this album.... <3 generates so many different emotions and inspiration. To say no matter when I listen to it, that it always reminds me of purpose and talent. Absolutely the soul of hip hop, alive and well. Hidden in the lines of reality where it's always been, waiting for its listeners to succumb to its own energy. Much love and respect to all the artists with Nomak and all the other listeners in the community.
"Music has always been my of communicating ideas I couldn't find words for. Even with poetry or lyrics, I can't always see the colors I see with instruments or drums. Many different influences create these sound waves we call songs. Now they are yours. This record is designed to be a soundtrack. The movie is your life (your sex life). Enjoy!" at the bar "This is where it all happens. If you can ask three women for their phone number at the same time and get them, you're almost as sexy as I am." 14 years "This song is dedicated to anyone emotionally scarred that still likes to dance." triple gold daytons "I like my daytons triple and gold. Any questions?" no "This is a word or a concept that means a lot to many people. It helped me become a master of reverse psychology." tell me "Have you ever had someone say to you, 'Hey, I have something to tell you, but never mind.' Don't you hate it? Just tell me." the queen and I "This is a song about a crush I have on a special, older lady. She doesn't know it but she does it for me. I prefer when her face is expressionless." back seat anonymous "If you didn't know, I have a problem. I need to talk with other people that understand my particular dysfunction. What else can I say?" change your mind "Persistence is the key my friends. Baleedat!" exact space "Do we know each other? Forgive me. I forgot." i dee "It's obvious someone has ego issues." rain dance (rmx instrumental) "Check out these hot rhymes." pretty pussy kitty kat "It's so pretty. Can I remove this blind fold?"
it’s been years since i’ve been able to find this playlist and i’m forever grateful that my bff knew the name of it… i am so relieved and happy that i get to listen to it again!
Volumes 2, 3, & 4 are my favorites. I couldn't pick just one. If I had to, then probably 2 since it was the first one. My introduction to Mark Farina. I was just chillin' at home with some mushrooms and started looking for something to listen to. I had such a great time. The next time my friend was over and we ate some more I played this and he was 100% all in. He said it was perfect music for the occasion. And it really is.
took 25 years to hear the second track amd realize its 5/4. No wonder i always loved this album so much. And why im drawn to make such crazy time signatures myself.
51:06 It's impressive how much this remix (Colossus - Transit) was ahead of its time, as this is clearly a Lo-Fi nowadays, only from 2006. The whole Hip-Hop style rhythm, the tonation and compression of the piano, all of this is very common in the Lo-Fis nowadays, but this in a 2006 remix deserves to be recognized and apreciated today!
