Honestly it's going to be interesting how the new styles are created and how different reffing will become as these styles make it to the highest level. With each ref as always there is their own interpretation of the rules so who knows I just hope we don't turn into whats happening with Saber right now. Sad to see that happen.
@@zakninja3706 yeah, you’re right. I think there are a lot fewer exchanges than there were in 2019. Foilists have stopped “creating fencing” themselves and simply wait for their opponents mistakes (because you don’t need to take risk for your actions 😅). So, I don’t really follow anymore new competitions, I prefer to watch old Safin bouts, Golubitsky, Meinhardt at his best, Baldini and so on
I feel bad for Kleibrink, he won Olympic Gold in 2008 when he was 23 and is STILL an Olympian 13 years later at 36. This performance does not do justice to how good he is/was, he is one of the best foilists Germany has ever had. Yet the times catch up with the next generations arrival
