I'm currently doing the same thing...taking everything apart on mine. If you have any tips on disassembling the carriage arm (completely not just removing from the carriage) I'd love to know what you did. I have found no tips online.
@@djnuva I presume you remove the set screw at the blade end of the…. Meat slider thing then tap it through. Then there is a flathead bolt through the handle. I didn’t disassemble that far as it cleaned fine once I got it removed from the body of the slicer.
Hi Ed Baud: I have watched your videos which was really great. I have a Berkel 808 meat slicer and can't get the blade off . The hex bolt won't budge. The belt broke, so I am trying to replace it. Any chance you or your son made a trouble shooting video on this or can you give me any advise on how to first remove the hex bold out of the centre of the 808 blade on my meat slicer? I would appreciate it very much-
I just picked up a 410. It did come with the sharpener but it is broken from overtightening over the years. I know this is the million dollar question but do you have access to a sharpener?
Yes you need to remove the screw cover (which was super hard on mine as it was dirty) then the 3 screws. Then wear safety gloves and it sorta wiggles off. I tapped mine from behind gently with a wooden mallet. It’s a very thick sturdy blade.
Any chance of getting a video on servicing the gearbox/grease/bearings/ and maybe motor on a hobart 210? I have no idea how to get the blade shaft out to clean everything up and see if i need new bearings. I did get the little cover off on other end and took off the one screw but cant figure out the rest. Not sure the proper way of packing it with grease either. Seen a website selling a grease gun tube of super lube but theres no grease nipple anywhere so at this point my only idea is to just shoot it into the back side till shes full. I took the tiny motor shaft plate off and the screw under it and found that bearing but cant grab it to pull it out. Need help asap

Hi Ed, you mention that the sharpening / grinding stones are on backwards. Would you please show the correct positioning of the grinding stones and proper procedure for both sharpening and trueing. I just bought a 410, so any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
I just picked up a U.S. Slicing Machine, INC. Model 805. Where can I buy sharpening stones for it? The top stone is gone but the bottom is intact, a Simmonds I recall. The top handle is miss too & I'd like to replace it also.
I just got an old vintage berkel slicer that I'm restoring. The plungers/pistons need cleaned and regreased on the sharpning unit. Any tips on how to do so to get my sharpening unit back in order?
Thank you for your video - my dad and I have just gone in together on a 909 and the bevel on the one stone had us confused as the blade has a bevel on it as well but is opposite of the blade bevel - now that I see this I know we were on the right path. We will have a razor on that slicer this evening :-)
I've got an old 1612 that has not been cleaned in over 25 years and am taking my time cleaning each and every part. Now that i have seen your vids I get a better idea what to do and how to properly do everything. Thank you sir for giving your time and expertise in showing us how it is done.
