The bounty was about $600 in California in the late 1960s when it ended. *.. it took several years for the cougar population to recruit, and the new cougar population had little to fear so they are more bold now. *...Since the 1980s cougar attacks have been in the news in an ever increasing rate. Pets ,bicyclists, joggers and children are typically the target. *.. as a youngster back in the 1960s i spent a lot of time playing in the woodlands of the California foothills and remembered seeing cougar tracks on several occasions, no one gave it a care in the world, cougar attacks were a thing of the past. *.. Cougars kill deer by clamping onto the neck and holding on like a bulldog until the prey dies of suffocation. *.. they are unfamiliar with human anatomy, and sometimes clamp onto arms ,clothing or even backpacks. *..there are many cases of people surviving attacks by fighting back. Especially if their companions come to their aid. Firearms or even knives could be useful. Be safe out there. It’s the reason why in my early 20s, i stopped regularly meeting people, especially my long term friends from school. I can’t let anyone shape me in a way their mind sees me. If anyone sees you for something you are not or something you don’t like, stop talking to them or they will shape you to their will. The only people that are safe are the truly open minded one, the ones who understands that each person is different universe. I’m not letting weak or unmotivated people without goals to think about me like I’m one of them. Even parents do this. Whatever you want to become or whatever you want to achieve, never ever let anyone kill the spark in you.
