1:29 Have you considered 2mm foam squares ? Amazon 9"X12" Black 2mm foam sheet. You could easily hide the track for street running. Just a thought. 3:01 thank you for your service to our nation.
Yes ! Love the scale house at 1:45. 3:18 another modeler used boxcar ends as a fence around his scrap yard. I thought it was genius, lol. Gonna do that too. 3:48 Great detail idea. Thank you Bob for sharing.
@@ModelingSteelinHO I'm considering the boxcar fencing. Will be looking for broken old road names as I shop around the hobby store and train shows. Can't seem to trash nicer ones. Thanks!
LOL 4:06 . Fact. Like the switch box scene.Genius level thinking. 5:50 Walther's makes a great scale kit but if you scratch build. Should be pretty easy. Beautiful layout.
hi bob... nice pike !!! question... do you have a diesel service facility as i did not see one. really nice layout !!! it seems like we always see these exceptionally clean pikes that do not have a speck of dirt/filth/grime anywhere, which is really unreal !!! i model just like you, which is much more prototypical !!! nice work. bob !!!being retired now, i believe our style of scenery/design is the only way to go... much more believable !!! EXCELLENT !!!
11:03 That's what I really love about your layout, My dad did layouts like this with me when I was young because he was a trucker and I became a trucker as well. We live in Central Florida, and a town called Taft was very similar with rail yards right alongside of the trucking terminals. And going on runs with them since I was a child until I could actually get my restricted CDL and drive with him, we would constantly see these beautiful landscapes of the shipping industry by rail and truck. Thank you for sharing this, at 51 I may do a similar layout. I wish my dad was here to see this channel.
I am 53 years old and I grew up the same way with my dad but we weren't truckers .... My dad loved point to point That's why I decided to change the layout and it fits in the room better
