Pierhead building was headquarters of the Cardiff Railway company. My great grandfather used to shower in the basement after working on loading the coal ships. Cardiff has a great history and the docks area was very multicultural. Love your shawl colours and congrats on the 10k!
Love your October vlog and the heads up on the mcal. I started on Thursday and made a mistake with the increases and had to really focus around row 25 onwards. Then I was away for the weekend , so will knit again tomorrow. Also have other projects on the go so won't ever be up to date most likely lol
After ripping it out three times - changing my colour order, mis counting stitches, then adding in a chunky 2ply kid mohair stripe - deciding it was too thick, unplying it to a single ply and reknitting again I have finally finished semicircle one - phew!!!
Yay Shawl Dance and Monthly Round-Up! I really enjoy your weekly videos, whatever format they are in, but there is something special about summing up the month in one go in the round-up, especially as I’ve usually forgotten by then what you’ve already finished 😅
wuuhuuu 10.000 congrats. to my surprise I finished clue 1 on saturday and have woven in ends here sunday. And yes I also got tangled a lot. now i can make some progress on some socks and a blanket while a wait for thursday
10k subs!!! congrats!!! I am working on my third semicircle right now and seeing how my friends suffer with the wool mess, as you said. A friend has kept part of her work inside a sock, so she can work without getting the thread tangled. Waiting for next vlog.... thanx a bunch!
hi Martyn! this is Cova from Spain, I love your vlogs and I'm casting on my 'Esteban' mkal, so excited. Love your combination, this year yours and mine are very different, we usually match colors casually. I'm trying to eat better, but I'm too lazy to exercise any recommendations? big hug for Mark and u!
Your colours are amazing 💖💚 😍. Your MKAL is looking great. Congratulations on reaching 10k subscribers. It was through your MKAL Slipstravaganza that I found you all those years ago. Love your podcasts. 🥰
Wow you've fantastically well! I'm hoping to get the triangles done today-so glad I watched this before starting them, then it's back to work so probably won't be able to keep up but I'll try!
Congrats on 10k subs! 🎉 Love the pink and green together in your Go Go Dynamo. Stephen said any cast-on would do when starting the joining. I tried long tail a couple of times and things were just too loose for me. So I decided to do a purl-wise cable cast-on, and it was a game changer for me in terms of controlling tension at the beginning of the joining section. Like you I wrestled with yarn tangles and said some very bad words. 😂 I was not addressing the little tangles at the time they occurred. But generally it’s all going better. October is my favourite month for so many reasons, not the least of which is our wedding anniversary mid month. ~Brenda
Ha ha my yarn also was twisted all over the place including my arm 🙂 a lot of swearing but in the end worth the effort, having a blast! Happy Knitting!
my joining triangles are all incredibly dodgey except for the last one. I had to sneak in 10 stitches on the first one. definitely need to go slow with those ones.
Congratulations on 10k! You are sooo right with the yarn management but it is easy to manage if you’re aware of it, in saying that I was constantly untangling. I have the last triangle left to go so thinking I will be finished on the weekend ❤
Many Congratulations 🍾 10,000 subscribers…..quite the achievement!!! 😇I absolutely love how your shawl is coming along!! I am a bit behind you but I also have had some bad words to say! Very much enjoy your Vlogtober editions….look forward to the next one!
congratulations on the 10K subscribers! you created a lovely community! can I make another suggestion for vlogtober : if Marc wants to make a contribution, he could make welsh cakes or nut-free granolabars. maybe you both could make them together in the style of Arne and Carlos, Carlos telling Arne what to do. would this end in quarreling? It makes me laugh thinking about it. Goodluck with the MKAL, it seems that is started very well this time.
CHEERS 🥂🥂to 10,000 subscribers; well deserved 🥳!! Loving Vlogtober 🎃🍁, as always! Enjoy following your mkal progress; your shawl is looking great ! Take Care!!
Hi Martyn How does Stephen come up with these ideas. Who would have thought to start a shawl like that! Congratulations on the 10K subscribers. It's been fun seeing you grow. Have a fun Sunday. Off to the theatre with our best friends tomorrow. (Sunday). Have a fabulous weekend. xxJane 🐑🌼
Working away on my bobbles section, with this video to keep me company :-) I also had to fudge in 2 extra stitches in at the end of one of the triangles. And I very much relate to the yarn tangle. Maybe I should have woven in my ends before continuing... but I am too excited to pause for something like weaving in ends...
Congratulations on 10K subscribers. Stephen always seems to have a looser tension. I love the fabric you are getting. Very clean and smooth. I'm not doing this MKAL but I am loving watching you and the others as you progress.
Your MKAL looks great. I'm almost done with my first semi-circle. I enjoyed the cast on party Thursday. Thanks for the patience while I figured out my phone's microphone. My colors make me happy. Gun continues! See you next time!
Hey, ten thousand subs! Congrats. I do not know how @StephenWest does it but he's designed another amazing fabric. It's so fun to see it develop. Last month was scorching here = over 40C every day - so I watched all 4 LOTR movies - I still think Jackson and the teams did fabulous work all through it. Martyn, I hope you're taking your vitamins and loaded up on coffee - it's going to be a busy month. You do seem to be enjoying it and that's the point!
Hi Martyn, that looks great! I'm halfway through section 2 and I only watch Stephen's video as far as I have knit to keep the mystery a bit longer 😊. For me it's a lot of knitting but I love how it looks. Congratulations on your 10K!
