Good tutorial, but far too complicated and time-consuming. It may be OK for individual PS1 games, but if you have to convert hundreds of PS1 games in such a laborious way, you'll quickly lose interest again. I still wonder why the relatively simple POPS variant has been removed since OPL 1.1.0? Since I now use an MX4SIO micro sd adapter (PS2 slim), I can no longer use the older 10 Anniversary OPL version (which does not support the MX4SIO) and am forced to use OPL 1.1.0 or higher. The only alternative is to switch back to the SMB share via Ethernet. But this is also stupid, because an Ethernet cable connection between my WLAN router and PS2 cannot be solved cleverly (they are in different rooms), or looks very unattractive. The simplest thing would be to bring the POPS function back to OPL.
Hi, @1980mrash, There's a tool available on "PSX-Place" called "POPS VCD Manager" that uses a GUI (Graphical User Interface) to convert multiple PS1 games from the "BIN/CUE" file structure to the VCD and ELF one. I highly recommend giving it a try to automate this process. If I’m not mistaken, only the Non-Official OPL releases (also known as: OPL Daily Builds “BD”) include the "PS1 Games display mode” option that allows you to play PS1 games using POPS. I'm not quite sure if this menu or a similar one was ever implemented on an Official OPL release. I think the only way for users to play PS1 games is by using the "APPS" section or similar, and by using POPStarter as well. Even though your WLAN router and your PS2 are located in different rooms, you can still use two Powerline Ethernet Networking Adapters to transmit network packets through your home's electrical wiring installation. You will have to connect one adapter to your WLAN router, and another one to the same room where your PS2 is. The use of these devices is not the top-tier solution, but it can get you out of a tight spot. If you want to learn more about this specific device, I highly recommend watching the dedicated video from 'PowerCert Animated Videos'. Keep in mind that OPL is Open-Source, so people can give feedback to the corresponding developers on GitHub's public repository or any other forums to encourage them to modify the final product's behavior. Hi, @acpinkie2858, You're right! I tested PS1 games with OPL 1.2.0 via USB, HDD and SMB. The USB was the only storage device I could not run PS1 games on it. The reason is what you said, it gets stuck on the "Loading Config..." screen. I've done some research on the Internet, and I didn't find this issue reported on PSX-Place, PS2-home or the official Github Repository . Feel free to report it if you wish. A way to make your PS1 games boot from a USB Flash Drive is to use a previous OPL version, like OPL 1.1.0 (recommended) or a non-official OPL version like the Daily Build (DB) ones. Another way to execute PS1 games via a USB Flash Drive is using POPStarter Launcher (POPSLoader). I tested this workaround myself, and it works. 1. Download POPStarter Loader (POPSLoader) from PSX-Place. 2. Unzipp the ".7z" file with 7-Zip or any other software file uncompresser you like. 3. Create a folder on your root of your USB Flash Drive called "POPSLOADER" or the name you desire. 3. From that uncomporessed package, go to "bin", and place the "POPSLDR" folder and the "POPSLOADER.ELF" on "POPSLOADER". 4. Connect your USB Flash Drive to your PS2, and execute UlaunchELF. Then, boot "POPSLOADER.ELF". 5. Next, select your Storage Device, in this case "USB Flash Drive". Finally, select your PS1 game. REMEMBER! POPSLOADER only displays games using the OLD VCD syntax method. OLD Syntax -> gametitle=mass:/POPS/XX.VCD's ID.gametitle.ELF I hope my assistance has been helpful. I did everything in the video except paste the conf_apps.cfg. I just can't get it to work. Running the renamed ELF files directly just results in the PS1 logo before going dark, for 2 out of the 3 games I've tested, the video intro of one game plays, but the screen goes black after it. I don't really care about the games being visible within OPL at this point I just want to be able to run them. Maybe it's to do with me running FHDB and not FMCB.
