Thanks for sharing this process! It's awesome to see how the Revo software but also the hardware has improved over the last two years. I bought the POP 2 two years ago, which was my first 3D scanning experience at all, and I was really amazed of the results. However, the process was a bit tedious because of the limited scanning range and resolution of the POP 2 but also the usability of the Revo software, so I lost a lot of motivation to use it further since then. If I understood correctly, the Miraco has a bigger scanning range in both directions (far and near) and a better resolution? If possible, I would appreciate it to see you doing a scan of the skateboard from this video with the Miraco, so that I'll be able to compare the results between the Miraco and the POP 3.
Thank you very much for acknowledging Revopoint's progress. We will pass your feedback on to our team. Additionally, we recommend giving the POP 2 another try for scanning, as our software has made significant improvements over the past two years, with many important features being added.
I bought one of your 3D Scanner, although it works great with Android i was shocked there was no Linux version of your software. I had to use an older version with Wine, when will a native Linux port will be released?
Hello, currently our software does not support Linux systems. However, I will forward your suggestion to the development team. Thank you for your valuable feedback.
I sprayed my car with a paint sprayer and another brand. One thing I noticed is that a car is so big that by the time you finish scanning one area another area has started to evaporate. So it makes more sense to spray as you go, not the whole car at once.
We have a body scan feature that can scan hair. If you want to capture a man's hairstyle, it's best to use dry shampoo to set the hair. This will maximize the scan quality.
Good tips... here's one back for you! If you just lasso select the object and then flip selection and delete, it will save you a LOT of cropping time! ;)
@@Revopoint3D Maybe something that EXPLAINS the process instead of just showing it for half a minute with music playing in the background. This is like showing a 30 second montage of a baker working and then calling it "How to bake a perfect cake." I'm one of your customers, by the way. I bought a Pop2 a couple years back and the lack of clear information on how to use it has been very frustrating. I've had to turn to forums and RU-vid videos because of how little instruction Revo had to offer. Most of your videos on the Pop2 are at best a few minutes long, gloss over many of the features and offer no troubleshooting tips. More recent products have gotten a lot more instruction and attention, but as one of your earlier customers I feel pretty left out.
Please scan slightly larger objects and show us how to assemble them. Because the surfaces always remain rough during the joints and cannot provide a smooth joint.I want 2 things from you: find a dark or black object. But this object should be symmetrical and a little difficult to scan. Scan the object in two parts. Then scan the back side of this object and show us how to assemble it. Mini 2 scans beautifully for complex shapes and toy figures. However, we are having a hard time scanning objects that are slightly larger, have flat surfaces, do not have many details, but contain small holes. I would be very happy if you could make a video about this. We cannot choose marker tracking on dark objects. For this reason, as I said, it becomes very difficult to scan the products. Because Mini 2 has a very small scanning area. Yes, it can make a detailed scan, but since the area is very small, it becomes very difficult to scan.
For dark or shinny items you need scan spray. Symmetrical items will need marker mode. Combining the scans you would need a good overlap between the models. Then you would need to use point alignment. Pick 4 if the same points on both scans
I’m debating between the Range 2 and this scanner. I have the original Range which I love, but the Range 2 seems to be so much improved. This Miraco seems to be part Range part Mini which is intriguing. I have a Cr Ferret that was advertised as a scanner with the capability to scan large, midsize and small objects which is only good for midsize.
Will you be adding "merging parts" like with your desktop software please? I'd like to merge parts of scans as one part so it completely full 360 scan. Otherwise when i scan it overlaps and messes up my project. I lost tracking easily when i pause and flip over the object or turn it around to scan the other side.
This won't cause discomfort because the large turntable rotates slowly at a gentle speed. Additionally, when scanning a human body, 2-3 rotations are usually enough to capture the necessary data.
If that doesn't work, it means there's an issue with the dual-axis turntable. Our accessories have a one-year warranty. If it's still under warranty, please contact our customer service promptly to replace the dual-axis turntable. Here: customer@revopoint3d.com
in genral a good pratice for almost all iscanners and items to place feature rich items around to keep tracking, i also did use crumbled paper, but in addition i went over to 3d print a stand to place the item upon, a dodecahedron works pretty good with nice surfaces to detect. what i don't like about this method shown here is the fact, the trackinghelpers occlude the item, especially in the perpendicular view onto it, i would place them on the edges of the card not the front and lay down not upright so i get a better line of sight onto the to scan object, the tracking issue should anyway occur only on the edges not in the front, execpt the software confuses back with with front but regarding the fov some smallm items at the sides should prevent this.
I've been thinking, I do that sometimes. Anyhow, it seems possible to lightly coat things with a airbrush sending a fine powder. And if you don't have a airbrush, then if you scratch, and scratch, until the scalp produces a generous coating of dermis to rain down upon surfaces to achieve excellent scanning results. One of the two or both should work well, but the second solution can help stimulate healthy non chemical ways to 3d scanning. It's Gross Humor Awareness Week, and last night there was a televised debate.
I feel terrible that I didn't get the mini vs pop 3. I've seen results on the exact items I'm scanning and the pop 3 looks like finger painting compared to a Picasso. Wonder if eBay will take a return and apply it to the mini?
