Dottie here and welcome to my channel which is basically my bike life journey, whilst chatting bubbles at the same time. I have two bikes, a Yamaha Neo's4, which I only use for work really, but if the weathers bad I sometimes nip out on it. I traded in the Dragstar to help the next dude/dudette enter the world of biking, so my main bike at the moment is my Yamaha MT09 Tracer, which is the bike you'll see the most of in the vlogs.
I have two GoPro cameras, they are both the hero 4 silver versions and I use a standard lapel mic in the helmet. The main camera is always on my chesty harness as I love style of PoV it gives. I don't tend to use the second camera much, but it usually goes on my handlebars, although I have many other mounts at my disposal.
So please like, comment, share and subscribe and I hope you enjoy the ride round the Cumbria area as much as I do.
Hey Sam, Yeh man still riding. Literally just got back from a ride out and saw your comment. Haven’t got the virago anymore, never got round to doing a vlog on it. As you can tell I haven’t done a vlog for a long time. Back in 2017 personal times were tough and I just lost my way with vlogging. Hopefully get back into it sometime. Thanks for watching ✊
Alreet mate, hope ya well. I actually tried to do a vlog last week but when watching it back it was breaking up every few seconds. Haven’t figured out what’s wrong. Not sure if it’s the GoPro or the laptop 🤷♂️ Got a few a did a couple of years ago that I haven’t edited yet so I’ll get round to looking at those and see if it does the same. I’ll do my best ✊
Hi Ryan mate. Yes I would recommend it in a heartbeat. I loved that bike and I regret selling it every time I recall the awesome rides I had on it. At the time I was very narrow minded in wanting a big bike after getting my DAS license. But to this day I wish I still had it. It was so unique with the the mileage for its age and the pinstripe decal. If I ever come across it again I would buy it back. Hope ya manage to find one mate and I hope it brings you as much joy as it did me. Thanks for watching fella. Tcrs ✊
im saving for a 125cc cruiser right now and booking my CBT as soon as i have the money to instantly buy a bike. This is easily the best video I've watched, to feel your reaction with you. Makes me so so excited for mine - definitely going to film it too, make a memory to never be forgotten. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Johnathan, Glad you enjoyed the video 🤗 That’s awesome that you are on the path to getting on the road. You’ll love it. It was sooo hard to explain the feeling you get. It’s something you have to experience and you’ll never forget it. I can still remember this ride as if it was yesterday. Yeh man get it recorded 😜 I’ve had fun recording my bike life journey, it’s great to look back on. I haven’t done a new video for a long time now but hopefully will get back into it again, life gets in the way 🤣 Good luck mate with your cbt, I’m sure you’ll be fine and you’ll never look back. You’re joining a great world where you’ll meet the best, bikers are friends for life. Thanks for watching mate and enjoy the ride of your life ✊
Cheers. Yeh it was very unique and it actually covered the whole bike. It started on the back mudguard and went all the way to the front. Thanks for watching.✊️
@@Doticaster Thank you. I'm okay thank you. I've had more planned surgery in October so recovering from this. I'm a long way from riding again but hopefully I'll be there one day. I'm missing Cumbria badly. All the best.
@@npr1300A8 good to hear your recovering well mate. Keeping the positive thought of looking forward to riding again will keep you going. Yeh man its nice this time of year round here, when you get that crisp bright morning and no wind. Hope you have a Coolio crimbo mate. All the best .
I plan to buy the honda rebel, yamaha dragstar, yamaha virago, or suzuki marauder, all 125s. Some advices or comparison for all them? Thanks a lot man. Now it will be winter so ill probably go for the license in the spring, lol. Btw im 16 and i love cruisers, i liked keeway superlight 125 but the friend who rides a virago told me to go only for the big brands, yamaha, suzuki, honda, kawasaki if i want my motorcycle to last long and if i want to do some serious riding, then dont buy the keeway and the kymco one i saw. Any advices would be great, thank you dude!
