This shit is awful. I delivered drywall for 10years thought it sucked. I delivered shingles for 2 days and quit. I’d rather carry drywall than deliver shingles, it’s that bad. Mad respect for you guys and whoever else does this. I’ll stick to my drywall, you guys can keep this job.
Good job rick, been doing it 17 years im dispatch now at abc, tough work sometimes but its a good work out for sure. Its definitely not for anybody type of work.
Im 66 yrs old and need to re roof my house. Its steep and all broken differnt pitches. 30 squares. Not sure if I can do it. They want 25 to 30k to do it. Materials are only 8k. I was a concrete guy for a lot of years and only made $40 a day and worked my ass off. Crazy the cost today. Had 3 large fir trees cut down in front yard for 2000 and a big mess for me to clean up. Kid was here about 8 hrs for 2k in his pocket cash. Everyone says its $1000 a tree so I got a good deal. I just cant believe they are making $2k a day now
Been doing this for 7 years now , with 3rd company. We're supposed to alternate ( driver stacks one roof , striker stacks the next and so on ) I choose to walk EVERY roof. It's DEFINITELY hard work...💪🏾💯
@@sdmobb6198oh did the job was a toll in your body? I’m about to start in that position on Monday. And also I’m Curtis what other truck driving jobs you know that pay better?
Man I enjoy this job. Definitely a work out. But over here 1 guys on the truck throwing for 2 guys with 4 shingles back to back. 2 bundles each on the roof. Definitely get my work out without a gym.
RICARDO WHY DID YOU QUIT ..I WILL BE TURNING 65 IN JULY AND I UNLOAD NOW 500 TO 800 CASES OF WINE...I WILL BE GOING TO ABC SUPPLY OR SYSCO FOODS.......HOW SWEET IT IS
THINGS CHANGED ABC SUPPLY CALLED ME AND OFFER ME $25 AN HOUR I AM MOVING FROM DELIVERING WINE 500 TO 800 CASES A DAY TO LOADING SHINGLES INTO THE CONVEYOR BELT........AND IM 64 YEARS OLD STILL GOING STRONG
I work for Southern Wine delivering heavy ass liqour all day. I just applied for ABC. They already told my coworker they would hire us both for more than we get paid at southern. I only been at SW a yr and was doing 22.50 an hr. My OT check would be larger than my regular 40 hrs a week. Im tired of liqour so I think im gonna make the switch.
For 1 house lol we do this all day multiple truck loads hundreds upon hundreds of shingles you ain't shit 90 percent of you roofers are skin and bones with a strong back that's it
Physical job? Common man I used to take those up using a leader and balls now, that's a physical job! Trust me! I wish that I had that conveyor belt back in the days.
Still a physical job if you did that consistently your body is probably obliterated hardly anyone does that anymore most roofing companies rely on us to get that shit up there
Pablo, so did I. I'm 62 and done. But these guys still work their asses off down here in FL. 2 guys to a truck loaded with 8 or 10 pallets a day. That's alot of squares. Kudos to anyone who does this
Roofing is a hard job but not as hard as this most roofers are scrawny and complete 1 to 2 houses a day there's a reason I've seen countless young teenagers working with their parents roofing and not a single one loading shingles 🤷♂️
@@joshuafigueroa151 I doubt it, if you work at the warehouse they swamped you, customers right at the door 2,3 calls over the radio for express tickets plus the one your working on, work on hot 🥵 days outdoors, ……… I hate the company how they threat their employees, but customers are right all the time, no matter if they’re wrong. Customers always right
Walkers right they are walking on the roof with those bundles and he’s skipping two to three to two pads. Fuck when I was at Midwest delivering shingles I hit every pad
