Absolutely agree with you the crew are amazing. I am a diamond member and obviously, love Seabourn over the competition. My only negative is the nasty champagne they serve. I don’t drink cocktails or spirits, so always end up paying for the odd bottle.
Sorry guys but I find it hard to listen to you compare your suite on here with the ocean view stateroom on Oceania Sirena. Of course it’s much bigger. You’ve booked very different category staterooms. The size of your ocean view was on line when you booked it so you would have been fully aware of the square footage. It’s like me booking an Owners Suite and then saying it’s so much nicer than an inside cabin. If you are going to make comparisons they need to be of the same category.
@@leetony7468 it wasn’t a price comparison.. we said in the video we have just come off Oceania and had a small cabin and this time we booked a suite. We didn’t say ‘for the same money we got this suite’….
@@theposhtravelblog no I appreciate that, that’s my point. You said it was so much bigger and better than your previous cruise. Unless you make that clear, it sounds like you are comparing when really there is no comparison as you’ve upgraded by several suite categories. I’m not trying to cause an argument, we’ve always enjoyed watching your videos but I don’t think the comparison was fair.
@@leetony7468 Point taken! Will watch out for this next time. Think after coming off Oceania Sirena we were so disappointed that we were excited even though it was only a 4* ship! 😂
I always take the basic package as a perk then upgrade to the premium package. I like cocktails and Scotch so it more than pays off. Should also mention that Oceania allows you to bring your own liquor aboard.
MSC at Sentorini tour was take a bus all scared to death to the top. Took 4 places including the Ruins Museum and wine tasting, besides oia and Fia and Oia, too short but no suffering. Tour name : best of Santorini" 🎉
Our 3 kids were fortunate to holiday on Royal Caribbean ships - L - XL - XXL ships 🚢- my wife and I did our first cruise without them . We did a last minute booking on Holland America Volendam out of Vancouver to Alaska . Our cabin was on deck 3 . I lived on the deck 3 promenade deck and had my best Whale , Orca , Bear etc.. sightings on any of our past trips to Alaska. We both loved the size of ship . It’s the same class ship you were on .
I have watched many cruise RU-vidrs and you guys are by far the most thorough. I appreciate the valuable information that helps me make my vacation decisions.
@@barbaraweiss3119 Ex UK departures predominantly British passengers and British themes onboard. They do shorter cruises and also World cruises with sectors. Check out www.fredolsencruises.com/ 🤩
Thank you Stuart & Christina for another incredibly helpful video summarising your recent cruise on Bolette. Your delivery is so calm and professional- an absolute pleasure to watch.Thank you and please keep up the fantastic work . I really can’t wait to travel on Bolette next week! 😀 kind regards- Joy X
Hi yes we can book you on a cruise only basis and you will need to arrange your own flights. The prices will be in £. Let us know if you want us to check anything for you, our numbers are on www.aquamarinetravel.co.uk Have a look at their website for cruises.. www.fredolsencruises.com/ 💙
Oceiania should really say Best Value At Sea. Compare to 6 star. You can get a Big Suite for less per Day. Some of your comments are spot on. I don’t know why you don’t get a simply More package maybe it’s not offered coming from the Europe.
Hi, our price didn’t include simply more as we booked late. They do usually include it. We spoke to the food and beverage manager and the head chef and explained the shortcomings and they sent us a plate of chocolate strawberries.. My comparison with the 6* ships is because they advertised ‘the finest cuisine at sea’ which means they are up against the best. We’ve had loads of comments saying the other ships are great and we had a bad experience and we should try Vista! Vista it is, we are looking for a deal so we can do a video and at the record straight! 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
Firstly, thank you for your throughly entertaining and informative videos. We are going on our very first cruise through the Greek islands with seaborne (apparently 6*?) in your experience is seaborne as good as it sounds ! We are onboard Encore…
You’re welcome and thanks for watching! 💙 Greek Islands on Seabourn - amazing - one of our favourite cruise destinations in the World 🌍 and on Seabourn even better. Seabourn is wonderful..excellent food, fantastic events, the best service, super inclusions including top shelf drinks, spacious luxurious cabins.. the list goes on! You are certainly starting at the top if this is your first cruise 😂 Oh and yes we do think it’s worth it’s 6* rating, especially with all the unlimited caviar 🎉🥂 Have a great time! 🚢
Thank you so much for your lightning reply!! We now can’t wait to get on board!! My wife can’t wait to sample some of the moulton brown stuff!! I wonder if any might accidentally full into her suitcase 😂..
