For a horror debut, look up Jonah Lomu vs France in 1994. For the most stunning group of debuts, the All Blacks vs France in 1986 at Lancaster Park, Christchurch. No one gave them a chance, and yet they won.
agree, he's not much of a threat with the ball in his hands besides crashing into defenders. Suits the SA's game though but nowhere near the best flankers from the ABs and France on that aspect.
But if you let loose the ball from your hands and it moves forward with the same pace as you - isn't that a forward pass? I always thought so - just imagine how many points I could have scored!
Only if the ball touches the ground or is caught by another player in your team.. In reality you could throw the ball forward by 1 metre & catch it yourself. You cannot "pass" to yourself & it would be a knock on if that ball touches the ground
@@calummackenzie1797 spot on! Also if you throw the ball in the air like so in this video, you are deemed to still be in possession of the ball therefore you can be legitimately tackled without the ball
@@JaemanEdwards that’s why you have three loose forwards, they all have different roles. Would you fail to pick him because he doesn’t turnover possession?
@@Ash0010 Depending on who's in line for selection I probably wouldn't pick him on tackling alone. Apart from not being good at fetching, his running and passing skills are substandard.
