@lindalary7760 fantastic! That makes me so happy because that’s what I’m all about, helping and inspiring others to live a creative life. Yay! You’ve got this! 😀💖💖🎉🎨
Good to see you , never apologize for taking time for yourself ❤. I have the first book. I got it when I started learning and it overwhelmed me. I should look again 😊 I love books so I don’t mind having it. I may just get more now 😊
Lovely to see you, Selina❤ I’ve had the Colour Scheme one in my cart for yonks and finally pressed to buy button after this 😁 I have had the Spectrum one in my for ages too but I have a lot of books from The Victoria & Albert Museum about fashion and textiles featuring some of the fabrics shown in that book so I just should look in those and not be so lazy 😂 I love how the have the ratios and think I would find that incredibly helpful.
I would think the speed of any blender would create a lot of air bubbles that would be a challenge to remove them all for a smooth plate. Have your water very hot ( mine had cooled too much while I was demonstrating) and you should have no trouble mixing all the ingredients 😊🌷
This was extremely useful to watch and listen. I've been thinking about using oil sticks for a piece I'm working on, and this video has greatly helped! thank you :)
Sending my heartfelt condolences, Selina. I woke up this morning (In NZ) and have been watching your wonderful videos, you are such a calming and inspirational creator. And then of course I came to this video. My heart goes out to you. Losing a loved one, particularly your mum, is painful. Take whatever time you need and receive the love being sent to you by those you give so much to through your art and videos 💗💗💗
Hi, Selina. Me again. I just watched the rest of the video, with the pictures of your mom at the end. She looks like a beautiful lady, inside and out. So sorry for your loss! 💗💗💗
❤❤❤ So sorry, Selina! You never really get used to losing your mother -- at least I haven't, and she died years ago. Now my best friend is dying of cancer. Of course, I'm focussing on her for the moment, but I think when she's gone it'll be my biggest loss ever. Just let your feelings and abilities be what they are as you go on. I know RU-vid will probably penalize you, but we, your YT friends, won't. Big hugs!
I’m so sorry Selina❤❤❤ Big hugs! Happy Birthday too! ❤❤❤ I don’t know if I have mentioned that I have ADHD and my husband is Autistic and the kids are a mix of us both 😁 I just wanted to let you know that sensory issues are not exclusively an autism thing and that my sensory issues are much worse than my husbands so maybe look into ADHD. If you have any questions I’d be happy to chat privately with you when you feel up to it. You take as much time as you need and be kind to yourself my lovely❤❤❤
Thanks so much. And thanks for your kind offer. ❤️ The gift in all of the loss is understanding myself and the child me so much more. Self diagnosis via the internet is not solid footing 😀 but as I said things are making more sense and it has allowed me to be kinder and forgiving to myself. ❤️❤️❤️
@@selinawilsonart Totally! I remember when I was first diagnosed at 44…it made so much sense and gave me such an understanding of myself now, and as a child. I was also greatly relieved to know I really wasn’t like all those other people😂❤ Take care
thank you so much for this, one question ( probably someone already asked but cannot go through all 200 comments) how about drying? that’s the thing I struggle with oil bars 🥹
You’re welcome. I have found some colours take longer than others to dry. Of course how thick you apply the stick will also play a factor. All considered mine are dry within a day or two. 😊🌷
Lovely piece!!! This squares collage technique is so beautiful! Please check out my art channel as well. Hope you like it! Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!
You should photocopy those sketchbook painted grids and then you can just print them off and stick them down for sketching on. You definitely need to make a copy of the larger one because it’s beautiful❤
Hi, I made a gelli plate and after one use it kinda melted. So I melted it, strained it added more gelatine and then actually got about 6 prints out of it. When I started using it, it was still cool from the fridge. Then it broke down again. Layers of it were coming off with the paper......it's about 82 degrees in my art room, warm but I didn't think hot. If there's help out there, I'd sure like to save it. Thanks so much!
Hmmmm. So many questions to try and figure this one out. Did you use my recipe? What type of paint are you using? Are you using any alcohol or mineral based products?
@@selinawilsonart I used water, glycerin and gelatine. 300mls of water and glycerin and 80 grams or more of gelatine. Using acrylic paint , Michaels brand, and used hand sanitizer for cleaning up. Thanks for responding.
@allanandlisafraser8798 ah ok. Thanks for the info. The hand sanitizer will be the most likely cause to your issues. I only use water and fragrance free bamboo baby wipes to clean my plate. The hand sanitizer is far too strong and potent to use on a handmade plate. You might have to start over with a new batch/plate. Good luck 😊💖
I really appreciate your taking the time to explain this to me. Sorry I didn’t see your full answer. I was thinking of melting it down, adding 100ml of glycerin and additional gelatine. Do you think that is a good idea? Is the heat an issue? Thanks again. 😊
It’s fabulous!❤ I could see your determination not to be trifled with when you first laid down that blue 😂❤ the brush stroke texture really conveys the turbulence of the storm clouds! The contrast between the blue and the pastels is great IMO Love it!❤ We’ll done you!
I just made one but a little different recipe but only one side is hard and the other has little fissures in it when I move it because it's not cured all the way. it has been 36 hours and I have no idea what I did wrong!
Hmmmm. My guess would be not mixed enough/properly. Id say nothing is going to change after 36hours unfortunately. My suggestion is to cut away the “set” part and use it if big enough for you or cut the whole thing up, remelt (I have a vlog on that too) and try mixing and setting it again.
