I've been prepping for over a decade. People have mocked us and made fun of us for doing so. Not like dooms day prepping, but emergency situations. These situations is where we shine and I've helped my neighborhood out when Things like this have happen. I'll pray for NC , FL and everyone affected by this hurricane.
Funny how all the Republican strongholds (besides Asheville) are being hit by multiple hurricanes a month before elections, but I guess that's just a coincidence. Florida next...

Like many others in the region, we were fortunate to have neighbors pulling together (Jan and I live in the Shiloh neighborhood) Just one thing - FEMA is here, the government response has to been excellent in the face of extraordinary challenges - please everybody, this business about not having money due to giving it to “illegals’ is not just a lie but a deliberate lie - DISinformation. Every 20 minutes or so during the day we see the cargo helicopters bringing supplies, sent by the government, the same government that ALL the governors in the region are praising. Let’s not turn this into one more thing to tear us apart. Let’s learn from this the one thing needful - for all of us to work together to bring forward a beautiful world that works for everyone.
We got hit hard too here in upstate South Carolina. Just got our power back last night (Sunday). Huge trees uprooted everywhere. Makes an old grown man want to cry. I'm 63 yrs old and have never seen this before. We thought we were safe this far from the coast and that's what makes this so hard to fathom. As of today the death toll is well over 200 people.

I think you guys mentioned a wedding, I just learned from one of my womens groups online that a women in Ashville lost 11 of 13 family members who were attending a wedding there 😭😭😰 My heart just broke reading it. she also shared a church to donate to that is one of the largest releif hubs taking action all donatins are going to the victims and they are also ministering to people, praying and personally supporting them. We have to humble ourselves and pray as a Nation, the reasons this has happended goes far beyound natural disaster and is sick. Father please forgive our nation, turn our hearts back to you in full surrender as Lord of our lives !!!!

Why is it that US taxpayers fund the massive military budget, and they can pull out all the stops when it's time for war or covert missions, but in a natural disaster people are left like this. It's absolutely abhorrent! People should demand adequate response from the government, and more protection / rescue for the 25% tax out of every paycheck. SMH. Our tax money simply protects the interest of the government, and does nothing to protect us when we need it most! Maybe next time we have a hurricane, we should call Netanyahu or Zelensky since they have a better line to our own government resources than we do! Do you know what the US budget is for space weapons? But they hem and haw around, and say, oh how terrible of a situation, this natural disaster! BS! Why you didn't stay put in Asheville and attempted to drive to Charlotte (first attempt)?I think I missed something !! Excellent documentary, well done on sharing this.
I'm wondering why didn't go straight to Charlotte prior to the storm. With all the flooding in Western NC BEFORE Helene got there, meteorologist Brad Panovich was talking about biblical flooding in Asheville and the mountain area by the time the storm got there. I would have driven the extra 2 hours to be safe.
As those Trump Hating Voters watch their homes, businesses, and livelihoods being washed away by the hurricane flood waters...as they wait in line for hours for food,gas, and shelter... While the Biden/Harris Administration continues to show little interaction or support for these people…..... I hope those poor SOBs can find comfort in knowing all that FEMA money that could be helping them right now is being used to house thousands of illegal immigrants living in nice comfortable hotels with plenty of room service!!
It’s crazy cause I feel like y’all are using our Town to get likes and comments and shares and views when our town isn’t a charity case and a way for you to boost your platform. I find this highly disrespectful when I am a resident of Asheville Hendersonville area have been my whole life and I see people that just just so happen to come in the night of the hurricane when everybody was told to not be on the roads and do not come to Asheville but you did anyways this was just a gimmick to boost your platform or whatever You have no idea what it was like to lose chimney rock when you’ve been going there for 35 years every year, you don’t know what it’s like to see your city go underwater like Biltmore swann Fletcher Skyland the other areas around there I just cannot believe that people are just constantly trying to up their platform and try toget likes and views when this is not a time or place you should do that
I agree with you. Western North Carolina was already dealing with excessive rainfall, and they still decided to go to Asheville when they were supposed to be in Charlotte (where the flooding wasn't supposed to be NEARLY as bad).
I used to live just up the road from that shell station. So sad to see what's happened to Asheville. I was there when hurricane Opal hit years ago and it was nothing compared to this. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this.
Yes I live here and this is such a sad time in all our lives right now...Been without water since the 26th. So thankful for all the volunteers and donations. I work in nursing at Mission and they have help out tremendously with food and making sure we have gas in our vehicles. God bless everyone ❤
