- Our first Internetcafé for seniors with newly arrived youths was started in the summer of 2010, says Gunilla Lundberg, CEO of It-guide. The idea was born when two novices in our mentors-program “World Mentor” asked if we could help them find summer jobs. We wanted to take advantage of the skills they had within the area of computers, IT and mobile phone-devices. Seniors have an interest in computers, but many also have limited knowledge in this specific area and therefore need assistance in their usage. The idea that was born was that these youths could contribute in increasing the digital awareness of seniors. We started to develop IT-Guide.
