Many years ago, whilst a graduate student at Oxford University, I had the great pleasure of singing Handel's superb music, in the Sheldonian Theatre. Glorious!
@@kenmesa8435 Thanks a lot. I gathered some info. about him and found out that he's very well-known -despite my initial ignorance. I sing in a choir and am studying these pieces, which have become a real revelation to me. I fully admire the whole performance of all the components of this video: conductor, musicians, choristers, and even the venue and the public!
I love the way this piece is very quiet initially and then you are hit by a wall of sound when the choir comes in. I recommended it to a music group I belong to and the organiser, put it on and turned the volume up to a comfortable level, not realising what was coming. The look on his face as he rushed to turn the volume down was priceless.
Recently I had the good fortune to hear this wonderful work in the perfect location - The Temple Church, London a place which Handel himself frequented. What a stunning experience, can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable music events I’ve ever been to.
How interesting.....I was recently in Chester Cathedral....where Handel rehearsed some of his "Messiah" whilst waiting for the weather to clear across the Irish Sea!
Estupendo! esa bella orquesta junto a ese precioso coro nos anticipa a ese día glorioso cuando el Rey de Reyes y Señor de Señores será coronado. Que sea pronto amén ❤