Hey Ivano. That's awesome that you're getting into biking. Yeh man, your mate is right, stay away from anything that's not a big brand, especially anything Chinese!! In my opinion the Dragstar is the coolest looking. My second choice would be the Virago, then the Marauder and lastly the Rebel. All good bikes though and bullet proof. Try and find one with low as possible mile on the clock and find one that's been well looked after. For me, I would also try and find one that hasn't been modified in any way, try and find one that is all original. A good one will last you for years. Yeh man, its getting a bit cold now, not too bad with all the right gear on. But its easier to learn in the spring weather. Hope you manage to find the perfect one for you. Welcome to the brotherhood dude. Tcrs fella✊️
@@Doticaster holy crap dude, didnt realize you will react right now😂😂 thanks a lot friend, just now im talking to that friend, he said the dragstar is pretty cheap and that for the learning purposes virago is the best for him. We would say for ex that virago is a mustang, gsxr is a lambo and dragstar is like a truck judging by its stability and etc. Does a year of the used bike matter a lot? My friend said that it doesnt, that newer bikes that are fucked up are worse then a garaged used bike. Also, should i have a windshield? Does that matter a lot or what? In my opinion its good, because at speeds like 90 and 100 kmh you dont have to hang on your bars like a horse without the windshield. Hope you reply to this too. Legend.
@@ivanokriletic2428 No worries, I always try and reply. It comes down to personal preference in the end mate. For me the Dragstar is the king, its bullet proof and I found it has the best centre of gravity. The bikes you are looking at are all very similar. It depends what appeals to you. Age doesn't really come into it. Its the condition and how many miles its done is what you should keep a look out for. As I've said they are bullet proof but you want one that's been well looked after and preferably garaged. A windshield is a good idea for any long trips you plan on doing. It keeps you warmer when cruising and the flies away. If you can find one that comes with saddle bags, even better! Tcrs fella✊️
@@Doticasterthanks mate. I dont know from where are you, but i hope its okay to use metric system? I have 70 kilograms and 170cm is my height. Im not really sure if i should look for motorcycles based on my height and weight, and i also wanted to ask about honda shadow 125. It look pretty heavy and im not sure if it is that way, but on the other hand maybe it isnt? I have a lot to do before buying a motorcycle, and im not even sure if i can go for the license now, or on november, when its my bday. Im not sure if i can do it because the cold weather is coming soon and if you look you will see that i dont have anything lmao. Helmet, gear, license, bike, nothing. Im kinda sad that it will take a long time before i could do all that, because its also pretty much expensive, everything. Still thanks for the advices and one more thing, what do you think about kawasaki vulcan AND eliminator 125? And what does tcrs mean?😅
Lol yeh man. It can be pretty grim up north to. It’s come in handy many times. Glad you found the review useful, thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching. Tcrs fella ✊
Awesome mate. Is it the exact same bike or one like it? Yes mate they’re are getting hard to find especially a good one. I’m sure you’ll have many happy days on it✊
Einar Don’t worry mate. When you get going you’ll realise it’s very light and manoeuvrable and agile. Practice your slow riding whilst applying a bit of rear brake and your confidence will grow. ✊
Hi I comment on old videos. : D XV in good condition!! You got it! Would you like to play MotoVlog recently? It's fun to ride a motorcycle! Now there are various restrictions due to coronavirus. Safe and secure. Thank you my friend (^^)/
Lol all comments are very welcome old or new. Yeh the Xv was in great condition, but sadly no I don't still have the bike. I wish I did, I should never have sold it. Haven't done a vlog for a while now, 2016 to 2019 were very difficult years for me and I haven't quite got my energy back to go and do a video. I'll be back , one day.. Yes due to the virus it's difficult at the moment. Tcrs stay safe fella ✊
Absolute lad! This is exactly what I was looking for! I’m 39 myself, used to ride as a kid but never roads and been thinking about doing it. Totally convinced after this! Is it a virago 125 you’re riding?
