A rare mistake from ray in this video when he cooks the seafood starter the flat rock the rock he uses should never be placed near the fire as a mater of fact when you use flat rock to cook on it should never be collected from anywhere in or around water has when heated they tend to explode and can cause serious injuries.
I remember tuning in on a Sunday morning to watch Bush tucker Man, it inspired me to travel to Australia, i spent 2 years traveling around, Without Les, i would never have gone. Cheers Mate
Situations like this are not the time to play around with making fish hooks from bobby pins. These videos support the best approach to vehicle/conveyance survival: MORE IS MORE. There is no logic behind fiddling with tiny magnesium strikers when you can pack well stocked crates of proper camping gear and communicate using GPS and satcom. Sure the tiny micro kits have their place for military applications, water sports, hiking, horseback riding et al but when you have a vehicle? Pack as much comfort as you wish and compress warm clothing and sleeping bags with a Food Saver. There are some great airplane survival kits videos here on youtube and Dave Canterbury also offers some excellent vehicle kit videos. You get stuck for a week? A 50 pound kit is always superior to a 40 pound kit.
There was a documentary with ray mears and im sure it was a desert and it had a poem about skull and bones can anyone jelpe find it please? Whats the name of the poem and who by?
I’m afraid we’d have 35 people ass up in the ocean if this was folks of today.. we just don’t have it in us, sure some do, but the general population of today wouldn’t last a week. We’d be arguing over who’s gonna eat who first.. smh
Ray Mears bushcraft, and wild food, are very relaxing, very educational things to watch. I come back to these videos very frequently, often before bed, because they're all a good way to wind down after a long day.
