Just a guy who loves the kart-racing and role-playing genres of video games, but primarily into the likes of many mainstream franchises with some niches in between.
...Oh, and I guess I'm a big fan of Raspberyl from Disgaea according to some of my friends. (Little do they know of my obsessions with Allister from Pokemon and Fecto Elfilis before then.)
The song choice was actually a bit of a homage to Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, where it used the same song for the 2P Versus mode! Older versions of the track used various remixes of it until I found the version currently used in the stage that seemed to fit the 'Frantic race through a factory that is Literally A Death Trap'. .... And the fact the Puyo Puyo name of the track is 'Satan's Theme' seems ironically fitting simply due to the fact I set out to make the level a brutally hard one given I had been told in the past I made things too easy in other tracks. But! That is just my two cents as the designer of the level and the one who hunted down the song to use in it. A frantic song for a track that is frantic and fast paced.
Oh yeah, I had completely forgotten about it being in Mean Bean Machine. Guess that’s one that slipped my mind at the time, especially considering how V1 used the GaMetal remix Jonny Atma did some years ago that had it explicitly titled as the two-player theme. A reminder that I should familiarize myself with every source from now on.
I'm noticing that you mostly lightly feather your rings, even when moving through a thick clump of them on the track. Wouldn't it be better to spend more to deny racers behind you the resource, or is this just speed control?
Fundamentally, my usage of rings tends to lean more towards maintaining my speed throughout the race (especially in cases where I will have to spend some when climbing up slopes and if I find myself off-road), but I generally blame myself for having a trigger finger that contributes to my reckless spending. Won’t lie when I say it would be better to deny others from them, especially considering there are other ways to catch up should I find myself falling behind.
It’s a fan game called Dr. Robotnik’s Ring Racers, and it pretty much embodies what made kart racers so popular back within the 90s whilst including its own set of mechanics that make it stand out more compared to the others you’d find out there.
Maybe, but at least according to some research regarding the etymology surrounding it, Carbuncle originates from the Vulgate's Latin translation of the Septuagint's Greek term Anthrax, which is in reference to the color of burning coal. In other words, it's usually taken to mean a gem of a deep-red garnet color, hence why most Carbuncle iterations across the franchise tend to be decorated with red gems on their heads, with this game and Final Fantasy XV being the most notable among them. Yeah, it's one hell of a history lesson, but it's an interest of mine learning about some of these names.
Sadly, it's something that isn't really achieved through an addon (least as far as I know), so the only way you're going to see it in use if you were to play on the server where it comes from, The Stardust Zone. Should also mention I didn't make it since I lack talent in graphic design.
I'm not sure how often people read the video descriptions, but every reason as to why this video isn't as good as some others I've put out is listed there. I know, I'm to blame for having to run on things I'm able to easily afford for the low price of absolute zero.
@@gustavochavarria8161 That's what I've been told. Apparently now people are able to host servers through holepunching, so there's no need to go through some tedious process of trying to establish a port of some kind.
I know that there's a lot of stuff I missed out on detailing in the description, so if anyone has questions about the mods that CGB uses, feel free to leave any questions in the comments, whether or not you want to reply to this one.