Coolio dude. Glad I convinced you. Riding off road is awesome fun, but there's something about the feeling of the open road that you just can't explain. Go for it dude. The bike was the Dragstar XVS125. Lovely to ride and great to get started on. To this day I wish I still had the bike. They are becoming hard to get hold of. Good luck to you mate, hope you find the bike for you. Tcrs fella ✊
Hey dude. Yes, most definitely. If its the cruiser route you want to go then this is prefect for getting you going and really not just for beginners, it would last you a long time. A lot of people move on to bigger bikes but still keep the smaller ones as they are so easy to ride and a lot of fun. Because they are so light and easy to ride they give you a great start in your bike life journey. The only problem is they are becoming hard to find and the for reasons mentioned above the prices are rising. Good luck in your journey to a bikers life. Hope you find one, search all the sites. I found mine on ebay. Thanks for watching fella✊️
Iain Taylor Dude.....Do it!!! It’ll be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make and I mean that honestly. You’ve watched the right video. Remember the feeling I tried to put into words. It’s the most weird but awesome feeling you can have and you can’t put it into words. You can only feel it. Once you get on two wheels, you’ll meet the best people in the world. Start going to bike nights and rally’s. Join your local MAG group. Do those three things and you’ll make friends that will do anything for you, help you with anything. It’s a brotherhood. Anything you want to know mate just ask and I’ll maybe see you in a field one day. But at the end of the day mate, do it✊ A car moves the body, a bike moves the soul✊
Hey dude, yeh I often wonder that myself. She went to a dealership 70 miles away from me so no idea. Now I'm in position to be able to run third bike, I ve always said if I see her again, I'll buy back. Just hope she's under cover, dry and warm and being looked after if the opportunity ever came up. I've actually got a search notification setup on certain bike sites and eBay. Ya never know, lol. Tcrs fella ✊
Gorgeous scenery, Stunning looking bike.. I know it's not about speed, especially on a heavy cruiser, with not much power to weight ratio, but.... Did you ever get over 50mph...? If so, was it an age before it got to say 55-60mph..? Cheers.
Cheers dude. Yeh she'd do 64mph, that's what remember getting and 70 down hill with the wind behind you. But yes you did need a bit of a decent run after you got to about 50-ish, needed plenty of road left to get her further, lol. But like I've said, not interested in speed what so ever. I enjoy sitting armchair like, able to take in the scenary as you mentioned and enjoy the ride. If you go to fast you miss all that. Tcrs fella ✊
Gorgeous, Stunning bike for sure, but why did you choose an 1100 over the over cc's Virago models..? Any particular reason..? I love the 125's because they do the job, do a million miles to the gallon, are simpler to work on, cost pennies to insure, etc... Will get a 250 as next stage up, but would always keep the 125's as sooo much fun...
Alreet fella. Kinda answered this in my previous reply, lol. Even though this was a later choice it's purely for the ease at which she cruises fully loaded up. Just makes the ride more pleasant. I tried rallies on the 125 and yeh it took all the gear and got me there. But the strain on the bike was too much plus the constant gear changes fatigued myself. My mate has the 250, nice bike and yes Mr Britsniper, sooo much fun. Tcrs fella ✊
Areet Marra.. How's it garn.? I used to live out in God's country (Cumbria) now live in Norn Iron.. Served here in the bad old, good old days (80's) Anyway, I've been riding a YBR125 I bought for my oldest son, as he's living in Cumbria (whilst he did Uni there, and hasn't had time to re-do his CBT.. He had a slow as feck Suzuki Marauder, but sold it. I told him Yammy all the way, so got him the YBR, I WANTED to get him a XVS125, but REALLY expensive nowadays, bet you wished you'd kept that stunning example you had...!! Why ever get rid of it.? I hear you got a heavy 1100 version.. Why not just up to a 250cc version..? The speed limit is still attainable on a 250 and cost less to run, surely..? I've clocked up just over 5,000 miles (all throughout this last Autumn storms, hurricanes, etc and ALL winter) on the YBR, now ready for the big licence, but for the Stay Indoors plan... Will keep the wee 125 YBR (for Son re-doing CBT) then I plan on getting a 250cc Virago or XVS as they're known.. Gorgeous looking bikes.!
