Ok I understand you are not teaching the chords for this song nor are you teaching at al you just want show off, that is fine but don’t put the the heading “how to play By Your Side By Sade” stop confusing people with that frigging nonsense heading..
This song is not for beginners. Music is complex and beautiful and cannot be explained in a few minute video. Playing guitar properly and understanding the dynamics takes time. I am demonstrating in real time how the song should sound if played correctly and with the correct tuning. if I was misleading, then what I am playing wouldn't sound at all like the recording would it? Anyone who is advanced enough and has good listening skills can see what chords and fingering I am using. The trick to this particular song is tuning all strings down 1/2 half step and arpeggiating the chords properly. If you are in standard tuning and playing in Key of C, then tuning down 1/2 step would be C flat. If you don't know what those things mean, then you may want to consider taking lessons before trying to play something like this.
You can contact my friend who is my teacher and composer, He may have the tab. If not, he can certainly write out the chord progression for a fee. You can reach him thru his website at jeffrey-thomas.com/ .. Tell him George sent you. Best of luck...
I figured out the chord progression with the help of my friend who is a composer. You can find many free tabs he's worked out at www.jeffrey-thomas.com. Best of luck.
@@guitarragarcia Thank you very much for your response. I'll have a luck on the tabs of your friend and have a look on the way you play it. Meanhwile I found this version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hFKNb4EtEgw.html. It seems to be the same chord progression but without the finger picking pattern and in a different key but he added a free tab, so I might try to merge the two versions: chord progression of other tab and the finger picking pattern you play. Best of luck as well to you for your further guitar playing!
It sound so beautiful. It’s no coincidence that Selena was given such a beautiful and timeless song to record. And it’s no coincidence that after so many years have passed since her death a guitar acoustic version has been made.
If you would like to know the specific chords and fingerings I am using, you can reach out to my composer friend. He helped arrange the song for me. He can be reached thru his website at www.jeffrey-thomas.com. Best of luck.
Man I haven’t picked up my guitar in years but I think I’m gonna get back into it because DAMN this just made me cry. I forgot how beautiful a nylon string sounds and especially with Selena. 🥺🥺
Songs that are written specifically for guitar have been arranged in such a way that playing the song just flows. Most are easily playable for me once I can figure out the proper sequence of notes and chords. I can however find it difficult sometimes when I find a tune that was originally arranged to be played on piano, and then find the proper sheet music that has translated the piano chords into guitar chords (comping). When you take piano chords and try and play the exact sequence on the guitar it can feel or seem awkward because the chord shapes that would need to be played on guitar don't seem natural. I recently started learning Chopin - Nocturne op.9 No.2 that was comped for guitar and found it rather difficult so I paused and moved onto something else. Eventually I will go back to it when I am inspired enough to push thru. Make sense?
