Hi there! Here is everything you wanted to know about manufacturing software, ERP/MRP systems, production planning, inventory control, supply chain management and more. Channel is supported by MRPeasy manufacturing planning software www.mrpeasy.com/
Back order is a scam. I had a supplier back order 25% of my order and charge me. They cover all their cost month to month, without putting up any of their money, and I get screwed
heres my problem with the presented KPIs: when talking OEE (OEE= Availability * Quality * Performance), you already have the production downtime as well as the first time yield included Availability = Planned production time - planned downtime/planned production time (so its a measure of unplanned downtime) Quality = good parts produced/total parts produced (so its a measure for bad parts) performance = total production (including bad produced goods)/planned produced goods therefore your kpis are redundant, i would rework this video if i were you
Performance is a measure of rate or speed ... actual units being made per second/minute/hour ... divided by the theoretical maximum rate of the process. Availability is the time that the production line is actually running product during the work shift ... divided by total time in the work shift.
wow this was good, pretty clear for me now the difference. But in my pov, the master and the process engineering have the same activity from your concepts? the process engineer also have to define who and how will make the activity.
Properly first point is meant for Japan not N America. Regarding the fourth point, why would engineers work separately from other workers, that is a failure itself
I disagree, I'm running a manufacturing plant in America, and upward flow of improvement ideas actually works out well. On top of it, the workers becomes the owner of the improvement, it makes everybody happy that not everything have to come from the top down. My case may be singular, but it's enough to debunk your negativity in your comment. 4th point kind of synchronizes with the first point, so close-knitted communication is key. And if you get some real shy personality, you may get that separation by nature. It's a task to culture up this synchronicity.
Pete I might be a bit negative, and you are right in the sense that the generalization is not always accurate. However, I advise you to go to any jobs platform and read reviews about different employers and hopefully your factory is one of them. You can't see the full picture from your site, things are usually subtle and less clear. in my opinion. I keep my sense aside and focus more on evaluation: quality, productivity, and overall organization because the numbers don't lie. Everything should presented into graphs and hung on the walls
Thanks for the information. This really means a lot to me as a manufacturer. This road is lonely and hard. At least it has validated some challenges. I love how you have also given solutions.
This has got to be the best video I've seen regarding the differences of production planning and scheduling. Well... inventory management period. I have a market planning analyst job interview Tuesdsy and I think this will come in handy. I need to actually sound like I know what I'm talking about lol! Thank you!! I may have to subscribe!
While this video might have valuable information, I cannot watch it. Reading a PowerPoint is one of the Cardinal Sins of presentations. You have sinned, good sir. Take my down vote and use it to motivate you to do better.
yeah elaborations were needed mostly in the formulas where I dint got clear because the person was reading the slides. Kindly elaborate the formula for first time yield. There is a confusion bw the total items used in numerator and denominator.
Thanks for letting us know. The world has been losing sleep for decades for not knowing your opinion on a RU-vid video. Take my comment and use it to motivate you to be relevant.