Alreet dude, how goes it. Yeh Cherry was an awesome bike loved it to bits. I've said in many of my vids speed is not important to me at all, just riding and cruising along. She was a stunning example and yes I wish could have afforded to keep the bike. But at the time I was doing a lot of rallies and charity rides and it was just too much hard work for the wee girl being fully loaded up with enough gear for the weekends away. So I had to go bigger for what I was going to use the bike for. Plus doing hundreds of miles fully loaded up wasn't good my own well being either, it was very stressful on the body. Sweet the ybr is nice machine, it's what I did my cbt on too. Yeh your right the prices of the XVS has gone up a lot in the last few years they've very sort after. Which is understandable, they're good bikes that will run forever. Thanks for the sub Tcrs fella Stay safe Dotty✊
I just bought one, same color, 19 years old, 36000 on the clock, engine and gears are smooth , changed the oil and filter, , new front disk and rear wheel as the rear brake was so worn out it had damaged the drum which is part of the wheel, welded a couple of rust spots on the frame. Now she’s sweet .
Awesome dude, she does sound sweet. I loved mine. Still wish I'd kept it, I'll be buying it back if I ever see it again. I'm sure you'll have many "coat hanger in mouth" miles ahead of you. Thanks for watching. Tcrs✊️
Whats the odds, thinkin about gettin a 125 cruiser so i watch this... i live in the north east and you drove past me dads house who lives bloody miles away in ulverston! Haha it must be destiny telling me to get a bike ;)
Ha, Niceone. Do it man, it'll be the best thing you'll ever do. The freedom is real and so is the feeling. Listen to the voice 😜 Thanks for watching and good luck ✊
The uhhhhh gear uhhhhh shiuhhhhhhhfter uhhhhhh uhhhhhh. A lot uhhhhhhh better uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Clock on it uhhhhhhhhhhhhh Uhhhhhh fuel gauge down at the bottom. Uhhhhhhh Uhhhhhhh Uhhhhhhh Uhhhhhhh My gosh, please say a sentence without saying “uhhhhhh”. Overall great video though. Haha
Hey Gary. There's no real science to it all. The pocket is basically a stuff sack. The method I use is I grab the ends of the legs and literally start stuffing it in. Dead easy mate. Thanks for watching fella. Tcrs✊️
@@Doticaster Have you got to pull the bag inside out? There zero instructions or anything. Didn't even realise it was there until i watched this video. Edit** I just tried and it ripped.
@@NikiHunwick Hi Nick. Yeh mate. The should be a strap inside that fits round your waist like a bum bag. So that should be on the outside after you’ve finished stuffing it in. Hope that helps mate. Thanks for watching ✊
Hey Echo dude. Thank you so much for your concern. Not going to lie, the last couple of years have been difficult and it all came to a head round about when I did the last vlog. I then just had no motivation, plus I've couldn't afford the internet so I had to cancel it. Haven't got it back yet. But life has turned around and I can now see light at the end of the tunnel. Many things have changed since my last vlog. So hang in there dude and you have no idea how much it means that you and all my other subs have stuck with me in the absence. I plan to come back as soon as I can. Take it fella Abysinya✊️
Hi, I am an A2 beginner coming from a 125 scooter. I have made like 15 test rides with A2 bikes already and last week I was finally able to try out the Vulcan S in A2 version. Guess what? Now I am hooked!!! Do you still have it and are you still happy with it? Btw, my test ride vid is coming out one week from now :)
Niceone fella, good on ya. The Vulcan is a great bike and I can tell why you're hooked. I don't have mine anymore I'm afraid. I kept it for a year but I then traded it for something else. I haven't done my reasons vid or any vid for that matter for a while as I don't have the internet at the moment. It would be a great first bike for you. I did love mine but there were just a few things that didn't make me keep it. The seat was one reason. After about 100 miles or an hours riding it did feel a bit uncomfortable. You can get better seats for them tho. I also had trouble getting boot around the gear selector but that won't be the same for everyone. Take it out for a good ride and try it out properly. In a nutshell they are a great bike. They've got all the toys and gadgets and they are fast and handle great. If you get on with it, it will last you a long time. Thanks for watching mate. Hope it all goes well for ya. Anything ya wanna know just ask. Tcrs✊️
Coolio cheers mate. Yeh I remember that ride like it was yesterday. Love little ol Cherry. Awesome bike and you wouldn't regret it if you do end up with one. So much fun to ride and once I got rid of the L plates everybody always thought it was a big bike. They were always shocked when I told them it was only a 125. Get on eBay and start looking😜 Thanks for watching dude✊️
Coolio dude. That's awesome, chuffed for ya mate. It's the best feeling in the world isn't it. And I bet when you've tried to explain the feeling, you can't,lol. Enjoy it mate, more great times ahead for you. Tcrs fella✊
Check out the new AJS cruisers. Yes, they are made in China but their quality is really good. Also, their newest “Highway Star” has got twin cylinder 125cc engine.
