It does, if it's very hot or cold I usually bring the tablet inside. I have gotten a warning the tablet is getting too hot after being parked in the sun for awhile. The tablet recovers quickly after the AC is turned on and the battery has held up great
Im going to do the same thing pretty soon. Probably going to use some super stick velcro. Should hold nice n tight. Been looking for a video like this to show me the size of the screen. You nailed the right tablet. Audio out from the usb-c to usb sound good when hooked up? I was going to charge and use for hd audio via Tidal at the same time with a concealed wire. Thanks for the great video.
So I only link to the truck via Bluetooth, I've had trouble with tidal failing to load while I'm on the road. I use RU-vid music for audio streaming. I use tidal in my home theater setup, the master level audio sounds amazing
Hey man can you give out a little parts list like what brackets you used etc. I drive long distance a lot and I’m tired of using my phone for navigation so looking at getting an iPad to do basically what you did with the Samsung
Depending on where I am I get some lag but for the most part video works well. It's coming over a cellular hotspot so you can't expect too much 720p is typically the smoothest
Cool concept. Not sure why you didn't just use something like Carmount mag mounts ? I used these in combination with Apples Smart folio case (I only used the mag part of the case) to mount an iPad Air 5 w/5G in my Equinox. So far, even on rough roads, the Air hasn't come off the folio, But I probably; just jinxed myself 🤣
Hey so if you go back to my previous videos I show how I pieced it together, everything was purchased from a local hardware store and Amazon. The difficulty would depend on the vehicle you're installing it on but in general I would say no it's not difficult!
The tablet looks great! How much for you the make the brackets? I have a Yukon so the dash is exactly the same. Can you still open the radio compartment? Can the front passenger see the brackets because from the pov of the video it looks seamless? Hope you reply soon. Thanks.
So the brackets are slightly visible from the side but it doesn't look bad, if you went for the ultra size tablet it would be completely hidden. The bracket and magnets were pieced together from Amazon and a local hardware store only cost about 25 bucks total. The tablet comes off no problem to expose the factory screen and all factory buttons are accessible underneath the tablet
Hey that's awesome! I've considered the bottom two, I''m sure it holds great, but haven't experienced the jiggle since I went with the thicker metal mounts
@@miketips4188 the S9 just came out and is brighter under sunlight. You could probably get a good amount on a trade in. I’m doing the same thing using mine in car as well but I went with the ultra. Pre-ordered the S9 ultra. Just something to consider you know.
Excuse my english. Greetings man! Last year, one day using my tablet, I installed Waze and the same thing occurred to me. It was great when I mounted it in my car! I share the idea of my assembly. I simply attached two strips of 3M brand velcro tape (for sticking pictures to the wall). Two to the plastic of the central panel and two to the tablet. It is easily assembled and disassembled 😉 Question, is that Wallpaper Engine or a similar app?
Hey, great video man! I'm considering doing this with my tab s7 plus in my 2014 Scion XD. My only concern is receiving and making phone calls. If tablet is connected to vehicle through BT for audio and connected to phone's hotspot is that still possible to receive the calls?
@miketips4188 ugh....so after finally getting around to attempt this I found out Verizon removed the feature from their phones that allow to connect to Samsung tablet call and text feature. My previous s22 ultra had this feature. It must have been a non Verizon phone. 🤔
Came across this video looking for 3d printed mounting ideas. I've been running an S8 Ultra on my dash for about a year now (started with an s5e then s7), I used 2 magnetic phone mounts. Allows me to adjust the angle as I want, but I'm thinking about creating a more seamless look as well as maybe a 3d printed hood/visor to help with glare. I had a matte screen protector on it before but hated the look and feel.
I wanna get the S8 wifi as it comes GPS+GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo and QZSS for overland trips. Can I use the offline google maps with the GPS only or it still require wifi from my phone hotspot?
