would love to see more content with this rig, you got my sub
Thank you. Question - I just got a 2023 Road glide Standard. I want to use this tuner for a 2 into 1 Bassani and Hight flow air cleaner. Will it work for that bike? I am not going for any performance upgrades outside of that. Just the pipe and air cleaner (and suspension). Thanks a lot. I am well qualified to do the install also. Have a great one and great video. \ Mike
I appreciate your mention of the US Army 7th Division training at Goffs during WW2, my father trained there as has some photos. They were training for deployment in Africa (hence desert), quite the surprise when they sailed out of the Golden Gate and learned their orders were for Attu, Alaska! Okinawa was a big deal for the 7th, no less so Attu, Kwajalein and Leyte. My Dad got a Purple Heart in Okinawa when the troop ship he was on was hit by a kamikaze. He was in the 7th Div. Reconnaissance Troop.
Wow, great skills on a big bike. I've only done short (easy) sections of the TET myself while camping on a Pan America after taking an offroad course. Then I put the stock street tires back on until next time, because I hope I'm realistic about how much offroad I'm really going to do.
They are great all around bikes. They are like riding a Cadillac on the street and more off-road capable than the BMW in the dirt. Hope you enjoy your pan-am
Hey, yeah I used a ram mount custom fitted to work with the sissy bar. You’ll have to get a smaller clamp to fit the sissy bar than what comes with it. Thanks for watching the video!
Great job of putting the video together! I have done the CABDR twice now on my 890 and wondered how a big bike would do in the sand section. You are a strong guy! Picked that thing up like nothing! Love the drone footage too!
I’ve had the HD passage gear set originally but after a while came to decide the jacket was to bulky. I went to a Klim set and found it a lot more comfortable, less bulky, and better ventilated. I’d take a look at Klim I’ve worn they’re gear a lot and had a bad accident wearing their stuff and walked away without a scratch.
It all depends on where you live. If you live in Nevada the northern parts I’ve heard are very scenic and fun to ride, the southern couple of sections will be getting pretty hot and the sand will be harder to ride. I do know we are going to be revamping some of the Route this fall so be on the look for some route changes at ridebdr.com
Hey, so unfortunately there is no rain sock for this particular model. But Ive used one of the rain socks from the filters that are tapered through Harley pn 28728-10 and it stays on just fine.
Did you retune the bike ? I just installed this on my fxlrs last night. I previously had a tune on my stock ventilator. Everything ran fine after going for a ride but when I shut her done there was a lot of knocking throughout the pipes and maybe engine that lasted a few minutes. Not sure if that was normal or not. Thanks for sharing your install it helped me out. I put a video up on my page if you want to hear the sounds I’m talking about.