Awesome, glad you enjoyed the video. The way it made you feel is exactly the reason why I've stuck to that setup. I see it as the "real POV" Thanks for watching fella✊️
Cheers mate. Yeh the sound the engine makes on these is great, nice and throaty for a 125. My 1100 Virago sounds great. I too regret selling the 125 Dragstar. I loved the bike, wish I hadn't sold it. Hope you manage to get yours soon mate. Tcrs fella✊️
@@Doticaster 1100 Virago... magnifique.
Yes mate, totally agree. The feeling you get when riding is unexplainable, but the best feeling in the world and bikers are some of the best people you'll ever meet. It's a brotherhood. Don't be in a hurry to get a bigger bike, enjoy your 125. No matter what size bike you have you can still only go at the speed limit. It doesn't matter what you ride, all that matters is that you do ride ✊️
Cheers fella and coolio on passing your cbt, welcome to the brotherhood. You won't regret getting a cruiser mate, comfy, practical and lets face it they are just cool and you'll look cool on it. Shame about you not having a gate, I guess that means you'll have to leave it on the road? It'll be reet with some quality chain and disc lock. Tcrs fella✊️
Doticaster thanks mate appreciate the welcome, I have a front garden and will have to get the bike locks and thinking of a bike shed but I’ll have to save first, but thanks again keep cruising man and ride safe
I know exactly what you mean. Mostly had cruisers (Yam XV750, Triumph America, Kawa Vulcan 900, couple of Midnight Stars 950's). But I'd reached 60+ years old, and my knees and body weren't so good so I decided to get something lighter. A Suzuki SV650 (light, great engine, murderous seat) and a Yam 650 Diversion (preferred twins, poor seat again) came and went last summer. So in September I bought a scooter to get me through this winter (I ride all year round) and to save some pennies for a bike this spring. And, the bike I seemed to overlook was the Vulcan S 650, probably because it wasn't a V-twin. But at just 500lbs (and feeling much lighter to ride) and with the ability to cruise around looking at the scenery or to be able to have a bit of a blast, this bike seems to have the best of both worlds. Can't wait to get one in the spring for touring. I'm glad you enjoy yours. Good reviews. Ride safe mate.
Cheers mate. Glad you liked the review and vid. Wow, you've got an amazing bike history there. You won't be disappointed with the Vulcan S. You might want to test the seat out though, lol. It's my only real complaint about the bike. It's ok for a hundred mile or about an hour. But after that you definitely need to stretch your legs. I'm going to do a 1year ownership review for my next vid. Haven't had the time due to life issues recently hence the lack of recent content. Thanks for watching. Tcrs fella✊️
Hey dude. I'm in the uk, so the indicator is in "miles" (mph). Glad you enjoyed the vid. I'm hoping to do many more, I've had a dry spell due to personal issues, but stay tuned dude. All the best mate✊️
Как-же приятно смотреть ваши видео. Вы каждый раз все лутьше и лутьше снимаете. Конечно же лайк)))) жалко что можно моставить всего один) давно к вам не заходил но друзей не забываю всегда рад дружбе)))))))))
Got a Vulcan 900 which I cannot stand when riding on the highway at 110km/h+. The vibration and the feeing of the engine about to explode drive me nuts, I wonder if the smaller but sportier 650 engine inline twin will be better at high speed cruising...
