God that not helene hits your area, whew 😅. Lovely and beautiful box turtles, beautiful cooter on the rock !! You need cleaning up the pond of brown water!☺️👍🐢❤️🌲
We have a creek behind our house with a deck which extends out over the water. We have two snapping turtles which have taken up residence near us. Along either side 13 other hard shells plus two lager heads ( they are so fast it's unbelievable) we enjoy the presence of these magnificent creatures.
Great job on containing that feisty rattlesnake n releasing it back into nature. Extremely safe n happy you n Christian didn't get bit or anything.😊 Great video 😄😄 Hugs from The Jersey Shore 💜
There is a zoo of sorts on rout 29 towards the pocano Mountans, in PA.they have the biggest snaper in there i believe is the biggest in the world,or US,i hate the place because of the way these animals are kept, and the snapper cant hardly move its so big and the tank is to small.
I found a baby snapping turtle on the sidewalk all dried out nowhere near water. I live in central New Jersey, should I keep him or realize him in the local pond?
I have a common snapping turtle and hes around a year old, I usually feed him pellets and mealworms, and I recently started feeding him vegetables, is there any important things I’m missing?
I have an AST that is 8 yrs old and am wondering what mollusks you feed him? I feed mine mostly raw shrimp(with the shell on) and mix in occasionally, various fish fillets, just a little chicken, and when I can do it, live fish from our local creek.
@@GregsTurtleHaven Thanks for replying! May I ask where you source these? I've thought about getting clams at the grocery store, but I wonder if they're not too hard or the right 'type'? I bought some snails from a pond supplier hoping I could breed them. Thanks!
@@tsukubai081808 the little neck and cherry stone clams I buy from the grocery store, but the turtle needs to be at least 10lbs to be able to crush them. You can also feed the small Asiatic Corbicula clams, which are also easy to breed
@@GregsTurtleHaven OK. He's 12.8 lbs. and quite feisty! I'll try those soon. I'm hoping to build an outdoor pond next year but I don't feel I'll leave him outside over the winter. It gets very cold at times here (Central PA). Thanks so much for taking the time to reply,
