Verse 1] I've been walking in the same way as I did Missing out the cracks in the pavement And tutting my heel and strutting my feet "Is there anything I can do for you dear?" "Is there anyone I could call?" "No and thank you, please madame I ain't lost, just wandering" [Chorus] Round my hometown Memories are fresh Round my hometown Ooh, the people I've met Are the wonders of my world Are the wonders of my world Are the wonders of this world Are the wonders now [Verse 2] I like it in the city When the air is so thick and opaque I love it to see everybody in short skirts, shorts and shades I like it in the city when two worlds collide You get the people and the government Everybody taking different sides Refrain] Shows that we ain't gonna stand shit Shows that we are united Shows that we ain't gonna take it Shows that we ain't gonna stand shit Shows that we are united [Chorus] Round my hometown Memories are fresh Round my hometown Ooh, the people I've met, yeah [Outro] Doo-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-dah, yeah Doo-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-dah, yeah Doo-doo-doo-doo ooh-ooh yeah Yeah, yeah-ey Are the wonders of my world Are the wonders of my world Are the wonders of this world Are the wonders of my world Of my world Yeah, of my world Of my world, yeah
I got back into playing guitar just to try to play his songs. When I started a year ago I could barely play them, now I can play and sing a lot of them. I recently just learned this one.
wow, just amazing. Adele doing this in a Southampton pub, solo and acoustic is really good (worth a listen) and Dallas kinda emulated the vocal style here. He's the best guy out there just now, nobody is doing what he's doing and he's overlooked like fuck.
I would love to hear him cover a song by one of my other favorites of all time, a tribute to the late great Chris Cornell. This has always been my favorite thing in music. Singer/songwriters who, simply with one voice and acoustic guitar, can captivate the masses. Dallas is definitely one of those. As was the incomparable Chris Cornell who if you were ever blessed by hearing his solo acoustic stuff, was amazing. I don't see how you can compare some of these people, they are all amazing in their own right. Listen to Chris Stapleton also. If you have something against country music, which I did until I heard Stapleton, just forget what "genre" it is classified as and just listen. What a voice! I could go on and on. I Hope Dallas keeps going for a very long time to come. he is one of the greats for sure.
