Wasted? It was literally their most prolific period. They made some of the greatest rock and roll music of all time during this era. They most certainly didnt waste their lives.
You're the only one that she has given a brief interview to and I JUST discovered it! She is absolutely the most awesome guitar player I've ever seen because of her wide diversity. It seems like she can emulate ALL of the greatest guitarists I mean WHAT does that tell you about Tina? Does she speak English? She is SO smart that I cannot imagine her not learning the language however she is obviously fiercely independent thus I'm only guessing here. Btw she does an awesome rendition of Gary's "The Loner" here as well what a tribute to him.
This is so freaking awesome. Love Jagger's and Richards' addition to Angie, but to hear Wyman, Watts, and especially Nicky Hopkins play this adds a whole new dimension to the song for me. Hopkins is probably my all-time favorite pianist.
I believe a few more song writing credits would have gone a long way towards keeping Taylor in the band, without much effect on Mick and Keith’s finances.
Those lead breaks Mick Taylor are throwing down are epic rock & roll! They were definitely smoking hot with Taylor in the fold. They never recaptured that same energy and magic after Taylor left.
Nicky F-ing Hopkins! They should have made him an official Stone. Way so many of RS albums and songs just superbly augmented by his virtuosity and fluidity. RIP Nicky.
Nick Hopkins suffered from severe Crohn's disease all his life and had multiple surgeries. His cause of death was from surgical complications. He could only do studio sessions because of health reasons, because touring was impossible for him. You can't be in a band without touring.
