RIP PAC 12. Hello BIG 10. A talented team with elite play makers and talented young coaches with a very high ceiling. It's almost time to see how everything pans out on the grid iron. So excited! GO DUCKS!
Even on the other side of the country Crepea is going to ask long winded and pointless questions. Loved it when Lanning looked away after he answered the first of his second set of questions. Like he was begging for a question from anyone else but Crepea. 😂
A good collection of talent - and a good team are not the same thing - and he realizes that ! --- Takes time takes experience and only playing together will get them used to each other. Many new faces @ Oregon - talented but not a cohesive group ? Perhaps by the end of the year after playing several games together ? 🤔
Dan is built different learning under Saban and Smart he’s stuck to his guns as a person and morals as a HC he shows genuine love for his players and passion for the game he’s done nothing but get better in the past 2 years and this year might be the launch pad for Oregon if they win the games they should win and the 50/50 games
Controversial Opinion - I think UW needs to control their emotions moving forward. It's very clear this team was highly emotionally charged, which I don't think is necessarily a good thing. There is a certain level of clarity and composure that comes with being not emotional. You see it in fighting / MMA all the time, and it really stands out there since it's 1 on 1. The super emotional guy tends to make the most mistakes and loses.
Did anyone actually watch the game? 13 min left in the game Michigan punt return unit had 12 men on the field and the ref with a full view didn’t call it, then the phantom holding call on the long pass play on the next possession took the wind outta Washington’s sails. No doubt in my mind this game was rigged, I was at the game and watched it like a hawk at the 50 yard line!
Washington is a passing team, we know that. Passing takes timing and Rythm. I think Michigan took them out of their rythm and timing with just the front 4. Did not need to blitz to put pressure on Penix. I think he was used to throwing without pressure in the PAC 12. Going forward, I think they will need to get more physical and compliment the passing game, because in the Big Ten, with the weather and outdoors, you need to be gritty. OSU had an elite passing team the last 3 years and that did not work either. One other thing, with so many long commercial breaks, more than normal, i think it hurt the flow of the offensive game for both sides. Go Blue.
Thank you Washington for being backup support to my argument that you don’t need a certain blue chip grade to be good enough to play for a natty. Scouting services are not the be all end all they get things wrong all of the time.
As a Michigan fan I saw Washington play back in September and felt they would make it to the Championship game I would have put money on it. Awesome NFL style offense, however the defense was void in stats not even ranked in the top 50 by the next month. There was still time to get their defense healthy and ready for the CFP. The Huskies could win the NC with a offensive shootout with Michigan. It did not happen, but is was still a possibility UM and UW will play again this year October 5th 2024 @ Washington.
It is, without a doubt in my mind, time to find an offensive coordinator that can see more than two receivers, a tight end and the runningbacks catching the football....and a route tree that keeps ALL threats short of the line to gain or behind the line of scrimmage MOST OF THE GAME...If your offense relies on your guys breaking a tackle or the defense making a mistake, EVERY PLAY IF IT IS TO GAIN POSITIVE YARDAGE...you will never win against quality opponents. The first and second down pass plays drive after drive are absolutely batshit dumb. 1 or 2 yards is better than 0. 3rd and 7 is better than 3rd and 10 ALWAYS. Play action is still a thing! It still absolutely establishes advantage for the offense. You cannot throw darts at your playbook all game and hope the randomness fools the defense. Running the ball sets up the pass, never the other way around.
Ive thought stein has done good for the most part. But the offensive game plan for this game was shit. Your right we were very predictable. Personaly i think we should have used more option to slow down those backers, who were wreaking havoc. It would have only taken a few option plays to slow there defense a step, and often that was the difference here. But ultimately we were way to predictable on offense. Bo can run anything. I would shown up with dozens of plays that have never been seen on tape.
I understand what it's lke to lose a Dad, happened 3 years ago for me and it's still tough, but, know that it truly DOES get better, and we, the Husky Nation love your strength and goodness, and that he IS smiling down proud from above. Best to you, GO DAWGS!!
Do you think they don’t watch the films? They are well coached and knew during the game what they needed to do to adjust. They held them to no points in the fourth quarter and sacked Caleb at key points to stop drives like knocking them out of field goal range. If you watch it with no expectations, just watch how they improved as the game drew to a close. The USC offense has really large tight ends, they at first were able to hold off the defense but the Huskies wore them down during the game. USC is a great team, we were better that game and it showed in the second half.
