I believe Australian sheep farmers put the sheep through a dip solution which helps control flystrike etc.. the heat and millions of flies make the sheep suffer without preventative measures. It is a business so they are protecting the product.
Sheep farmers in Australia have to remove hair around sheep butts because of fly larvae. The protesters say it is cruel, but it is done to save the animals from infestations that cause terrible agony.
Though is it common for things to step sideways when raising livestock, and those who tend to/care for them do get a bit used to it, when I see things like this I can't help but project my own thoughts/feelings. Just imagine what that must FEEL like, being infested/eaten alive, and then the shearing to expose/remove all of those writhing parasites?! Holy moley!
Cada cuánto esquilan alas ovejas ay incisticidas dónde mañana alas ovejas y no pasa esa peste que desactualizados q están los veterinarios en otros lugares y se llaman primer mundo=😂😮
Flystrike happens to chickens as well. Poopy butt and flies lay eggs. Maggots hatch and go up the vent. Really nasty and hard to catch. Ya gotta really watch your birds. Very gross to deal with.
We don't wash our sheep or cows as they really don't need it. Much like wild animals, our farmed animals roam relatively free, we also have 1000s of them so would be a bit hard. This is a natural problem we encounter from time to time.
