0:15 I remember being 10, sitting in my basement with my gamecube, hearing this for the first time and having that "oh shit" moment when it came on. The music in these game just grabs you by the core of your soul and you really feel the weight that the devs intended. Music is so important in videogames. Obviously the gameplay in the prime series is legendary, but I feel like a massive part of why we remember them so fondly is the insanely atmospheric soundtracks. Kenji Yamamoto really understood the vibe 1000%.
When I broke the egg I had like 3 tanks left and I thought "HELL YEAH FUCK YOU EGG" Then I heard the music, saw Samus raise her canon and said "OH FUCK NO"
As a child, this game was a addiction of mine. And this theme defines that addiction, I couldn’t get it out of my head 😅 20 years later, and this theme is as great as ever. Best boss fight of the trilogy!
God this brings back memories of playing 4 players on the Gamecube Super Missiles everywhere vaporizing opponents with the Death Ball trying to blow up together in mid-air by crashing into each other with cannons that turret. that damn giant turret so many good times
_Planetary condition critical, evacuate immediately!_ (Cue Dark Samus wanting her revenge for what happened to her original persona in Metroid Prime 1)
I don’t care what anyone says… This was and still is THE BEST BOSS FIGHT in not only MP2, but in all of the MP franchise as well as one of the best themes!!! Fight me 🥊💪!!!
My favorite Metroid Game. Once I got to the lone Luminoth survivor and I noticed they build their religion around light (like moths to a flame), the entire atmosphere of that dying world clicked super hard with me. The music during that scene helped a lot. The game is like the quality of Metroid Prime 1 on steroids.
This game got so much hate when I was young but I always stood my ground in saying this shit was a masterpiece. The whole concept is of dark and light, the same music being corrupted when you go to the dark world, the different beams. Even the freaking splitscreen multiplayer music was awesome. Amazing game. Amazing soundtrack.
I listen to this remix version a lot and it’s much better than the original remix is amazing and I can’t stop playing it on repeat I feel like this could be used for Metroid movie
I don't have a lot of love for that high-pitched sci-fi synth in these games' music, but I do really love its implementation in this track specifically.
I had only played Fusion and Zero Mission before playing Echoes. When I got to the part where the soldiers get revived and this plays, it scared me so fucking bad
Imagine this almost 20 years ago... It was (and still is) quite scary! Well, you could've played it back then already... Anyway, yeah I agree with you.
it's also cool that when you play the intro stage of prime 3, when dark samus appears, it start with this song, that chills me up the first time I saw that :D
@@ToyaKatsura Hope you are excited for Prime 4! The trailer at least looked like it truly honors the previous trilogy in feeling/atmosphere. I don't have high hopes for Prime 2 remastered, though...
@@kruvik Sure am; im playing the trilogy right now; im at the end of Prime 3; and Remaster of the other 2 games i doubt it at this point; probably ports with better controls
@@ToyaKatsura As long as they keep the GCN controls lol... But yeah, we will see I guess. I believe Prime 2 deserves a proper remaster as well. Haven't really played Prime 3 yet, unfortunately.
"In the depths of space, bounty hunter Samus Aran lands on Tallon IV, uncovering the ruins of the Chozo civilization and a planet corrupted by a highly dangerous substance called Phazon. Battling fierce creatures, Space Pirates and a Ridley hanging on by mechanical parts, she gathers new abilities, strengthening her iconic Power Suit. Her journey leads her to the heart of the Space Pirate experiments and Tallon IV in where the monstrous Metroid Prime resides. In a final, epic showdown, Samus confronts the Metroid Prime, defeating it and narrowly escaping the collapsing ruins. With Tallon IV freed from Phazon's blight, Samus takes off into space... however... Metroid Prime is far from finished..." *Cue to Metroid Prime 2 Menu Music*
