Because they're made softer and more nourishing than commercial made soaps
@Human-lg8hb
@Human-lg8hb 10 месяцев назад
Commercial made soaps usually extract the glycerine from the solid soaps, creating two different products: hard soap and glycerine. Though this is a financially profitable decision it makes the soap less nourishing and harder. Glycerine attracts moisture, and when it’s on your hands it does the same. That is also a reason why store bought soap can be drying more than moisturising. Glycerine is the thing that makes soaps softer. Hope this helps! 😁

I make handmade soaps. My experience is the soaper doesn't allow a full cure time. 4-6 weeks isn't enough to cure to the center. I let mine cure for 10 weeks and never ever had any complaints. My bars stay hard all the way to the end. I also use sodium hydroxide to help the bar stay hard. This gives you a long lasting handmade bar of soap.

@@NancylynnMaineMadesoaps Hi Nancy , where do I find this sodium hydroxide???? And also what’s the fastest way to completely dry out a bar of soap ??? (Commercial soap)? Thank you for response …. 9-26-23

I started using M&P and my 4 ounce bar only lasts for about 5-7 washes? What can I do to make it last longer? I am not ready for CP yet 😫

It depends on your size. I have small shampoo bars that lasts for 4 washes.
