just like the “unexpected pop of red” rule, juxtaposition adds something new, something unexpected to an otherwise simple outfit. in this look, I paired something with soft lines & a floral pattern with a dark leather jacket, which brought some edge, making this look more appropriate for date night and breathing something different into this outfit. tbh it’s not my usual style, but I used this fashion principle to fill a gap in my closet. why linen is a great fabric to wear in the summer: * breathability: linen allows air to flow easily, keeping you cool and comfortable. * moisture-wicking: it absorbs moisture & dries quickly, helping to keep you dry in hot weather. * lightweight: linen is a light fabric, which makes it perfect for summer clothing. * durability: despite its lightness, linen is a strong & durable fabric that can withstand frequent wear and washing. * hypoallergenic: linen is naturally hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive skin. * eco-friendly: linen is made from flax plants, which require less water and pesticides to grow compared to other crops like cotton. * low maintenance: it doesn’t require much care and often looks best with its natural wrinkles, adding to its casual, laid-back look. * biodegradable: this makes it a sustainable choice. before you bring it up, yes there are downsides: * wrinkling: this fabric wrinkles easily, which can give it a less polished appearance * cost: high-quality linen is one of the more expensive fabrics * care requirements: it requires careful washing and ironing to maintain its appearance and longevity
