Hey there and welcome to the channel! I teach filmmaking and editing techniques for anyone looking to sharpen up on the technical side of the video storytelling process.
Thank you for this. Thankfully the character was mostly in a somewhat dark space and moving slowly so the ghosting isn't really at all noticeable. I even doubled over footage twice and it still helped with flicker even more.

Can you do easy to follow tutorials ( Ideally for noobs ) on Removing Background, Blurring background, Replacing Background, Darkening or lightening background on Combat sports fighters? They tend to strike/move quick and basic magic mask will fail most of the time. It would be great if you could do tutorials magic masking on Boxers , Kick-boxers, Muay Thai fighters, MMA fighters, Lethwei fighters, Karate fighters, etc. At least in Slow motion footage if it's unachievable in real time. Thanks.
@@DominicKrupp Hey after masking when I'm rendering the video in 4K its crashing but rendering in FHD. Maybe its beyond my laptop's ability or maybe I can tweak some settings so that I can export in 4K. My laptop is Asus Ryzen5, Nvidia GTX 4 GB, 24 GB ram, 3TB ssd. Can you help?
It's worth a shot. You could check out my reel on how to setup a proxy workflow inside of Davinci Resolve here: ru-vid.comBwKEgeKzzKI?si=PquuXxq7ux8DbtPX
Unfortunately, this technique does not work with all types of footage but is a great first, free attempt to see if it works. If you have Davinci Resolve Studio you could try out one of the effects built right into Resolve Studio. Watch this video to see how to do that: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s3KJjOO0ons.htmlsi=ApnCR1QGwwpHXnh0
@@Moosiest-1231 probably because this is only a feature in Resolve Studio and I didn’t tell people that ahead of time before they watched the video, haha
There are definitely more tools to use in Fusion that allow for more control over your track. For certain clips I like using the Magic Mask in the color page because you can quickly change the color of something or adjust levels
Is there a way to retain or add your shadows back..like if a person is dancing or walking on the street especially a bright day like there are shadows but using magic masking and using a different background loses those shadows..no longer cast shadows…is there a way to retain or do you have an example? Or maybe u could make another tutorial on that….meaning dumping the original background and using a different scene that still requires the subject to cast shadows on the ground to make it believable that his actually there…thankx
Working in a music video and im using different background scenes to place my subject in from one shot to the next it would be cool to see how u do this…
Noob question: is what you just did in this video the same thing as other commenters below when they are referencing the "deflicker effect"? Does DVR have an anti-flicker function built-in?
