the part i love the most about this is that the conclusion could be that the end to the cycle is just staying away from dema, you cant destroy it but you can stay away from it. fighting depression is choosing to stay away from those thoughts and insecurities every single day. you don't get a way out, you have to fight yourself to stay away from it.
I always thought that Tyler didn’t want money or fame. Just wanted his story and his music to be heard. This is evident in Backslide when Tyler is throwing the burger buns to the ground. Then proceeds to use a bun as money for lemonade. Which would make the buns, money.
This theory is also hidden in overcompensate music video, where Clancy is dancing in the background while Josh is playing drums. The lights above Clancy are red while the others are white. Then, when Clancy performs in front of those audiences, we can see there are nine red lights obviously representing the bishops. So Clancy is definitely a bishop.
I loved this non Clickies rankings. Such a good premise. Please have him do this for other TOP albums! We need Vessel Trench and Blurryface. I disagree with just about every single one of his rankings but I loved it still. Also, perhaps his ranking for AWAP would improve if he saw the U.G. Studios one, it had Josh, and it didn’t have the weird production sounds. ✌🏻
I wanted to mention something a while back that always confused me until we learned that The Torchbearer (Josh) has the power to guide and hasn't been with Clancy throughout the Scaled and Icy Era. During the Livestream Experience, Sally Scarver asks Tyler where Josh is at. We can obviously see Josh there with Tyler throughout the Livestream Experience, but both Lisden and Scarver have no idea where Josh is. I could never figure out what that meant until Navigating. The Torchbearer has been guiding Clancy this entire time and its one of the reasons the letters never allude to the Torchbearer being with Clancy when we see them together in the music videos. Just thought I would mentioned since it's been on my mind.
I actually agree with a lot of his takes, and I like that he appreciates The Craving because I think a lot of people sleep on that one. BUT the one thing I strongly disagree with him on was putting Next Semester in F, that one's a banger! Also, has he listened to Scaled and Icy? I think he would probably really like that album.
i know im late but also i wanted to add, we never ever actually see all 9 bishops together, in ANY music video. And in one clancy letter from the SAI era, tyler/clancy writes about the process of writing scaled and icy under the watch of the Bishops, and he explains how they sometimes come check on him as he is writing, sometimes just one bishop, sometimes more, but never all 9 of them at once.
This is just such a good example of how different tastes can be, and it reminds me how important it is to remember that everyone's gonna experience things differently. To me, The Craving is quite probably one of the most unlistenable songs twenty one pilots has ever made, while Oldies Station is up there among one of my all time favorites!
I think listening to something more than just the first impression will likely make you understand it more and you can find things you like about it. Oldies Station was first not so much in my head first impression. Listening to it more and more, I get so emotional. I can now say it's my secret favourite of Clancy.
i'm so happy you posted this, i've always had this theory, though not as constructed as your video, it was always just an idea of a theory that i couldn't bring myself to reaaaally heavily analyze, but thought about it countless times; some lyrics in blurryface just outright says and gives the idea of clancy and nico being the same person, and even if some stuff shouldn't be taken at face value, sometimes that's the intent and i always thought about it. reading other people's comments on this videos with lyrics just reinterates these ideias, calling out Polarize, The Judge, i'd like to add We Don't Believe What's On TV with the lyrics "we don't believe what's on tv, because it's what we want to see and what we want we know we can't believe" for me it brings it all together, with the addition of lines of "deny, deny, denial" in polarize and "no, not me, it's for a friend, denial" in vignette. i would also like to point out how i think it's weird vignette isn't a MV lore related (yes, i know tyler said he only kept it because josh liked it and the whole "it's for a friend" line is because of tyler) BUT LIKE... i think vignette is SUCH a lore heavy song, with lines like "it's a tribute to zombies of which i've become" is that not what the bishops did in the paladin strait mv??? isn't that the whole point of vialism afterall???? clancy is trying to fight off this vignette that is his side, nico. great video, great theory, i'm so happy this is being brought up
For some reason I feel they won't end with trees this time around they'll end with paladin strait and for the tour after the next actual final album/EP they'll end with trees and it'll all make sense
Just so random predictions I Wana add as I'm watching the video The cover song defo gonna be blitzkrieg bop going into next semester .trust those two sound so similar back to back . On a similar note Midwest indigo and shy away sound so similar CALLING IT there gonna have over ompensate into something like a pet cheetah (fingers crossed pet cheetah) and then go into vignette in WWWHERE during the drum beats Tyler goes WELCOME TO THE TWENTY ONE PILOTS WORLD TOUR WITH JOSH ON THE DRUMS ARE YOU READY FOR MORE (not on the beats) I could see the gate keeping lavish live by playing the opening but not actually start singing to troll us (Hot take) Routines are overrated .I reckon they will be a b stage and they will play it there Potentially I could see them dropping either stressed out, heathens (I this one is most likely) or ride. Could be completely wrong here I feel like after car radio at the top of the tower like how the red beanie was dropped from the ceiling to perform stressed out (I might be making this up I can't remember)a uke will fall and as Tyler walks to the main stage he sings palidin strait with a mike attached to the uke Finally watch b stage be in the shape of the towers of dema that move up and down Sorry Ik this is a massive comment I'm just a top nerd who is so excited to see them . Amazing video btw and a great idea.