😂 I’m sure it won’t be the first time Molten Brown has been rustled, although they are now using large bottles and if you take them they add it to your bill!! 😳😂
Ahoy from Regent Mariner! Marla and I are midway through our 20 night Norwegian voyage and while your vlogs won’t play it seems we can write comments. We have been on Mariner before and can say Regent does not disappoint! The copious items on the menu to the included laundry service makes one to not want it to end. Weather beautiful, food a delight and with only 613 passengers on board never a crowded feeling. Just left Hammerfest after Honningsvag and the North Cape yesterday just wanted to ring in how much we enjoyed your Vlogs and enjoy you two. Best wishes!☘️
Hi both! You lucky pair on Regent, how fabulous! We absolutely loved our cruise with them. It was freezing and wet a couple of weeks ago in Norway so you are really lucky with the weather. Have an amazing cruise, enjoy every minute. Lovely to hear from you! Hope to see you again soon C&S xx
We followed a similar itinerary - Hong Kong to Tokyo + post stay in Tokyo: April/May 2023 - I hope you enjoyed Japan as much as I did = but with a different line #vikingcruises
My late parents used to stay every year at the Bon Sol - we joined them a few times - a really beautiful setting = thanks for reminding me of their happy weeks there ❤
I just subscribed to your channel. I really enjoyed the entire video. My husband and I love to go on cruises. I don't know if we will ever get to go on one like this one but one could dream. Everything you all shared with us was so incredible from the food to the excursions. Our next cruise is already booked to go on Norwegian cruise line on the Mediterranean. One day maybe we could do something like this trip thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this fantastic vlog! I’ve only just discovered your channel and was thrilled to see you travel on Bolette. I’m taking my mum on Bolette in 2 weeks , we’re going to the Norwegian fiords and we are even more excited now we have watched your vlog. So pleased you were delighted with Bolette, especially the food- it looks amazing. A huge thank you to you both! 😀 X
@@theposhtravelblog Thank you so much for your kind reply. I forgot to ask - Could you explain what happens for the muster drill on embarkation day please? Thank you! 😀
Yes of course, you literally watch the video on the tv in your suite then go in your own time (before the ship sails) to your lifeboat station and have your card swiped. Easy peasy 🎉
@@Ivehadenuff quite a few ladies wore cocktail dresses, but a lot just wore smart trousers and tops etc, it’s pretty relaxed but smart. Have a great cruise 🥂🚢🎉
Awesome vlog, thanks for chatting with me, I really loved having you guys onboard and kayaking with you two was great fun! Hopefully see you on another cruise sometime!
Your work is Improving with each trip. However, in the interest of transparency, was this, or any other cruise comped by the cruise line? There was nary a critical word said about this Olsen cruise. By saying this was a 5 star cruise, you put Fred Olsen cruises on par with Regent. That’s a bit difficult to digest. And I do not recall your calling out your travel agency role before. Did that play a role in booking this cruise. Please don’t be offended, just looking for the back story. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the comments! No it wasn’t comped we paid for it as we had Christina’s dad with us and his partner and it suited them. It is a 4* ship but some of the dishes were equivalent to some of the 5* ships eg Celebrity and the service definitely was, Regent and Seabourn pitch themselves as 6* ultra luxury which this obviously isn’t in their league. If we are ever comped in the future we of course will mention it (still waiting for that miracle to occur) 😂To be honest we really didn’t have anything to complain about on the Fred cruise and really enjoyed it. I think we went with low expectations due to its 4* standard and were so pleasantly surprised. The cruise before was on Oceania and was touted as finest cuisine at sea with all the fanfare and it wasn’t so it was disappointing. We just feedback as we find. We have mentioned the travel agency before in some of our videos, thought we would on this one as it primarily attracts the UK market and we are UK based. We sometimes get discounted rates to travel, and are always looking for a late deal as we are very flexible, but always pay for our trips unless Christina’s father decides to splash out, which he did on this one!!! 🎉😂
And thank you for the prompt answer. I must say that while I was surprised at the success you had on the cruise, I did go to Cruise Critic to read FO reviews. They were pretty highly thought of there as well. I am a Yank, so I suppose we hear much less about FO here. Your 5* rating makes sense on a 6* scale as well. We are headed to Tokyo in March for 14 days on RSS’s Explorer, so I was chuffed to hear about your Regent Cruise. Cheers, Tim🎉
On my one HAL cruise I took the HIA as well as Club Orange. Well worth it! We are usually on Viking or Oceania so it seemed a bit more premium on HAL that way. We went on the NS as well and really enjoyed it but I wouldn’t want to go on any larger ship. Also went in Oct. so minimal children.
