This was good including the fact that 1 they were probably still new to point 2 they had a ton of other things to learn besides this variation 3 they learned this in only a few weeks and I bet all the people saying they did bad don’t to ballet I have done ballet for 8 years and I’m still an intermediate dancer and I can say this dance is hard as heck even without pointe shoes
This is an excerpt from La Bayadere, it’s one of the Gamzatti’s variations just before Nikiya’s death ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fZKAW1AfJ8I.html
i do ballet and i’m 15 and thinking of quitting. remember it’s not all fun, it’s awful for my mental health and body image, so there’s always downsides! don’t feel too bad :(
2nd girl on left side of screen is having trouble synching w the other 3 girls. She's the newest member or something? You cannot be even a smidgion off in this number!
2nd girl on left is about 2 years younger than other ladies and all 4 ladies learned this during a 4 week summer intensive; so considering that, not a bad learning experience.
They dont look older than 17, so very well done. For comments saying it's not a proper training, I d say, maybe we re watching the coda, the last part of the class, where students try the more difficult kind of turns (fouettés, Italian fouettés, manège and whatever they fancy) in a somehow athletic and flashy manner, just to build stamina and confidence. It's s great way to learn; not to be interrupted/ corrected but go for it until you can't move at all.
Thank you! They were 13-15 yrs. at the time; the young lady in foreground was 14. And Yes at the end of class, the faculty will sometimes say you choose arms that are most comfortable for you, etc. They teach the Vaganova method at this school. The artistic director graduated from Maryinsky (Kirov).
Ikr... I can’t get these “wannabe dance teachers” of the internet. Clearly they are all talented dancers who already have a great teacher to teach them what they need to learn!
They look good, but why are they all doing different arms? Some are keeping the right arm up the whole time while others are switching in the attitude. Is this a drop-in class or something? Edit: Only the girl in the skirt (very front) is switching the arms. Both ways are correct but it’s weird how they aren’t taught uniformly.
Yes, true and possible, during a 4 week summer intensive; they rehearsed at least 3 times a week with faculty as well as on their own when they could. They learned this as well as 4 other pieces during the intensive.
That is to the right. It's like a right pirrouette the right leg comes up into passe and is on our left leg but wether we turn inwards (to the left) or outward( to the right) it is still a right pirrouette
Their dancing skills are great, it's very difficult and they just had a couple of weeks. ut the timing could have been better. Either way amazing! but a bit late to comment on that..hehehe
