Nice work! where do the drainage pipes outlet to?
@GreenWorksContractingIncOttawa
@GreenWorksContractingIncOttawa 2 года назад
Hi Lauren, good question. The white perforated PVC pipes simply act as temporary holding tanks in the event the environment/native soil below is saturated and/or cannot infiltrate the volume of water immediately.

Does rain water stay on it. Or what's upkeep
@GreenWorksContractingIncOttawa
@GreenWorksContractingIncOttawa 2 года назад
Rain water runs off the decking. The glass railings should be cleaned from time to time as needed.

I’ve never seen anyone put fabric directly under the pavers. What is the purpose of that?
@GreenWorksContractingIncOttawa
@GreenWorksContractingIncOttawa 2 года назад
It's bi-axle geogrid. Typically used on retaining wall applications. In this install it was used an an edge restraint to prevent the pavers from shifting or spreading over time.

Original deck built with traditional railing system and then it changed to glass panels or did you combine 2 different houses? Initially there are windows with the wood/traditional railing posts and then when the glass railing goes in the windows are now doors. Also, looks like some dark material was used on a portion of the deck closest to the camera. Did it put on all the deck or just a portion and what was it for?

All one job. The house windows were removed and a sliding door installed (not by us). The black material hanging between the joist was installed to catch surface runoff and discharge water away from the home and out from under the deck. This was quite a lot of effort for minimal gains. We have not done it since.

When do you use 0-3/4 rather than clear 3/4 base?

How much does it cost? I want to get an idea about the costing.
@GreenWorksContractingIncOttawa

Hi Florina, thank you for your comment. The railings are custom made and were in the neighborhood or $6500-9000.00 CDN supplied and installed (permits included). The deck was in the range of $15,000-20,000 CDN designed, permits, installation.

What brand of decking did you use? Also are you on 16" centers? I like the angle by the way.
@GreenWorksContractingIncOttawa
@GreenWorksContractingIncOttawa 4 года назад
Thank you Michael. If I remember correctly it was AZEK. 12" on centre.

Why did the customer want a weird oblong shape deck ? Would have been better if it was s complete rectangle
@GreenWorksContractingIncOttawa
Perhaps we could build you a rectangular deck? :)

How much would a project like this cost the owner of the home? Amazing work btw.... I want this at my house
@GreenWorksContractingIncOttawa
Thank you. A permeable patio of this size, the given access, and with quality materials would vary between $5,000 - $10,000 Canadian