I feel your pain mate. I to looked at the Vulcan 900 when I was getting rid of the MT 09 tracer. But I watched so many reviews on RU-vid on the Vulcan 900 that I was put off it for exactly the reasons you mention. If you fancied the Vulcan S you would not regret it mate. I'm sure you know the engine is out of the ninja and it certainly performs, it won't rip your arms off but if you open it up you definitely have to hang on!! It does everything really well. I've been to rallies on it fully loaded up with luggage and it was great and it's perfect for ride outs as well as just nipping to the shops on. It's easy to ride, handles like a dream. Only two things I don't like about the Vulcan S, which are, the seat. The seat is not the comfiest, after about 100mile you're ready for a break and a walk about to stretch your legs. The othe is the gear shifter lever, I find it fairly difficult to get my boot around it to change up, but I've got used to it now. And of course there is the ergo fit system which is awesome. You'll be able to get the bike to fit you perfectly. Go and have a sit and a test ride mate. I don't think you'd be disappointed. Tcrs fella ✊
About 98% of the folks complain about the Vulcan S' seat. it sucks that here in Canada most dealers won't let you even test ride any so unless I find someone around me that has one I'll have to just take a leap of faith. I'm seriously intrigued by a sport touring engine inside a cruiser's body
That's a bugger mate, it's crazy to not let you test ride. Put a call out on fb, someone might help you out. The seat is fixable, there are plenty of companies that will put some gel in it, I think Corbin is a famous one. I don't think you'd be disappointed mate if you did leap. It's got the speed of a sports bike in a comfy frame with all the tools for touring. If you don't find anyone to let you have a go, try and get to a bike show and have a sit. You'll know if it feels right. Tcrs fella ✊
Absolutely! I only have the permission to ride 125 ccm³ ant this is the best and most beautiful bike in this class I know. My bike is now almost 20 years old but I keep it as long as I can.
Cheers mate. I was lucky to find the bike I reckon, especially in the great condition. The other two owners must have mainly had it tucked up in a garage. Glad ya like the vid and cheers for the sub. Tcrs fella✊️
So this bike comes with the gear indicator?? Cause if does I was lied too.. I was in motorcycle dealership yesterday in Las Vegas and I was looking at this bike and the Honda rebel 500 abs and I walked through the whole dealership and every bike I looked I asked if it had a gear indicator and they said cruisers don’t have gear indicators and i was sitting on the bike for 5 Minutes ( the Vulcan) and they told me it don’t come with a gear indicator. So that’s strange and it was a 2018. I walked away because it didn’t have a gear indicator but come to find out it does! Wow great video! I think they were misinformed or something
Cheers dude, glad ya liked the vid. Yeh man gear indicator was a big thing on my list as well as a fuel gauge when choosing. I believe it started on the 2017 models that the gear indicator was inter grated into the dash. The 12v was an extra. So ya gonna go back and get one? I'm well happy with mine. Did my first rally on it a couple of weeks ago and even luggaged up she's still a dream to ride. Thanks for watching. Tcrs fella ✊
Doticaster yes I I’m going to get one but first I want to take a safety course which I will take next week. What was the out the door price ? And I will be paying cash.
Doticaster yes I can’t wait !!!!!!I’m up all night watching videos on how to be safe etc. And all the motorcycle accidents, that when I drive I think I’m on a motorcycle I’m thinking something going to rear end me lol 😂 I’m more aware tho. Thank for your quick replies!
Yeh man. 22 yrs old and not a mark or spot of rust on her anywhere. When I got her there was only 3k miles on the clock. The two previous owners must have used it 2-3 times a year. Tcrs fella✊️
Love it! Those were the bikes that got me to love bikes when I was a young lad! The Honda Magna was my all time dream bike! Would love to have one today.... enjoy her mate, gorgeous looking for sure! ✌️
Cheers dude. Definitely the kinda bike you look back at when you walk away from parking up. The magna are awesome looking to, very similar. Living the dream, it's the way forward, lol. Tcrs fella✊️
Thanks wheels. She's a awesome machine. I reckon you'd fall in love if you had a bash on one. It's great that they can fit the bike to the rider so it's so comfy to ride, it's called the ergo system. Done over 1k miles now so she's all broken in and riding coolio. Tcrs dudette✊️
