I’ve got some landscaping advice, but I also ride the 32 inch advantage from Scagg and I will say this I do not drop my gate for under $50. This is not happening brother those lawns are like 50-65$ imo
I cut grass all season, plant trees off season. Own my house, own both my cars, married and have kids. I'm not self employed. It's good money of you work for a good company. It's hard work sometimes but if you can stick it out It's one of the best jobs if you like being outdoors with a good bunch of people.
Brother i get minimum 50$ per man an hour so that said the job took an hour and a half with two men working that would be three work hours times up by 50 $150 for the job
Cutting grass is a great yeah to make cash. I pay someone to cut my grass when I'm on vacation and it's pricey. It's like 75 bucks for my double lot. Probably takes an hour max when you factor in sting trimming.
I’ve heard good things about the Superior kit. Although my TPV looked like it would be a huge pain to open up. Plus I didn’t have any snap ring pliers handy
FYI you can tell if yours is the updated factory version. Look at the bottom of the TBV @ 8:40 in video. It will have "70" stamped into it. If it has the stamp that means they replaced the old one and your g2g! Changing out the original TBVs on these transmissions is a must if you want them to last.
Yup I have no idea what GM was thinking when they made the stock TBV to only open at 195°. Absolutely cooked my 6L80 and it blew up on me at 150k miles
When I found out about this I immediately went to the steelership and got the updated version , I noticed a huge drop in temp from 195 to maybe 165 , it works and is worth every penny .
If you just explain to your customer the time that is involved in the extra work, then you can adjust your price to cover the extra time involved in doing a first time cut that may be overgrown.
Yeah usually minimum is $40 or $45 near me but I have a couple neighborhoods where I do 6-7 yards in a row and I like to price those at $35 in hopes of getting a bunch of neighbors to sign up. Then next year raise everything to $40.
What is the recommended service hours limit for commercial mowers? Just a range as I'm sure it varies by brand. Also, why is it that important? Is it a reference for rebuild or replace scheduling? Or just a standard for the accountants in actuality?
Scag recommends changing engine oil every 100 hours and hydraulic oil every 500 hours. Some mowers come from the dealer with anywhere between 100 and 500 hour warranty. Some people will unplug the hour meter in order to “extend” their warranty. Those same people will also unplug it if they are planning on selling the machine in the near future and keep the hours low. Scag mowers can last anywhere between 2000-4000 hours before they need an engine replacement but if you are buying a secondhand machine it could be worn down more than you are led to believe.
Probably closer to 5k to be honest. Hour meters are great but I always take them as part of the whole puzzle. Solid video, probably saved someone some dough
That's how you seize an engine. The maintenance is done by the hour, not by the miles like in a conveyance. Anyone who does that is asking for huge karma
Awesome!! Congrats on the new mower! I have never ran the 52, we run a 32, 48, and 61 Vride on our main mowing trailer but the 36 52 combo is a killer two mower setup
I agree! Sounds like a nice setup you’ve got aswell. I’ve only got 2 properties I service where it would be nice to have a 61, but the 52 tackles them pretty well.
Agreed. Buddies of mine keep trying to get me to switch to Echo trimmers, but Stihl equipment is all I’ve ever used. Maybe I’ll make the switch one day.
You did a great job that first yard was no joke I have noticed those v rides do great on hills don’t know the pitch of the slope you were working on but keep up the great work!
Thanks! If I had to guess, the pitch was probably somewhere around 60°. I can usually can do around 45-50° with the V Ride as long as I go slow. That house is a new build so they are going to have the developer grade it out more and I’m only mowing half the back yard until then.
Got the v ride 2 48 and the v ride 2 61 with the vanguard love them both great purchase for your business have another 61” tiger cat 2 that I Love as well I take those covers off
Thank you for this tutorial. I really do appreciate it. I just picked myself up a 32 advantage and because I’m in residential area it’s the best purchase I’ve thought of.
The smaller V Rides with the Advantage deck are tanks. I got called out to cut down a vacant lot that had 6 foot tall overgrowth and my 36” V Ride knocked it all down. Hope you like yours
Hey, I believe that because you said you have already 70 yards, you can start to think about hiring someone at least part time, and so you can test how can your u handle someone helps you a bit, and also figured out how to scale your capacity. Is just a suggestion, great content keep doing it. 👍, we had a lot of rain here in Texas too, but a lot this week I had 4 days with rain. Today is a working day for me
Definitely looking into some part time help! I’ve got a buddy of mine that does about 30 yards a week and he’s pretty free on Fridays. Want to work something out with him. We tag teamed 15 yards in about 5 hours the other day.
Just out of curiosity, what year is you date of manufacture? I have a 2019 model 91r same problem for the past 4 years. I’ve always opened the tank to release the pressure but it’s getting old doing this. I’m gonna have to try it out. It almost seemed like a messed up carb or clogged spark guard.
Mine is model year 2023. I bought it brand new last year and had issues with it from day 1. It’s been a few weeks since I replaced that fuel tank vent and it has been running great since
From my perspective, going forward from where I’m at I would agree. I’m not taking on new yards that require a 36” very often. But for someone just starting out that doesn’t do very many yards, I think they should have a 36” so they can add on virtually any customer and grow their business.
