How does this stack up against the sidewinder 35-640? As far as monocular performance only, which one do you like the best? Better image quality? Range detection? Thanks!
Without testing them side by side in harsh conditions its hard to say but id suspect that it would be quite a difference as the xg has 40mk sensor and xp the 18mk sensor. Lower is better particular in harsh humid conditions
@@thermalhuntingexperts Just curious if there's a real world difference. Quite often, theory/manufacturer claims don't coincide with reality. Love to see a comparison.
Great video on the alpex, most comprehensive one on youtube!! I just bought an alpex the other day, used a 1pc mount and put it on my rifle which had 20moa rail. Got my 243 zerod at 100m just but took a hell of a lot of moving the reticle up. Now its quite high above centre of the screen and as soon as i zoom past 3.5x base mag i cant see my lrf anymore. I guess this is due to the 20 moa rail.? I also noticed in the box there is almost like ring sticker pads supplied, is that to shim on the rimgs to help align lrf box do you think? Thanks.
Hi mate, Id say that its your 20 MOA rail causing this at a guess. I've played with 20 moa and 0 moa on many thermals and night vision and at least on my rifle I've found the 20 moa to require a lot more reticle movement.
@@thermalhuntingexperts I swapped the rail for a 0 moa and it improved things, still the lrf is below reticle but not by so much, I can see box on 3.5 and 7 mag. 👍
@@stephenoshea1166 Awesome News. The LRF wont appear dead centre on reticle it will be off centre that's normal and you may not see it at all when zooming in. Base mag you should be able to see it good.
Awesome review mate, the tip about turning off mobile service saved me after two hours of aggravation. I can't believe that's not advertised more in the instructions etc. Great stuff. Cheers
Great reviews.... better than many other guys. Thanks for getting to the business, and showing actual footage rather than just droning on with the camera on you.
Had the top spec one. Sold it after about two months. Image quality okish. But it was poorly designed. When carrying rifle wrist would bump on on my wrist and change setting. Frustrating as hell. Went for a pulsar and that is miles better.
