Possible Content I may post is How to, gaming, digital paintings, traditional art, possibly even sculpting in hopefully the near future.
Most of my artworks however for one reason, or another. Have always been a emotional endeavor. Hence the name Pain Studios. Another tremendous damper in production is the mental battles I'm constantly taking on. I feel for all you wonderful people out there fighting wars, the public is unaware of.
thank you so much ive been trying to make a good ship fpr so long and this is the best video ive been able to follow along to. the ship is awesome and gives me a much better idea of how to make my own! thanks friend
I built the mining rig and set the settings as listed in the vid. Twice broke off the drill as I found out, the upper rotor is going too slow and by the time it gets round the second half of the hole, the piston has pushed it down far enough, it will brake the drill. I've tested it at .006 (instead of .003) and still broke the drill. I found if you set the upper rotor to 0.10 it will spin the upper rotor fast enough and have no breakage. I've tested it several times now at this speed and it works fine. I use my drill in space and primarily to drill ice. I added a hydrogen engine with an event controller to fire it up when batteries get below 90%. Also added a pair of hydrogen tanks with 2 02 Generators because I can...lol Fills the hydrogen cargo ship up when picking up the ice for delivery. All in all, great design and now that the upper rotor speed has been changed, works perfect. Thx
Man, all of these really great ideas. All i wanna do is swap out the LG for wheels but i have to learn to build a rolling vehicle first. Any chance you could help outwith that?
Your mastery over the game/pieces-parts, boggles the mind. Im still trying to figure out how to use symmetry. 😂 I should mention... I'm a console pleb as of late. 🤐
Dude. That was really cool. Bare in mind, im fairly new to the game. I didnt even know that i didn't know that you could steal those ships. How many attempts did it take for you to become so efficient at it? 🍻
Are you sure about consuming a chip every time you switch off/on the safe zone? Because I am playing right now at the official Keen servers and when I switch off and on again, not only the old ship is not consumed, but also the remaining time of the last chip that was used is being displayed. As I am testing right now the current chip is put in a "freeze state" as soon as you turn off the safe zone block.
@@painstudios148 yeah, tbh the remaining time was just a little bit off. I remember last night my safe zone block had 14 remaining chips (it was 15 before using the first one) them I let the time go to like 55min before turning it off. This morning I turned back on and it still had the 14 chips but only 44min. Maybe it is not a full freeze but reeeeally slow countdown? Not sure, I will do some more tests and post it here :)
From what I've noticed, if and when you rebuild your antenna and/or beacon, I tend to disable them. If you don't, space pirates within the range of those signals can identify your signal and come to attack you while you are hacking the ship.
I usually make a cargo truck with a build on site drill packed onto the bed of the truck. I like this drill set-up, though. It will save space for more pistons
batteries dont store 1mw. they store 1mwh wich is entirely different. 1mwh means that if you have a power output of 1mw on the battery it wil deplete in 1 hour if its 2mw in 30 minutes etc
My friend and I did this several times. We were learning about conveyors and hydrogen systems and he loved the ship so win win. The only problem we had was grinding and repairing failed for some reason so we had to gut the ship completely. Needless to say we learned a lot that day lol
Ooh, you just gave me an idea to increase their efficiency, depending on your needs. If you want to build one to use as a portable dock: build it out of Large grid, deploy it on ice, have some O2/H2 Generators on the top of cargo, going into a couple Hydrogen Engines, and a couple Hydrogen Tanks and maybe an O2 tank (if you want it, that part is entirely optional) to store the refined gasses. This would work to refill ship batteries (more Hydrogen Engines=Faster charging, so if you use primarily battery powered ships this would still work for those too, you just have to adjust the formula as necessary to your needs). You could place the connector somewhere up high, like on the top of one of the H2 tanks. That way picking up and moving the rig would be easy, and once it's placed it would fully serve it's role as a portable docking station. Ice empty? Just pick the drill up with a ship and relocate. Miner: Large grid, still need the power generation setup, but for this one you could put a Refiner on it, doesn't need to be anything fancy you could go Basic Refinery or if you wanted to go all-out just slap a reg Refiner with max Yield mods. Then you do the sorter-connector gravel dropper to remove any of the gravel the Refineries make, so you squeeze every last drop of resources like Silicate, Iron, and Nickel that you want out of the stone and leave the bare rock behind.
I try to keep my mining ships as streamline as possible for deep mining, also highly recommend ExcavOS script for mining lcds. It is excellent and easy to configure.
Seeings how this is a 2 year old video, I'm sure someone mentioned it already, but right behind the downward facing docking port would be a great place for an ORE Detector!!!! LOL.... Kinda hard to mine when you don't know where the ore is. Just busting your chops. Great build bro! I really love that you taught so many ppl the quick tips on build-menu management. I wish someone would have told me all those things a long time ago! You deserve more viewers, but you Earned my SUB with this build, brother!
@painstudios148 so I tested it out and you just tweak the leg sets of pistons to lower at .003 while the main piston lowers at .002. Only issue is you gotta have it in the air to raise the legs back up cause it's so heavy. Unless I missed a setting.
I know this is an older video, but I'm only just now getting into this game and I took over a military escort ship. I removed replaced the remote control, command seat and antenna and it still says I don't have permission to remote pilot the ship. Can anyone assist me on this? Thanks
What's an inertia "tensioner"? Also, do you actually know why you set it? And what the crap are you setting Braking Torque for?? Braking Torque ONLY applies when the rotor is OFF. You one of the "Hurr slider goes brrr" crowd? Don't play hard, play smart!
braking torque goes to max unless you want it frewheeling at some unknown point in the future. as for what inertia tensor is I have no idea, I've heard about it but I haven't even looked for it yet
@@TheAechBomb See, normally at this point I would say "If you think so", but in your case that would be an insult to thinking. Did I ask what an inertia tensor is? No. Did you know what an inertia tensor is? (Apart from something I _didn't_ ask about?) No, and you even explicitly said so. Did I question what value BT goes to? No. Not only did you get literally everything wrong in your original response, you're now also becoming disproportionately defensive and hostile solely from having your response scrutinized. Dude, you're so incoherent, you can't even hurt my feelings! Try having a point that's valid in the real world, not just some twisted fantasy of yours.
@@Anvilshock you were insulting someone's intelligence for doing things (as far as I can tell) totally correctly and mispronouncing the word Tensor. that makes you an ass, end of story.
I caught this and a ghoul and a mercenary wreck ( i dug it up turned it to a ship and repaired it ) the mercenary ship is my main ship the rust is my cargo hauler/mini base and the ghoul is my gunship/assult dropship / scout mini base
With an advanced rotor straight out of the storage it would allow you to reset and shift to a new hole easily or harvest a ring around it but would t recommend that
"The Virus" Love It. When I make a miner with a lot of drills on it, I save the drills as a group called "The Fist". I might try this idea, but on wheels for something to collect tons of ice on my home base.
I agree with your math, but you didnt take the different gravities into account... Ex: The Earth planets' gravity lets 1 Newton moves 0.980665Kg; not 1:1. It's a marginal difference, unless you deal in Mega Newtons, which we do. It could throw off calculations a wee bit.
Cool video with loads of useful info, however, I disagree on the ion thrusters, they are mostly affected by atmosphere, so if you have an ion ship that works on the moon, it will struggle a lot on europa since europa has the same gravity but it has atmosphere as well. Personally experienced it when I thought my Moon Ion miner would be enough and it couldn't support it's own weight on europa when both bodies have 0.25 p-gravity.Other than that, a ton of usefull info thanx a bunch for making a decent explanatory yet not too long and boring video on this topic.
