The Richard Williams version (1971) is vastly superior; watch that one instead. Among other things the art-styling was based on the original book-illustrations, and the soundtrack featured Alastair Sim as Scrooge.
At marker 3:42 he pulls out his nasal SNUFF and taps some on his hand and sniffs it as is the way it's used. Many who do not know of it's use would not know what he was doing. Today nasal SNUFF is still popular with the English folk. Back then it didn't bother anyone to have tobacco use in cartoons and TV shows. How times have changed eh?
It sure does being back memories as a child I watched this when I was like it's been a long time I'm going to save it because I love this video thank God I never grow old but the movies old but I'm not it's just awesome to see it again it's been a long time
Can think of plenty of bad badass moments from the old Shatner movies the shit all over this... like f#ck, the Enterprise rising out of shit is pretty cool, and these days we've got CGI out the ass n wot not... but tbh, Wrath of Khan was the pinnacle mate....
To these natives thieves just stole their religious iconography and jumped into the ocean minutes afterwards a MASSIVE being rose out if said ocean and then the fire in the sky stopped. To them god just appeared
Not he biggest JJ Trek fan but this was a cool scene. Love Spock lecturing Kirk about the prime directive when the whole dang operation violates it! Considering they upscaled the 1701 to about the size of the 1701-D for these movies, that must have been an impressive sight for those aliens.
I still like the rainbow(ish) effect of TMP the best. It has the most attractive balance of colors and the long red strands are evocative of the red shift as the Enterprise speeds away from us.
Possibly my favourite thing is working out that SHOWXATING is the Lang Belta word for 'visual display' - if you take the XA pronunciation like in Catalan, it becomes literally 'show the thing' On top of everything else that was almost too good 😂😂😂
Best version by far. Even with all the present day films they do not compare. Thankyou. Dickens was brilliant!. I am sure he knew some greedy merchants. Maybe they should show this film to Corporate America, law makers, etc.
