I still don't forgive Katherine for how she treated Elena. You'd think she'd sympathize with her considering she was also a human doppelganger meaning she risked the same fate, but instead she claimed that Elena stole her life. Like Elena is a completely different person in a different time period plus her life wasn't perfect. Her parents died.
Being Kathrine is not easy. She is a survivor. She is strong , beautiful and smart. She is amazing. In real life we are all survival. No father no mother no sibling no love no friends. It's very difficult to survive but she did.

I haven't watched TVD and I've always loved Katherine Pierce nonetheless knowing she was an antagonist. This just made me love her even more. Like Elena said: "You weren't born evil. Life made you that way." She survived 500 years on her own, lying and manipulating for her survival. Nobody can ever blame her for that. She always cared and she always loved. But she learnt the hard way that life will screw her over anyways.
