Is the ferry still running between the Venezuelan mainland, Margarita, Trinidad, St Vincent, Barbados and St. Lucia? I spent 4 months in St. Vincent in the summer of 1993. I then took that ferry to Port of Spain where I then spent 8 months.
What I recently read that there was an exchange of Patios island from Trinidad to Venezuela for Soldado Rock from Venezuela to Trinidad. This was by the British Govenor of Trinidad at that time and the Venezuela Government.
Trinidad was no part of Venezuela, it was part of Spain from 1498 to mid/late 1700' where the British came and conquer over the Spaniards and the French. You all lack of proper history.
How far back do you want to go? We were part of the continent. Same Spanish administration for 299 years, and very much a part of the Venezuelan history.
@King Scorpion Well.....this was over 2 yrs ago and again this island (Trinidad) was no part of Venezuela and it was still under the Spanish rule in the 1800''s.
@@halfers83 He means that Colombia, Venezuela or Trinidad and Tobago were once the same country, and the answer is yes, they were, when they were Spanish colonists, in fact, in eastern Venezuela, customs and traditions that exist in Trinidad such as carnival are still preserved. His music is soca and calypso. In Trinidad, in Lopinot, Paramin, Venezuelan traditions are also preserved, such as the music they play parang at Christmas as in Venezuela.
@@carlos-ub6gx Trinidad and Tobago was not part of Venezuela and Colombia but under Spanish rule back in the early 1500's but later on Venezuela, Colombia and Panama was called Gran Colombia after Christopher Columbus.Spaniards came here on their third voyage after discovered Hispaniola two times before went to South and Central America. Do proper investigation my friend because we know the history.
The standard of road paving is pathetic. The roads are getting higher and higher, and the drain/curb area is in shambles. There is no standard, and contractors apparently do anything that they please, and get paid. Roads are in need of a total redesign to modern safety standards, and street parking needs to be banned, or by permit only. Governance is non-existent, and drivers are reckless.
P Latchman I agree with you. These things are allowed to happen. Because the people are silent. They bark at the petty things. And not things that would make a difference in their lives. Another thing is. They never acknowledge the good that is done by either party. Or separate the bad, instead the lump everyone together. If things are not done to international standards. The people need to make their voice heard. These things are not acceptable in the U.S. because people would call their local representative. Trinis just complain in silence. Then they bring politics into it. Lots needs to change. But the people need to mature. And act like grownups.
The People's University 😊😊👍 I haven't been in that square in so many years. So what is being done with the *Red House* 🏚 ? You were just on time to capture the chimes from the Anglican church! Excellent!!! Happy Friday!
Stiff fines, would take care of that. Why people who live on the avenue . Lobby for the sidewalks to get fix. It’s embarrassing to watch a video, and see how dilapidated the sidewalks looks
Esther, fines don't work. The fine is TT$2K, as they turn right onto a one way street that goes the other way. They have come in the past and given out tickets, but it is a systematic problem. The solution is a barrier, as there is no need for vehicles to come up that street. Don't think that it will ever be done though. The contracts to have sidewalks repaired are plagued with corruption. Kickbacks are paid to officials, and the work get's done shoddily, or if there is not enough money involved in a particular job, it never goes out for bidding.
P Latchman , they try to give contracts to handy men. Their lies the problems. Just to satisfy the base. Both party does it. That’s why you get shoddy work. Most are not skilled in that field. A waste of taxpayers money. I was bored last week. And sit and watch an old video of yours . Around wood brook / ariapita Ave. I always enjoy them. But those sidewalks is a pet peeve of mines. Continue filming!
The regional Corporation does nothing! That being said, it's amazing to watch nature at work. Within 4 days, it all dries down, and leaves a little residue. During those 4 days, many things happen, including a cycle of sand deposits and erosion, with the tides.
Sunday bike ride or not. No disrespect some cities are just better looking than some!!! I'm from Castries St Lucia and i think Ocho Rios Jamaica had a better looking water front city than my city because I'm just honest like that.
Evans Andall, I understand, but it's not about more buildings--- it's about world class visually appealing cities that fit comfortably in a "first-world" state like Florida for example. It's not about size. I would also add cities like Hamilton ( Bermuda), Georgetown ( Grand Cayman), and Nassau Bahamas.
anthony Francis as if your opinion really matters factually ur incorrect Dominica Republic capital not bridgetown it's clean as most tourists dependent countries has a old colonial look and feel that's about it but Port of Spain is more developed than Bridgetown dude is much bigger better infastuctures more busy and influential he didn't go to most of downtown POS actually poor visual more of road I'm seeing than buildings.