Oh no! I was planning on booking our first Oceania cruise but now I will definitely stay away. I’m the vacation planner for our family and my husband is my picky eater so I will stay away from a cruise line that he will be be disappointed in. Thanks for sharing!
@@paulettenguyen971 we are thinking of trying one of their newer ships as we’ve had so many comments saying we’ve had a bad experience and it’s not usually like that! Vista keeps coming up as a good option. Will post more videos if we decide to go again, but think we had an unusually bad experience on Sirena 👍🏼
Seabourn is my favorite, too. The Restaurant gets my # 1. View from Sojourn's Deck 10 forward is a close second. View from Deck 11 forward is a close third. Can't wait for our next Seabourn cruise.
Enjoyed your travel blog, just one question I thought I saw on instagram that you left the ship early and flew home due to a bad storm sailing to Liverpool- is that right. Also what made you decide to go on Fred Olson?
@@user-um3cx5wi3i Yes we disembarked our second cruise in Norway as we had elderly parents with us who didn’t like the rough crossing and wanted to get off before the return journey! Joan is 91 and was having trouble standing in a force 7/8. We’ve been Fred Olsen before and we enjoyed it, and especially the parents, as it does attract an elderly age range.
Thanks for clarifying this so I presume you did a back to back cruise with Fred Olsen and the 2nd one was to Norway? Where is your next cruise going to be and which cruise company are you going on? Liz
As I mentioned some time ago and stated the Fred Olsen cruise we did on Borealis from Liverpool to Norway was the best cruise we have ever had. Superb. One thing this ship and Borealis are old ships but in far far better condition than many new ships. Enjoyed your video very much thank you both. We are both from Liverpool UK but have lived in Sydney for many years and marvellous to see the Pier Head once again.
Yes, they are fabulous, much older ships than usual and of course, many who blog here simply dismiss an older ship no matter that it may be in excellent condition. For me the best value ship (ships) by far, better value than Seven Seas, Silverseas, and the rest of the so-called luxury or ultra-luxury ships.
Really enjoyed the vlog and Iceland looks amazing. Your vlogs are always interesting and informative - looking forward to seeing your next adventure! x
We are considering booking the MO in the coming weeks but there is something concerning us. The room plan and your video appears to show the toilet completely open to the rest of the room, without a door. Surely not ? Can you clarify please.
I have been there three times and my favorite trip was the time we stayed in Imerovigli for a few nights. No cruise tourists, beautiful sunsets. We walked to Fira and Oia early in the morning. Best trip ever.
We are in Imerovigli and we love it. So beautiful and quiet. When we went to Fira today their wasn’t any queues at all. The taxi driver said it was so quiet in Fira today so it went smoothly.
@@leetony7468 It’s only a 4* ship! You must have some luxury pubs where you live!😂. We’d say the food is much better than ‘pub grub’ as we said it’s a 4* ship not a 6* luxury line..
Another great video - as all of yours are!!! And Christina, you are simply stunning as always! We are awaiting our Oct 1, 2024 sailing on the new Silversea “Silver Ray” - Athens and Turkey for 11 nights. Can’t wait!
We were on the same cruise and have got to give feedback every thing you have said about the cruise and ship is 100% true and accurate. It was truly an amazing to have the experience of a such a beautiful ship and Iceland a magical country. Can’t thank you enough keep them coming x