Hi, @ICEknightnine. Can you boot your PS1 games without the “conf_apps.cfg” file? If I’m not mistaken, only the Non-Official OPL releases (also known as: OPL Daily Builds “BD”) are able to boot PS1 games without the “conf_apps.cfg” file. This is thanks to the “PS1 Games display mode” option that is not included in the Official OPL releases. I highly recommend checking the ' __PSX-place.com - HDD, USB & SMB - POPStarter 13 Compatibility List ' before testing games with POPStarter. The link is available in the description of this video. If your game is not compatible, try to use DKWDRV, as long as it is also compatible. If your games are listed as compatible in the POPStater list, I recommend following the steps mentioned in my video, and test if your PS1 games on FHDB are bootable with OPL 1.1.0 Stable version. As expected, place the “conf_apps.cfg” as well. If it works, I will use that OPL version as the default one when running PS1 games. If OPL gives you problems too, try to execute the “.ELF” file of each PS1 game from your uLaunchELF. If my troubleshooting tips don’t work, install the latest FMCB image version (v1.966) on a PS2 Memory Card, and follow the steps in my video to test if PS1 games are bootable. "$HDTVFIX" (recommended, due to broader compatibility) -> This cheat increases your PS1 game resolution to 480i 60Hz on NTSC games (USA), or 576i 50Hz on PAL games (Europe). This cheat makes the Component Cables and HDMI adapter resolution compatible with POPStarter. Otherwise, your PS1 game will work, but it won't show you any image. "$480p" -> Forces your PS1 game resolution to 480p 60Hz. This cheat is compatible with PAL and NTSC PS1 games. However, tends to have broader compatibility with NTSC games rather than PAL games. Hi, @Superhanz3795. POPStarter Beta 06 is not compatible with Physical PS1 Memory Cards, including your Mem card Pro 2. By default, when a PS1 game boots correctly for the first time, POPStarter creates a new folder in "POPS", assigning the currently running PS1 GameTitle as its name. Within that folder, it creates two Virtual Memory Cards: SLOT0.VMC (Memory Card on the 1st slot) and SLOT1.VMC (Memory Card on the 2nd slot). Typically, PS1 games save your game progress by default on the 1st Memory Card detected. However, some games allow you to choose between the 1st and the 2nd Memory Card. If you want to save your PS1 Game Files on a Physical PS1 Memory Card, use DKWDRV (PS1DRV) instead of POPStarter, as this PS1 optical drive emulator its compatible with this type of physical storage device. Please note that POPStarter is an emulator, which means your PS1 games do not run natively. Therefore, Physical PS1 Memory Cards, are compatible only if the POPStarter source code has been developed to support this type of storage device. Unfortunately, this code has not been written yet. However, keep in mind that you will need to manually create the Main OPL Directory Structure, and rename too your VCD files to have the correct syntax. Last but not least, don't forget to create an ".ELF" file for each ".VCD" file, and the "conf_apps.cfg" file to reference the ".ELF" files associated with your PS1 games. Connect your USB Flash Drive to your PC. 2. Check if the “conf_apps.cfg” file is on the root of your USB Flash Drive. 3. En el caso de Call of Duty Black Ops 1, he visto en foros que solo la versión de España permite jugar a este juego en castellano e incluso en otros idiomas. Dicha versión, permite cambiar el idioma del juego acorde al que tenga instalado en la consola. Es decir, si tu Playstation o XBOX está en Español/España: el juego arranca en castellano. Sin embargo, tengo entendido que la versión de este juego en Latinoamérica solo está disponible en inglés, independientemente de la región e idioma que tenga tu consola. Una solución sería adquirir el juego en formato digital (recomendado) o comprar una copia física de primera o segunda mano en España. Moving on, here is an explanation on how to resolve your issue. ////// WARNING!! The following steps are explained assuming that you have already boot Tekken 3 on POPStarter, even if it's not running correctly. ////// 1. Search on Google for the thread published by "Hugopocked" on psx-place.com called "hugopocked Fixes for Popstarter". Once you find it, click on it. 2. Next, click on the URL for "Tekken 3 improved fix 31/01/2024". The URL should be located below this title. 3. Download the compressed file. 4. With "7-ZIP" or any other file archiver you have installed on your PC, unzip it by selecting that file > Right Click with your mouse > 7-zip > "Extract Files..." > select extraction's path > OK. 5. Once the extraction is done, enter on the "Tekken 3_(ALL VER)" folder and change the ".txt" cheat file name from "USA Ver CHEATS.TXT" to "CHEATS.TXT". 6. Hola, @alejandroflores6284. Si has seguido meticulosamente las instrucciones del vídeo y aún así el audio persiste en italiano, existen 2 posibles explicaciones: 1. Es posible que el juego no se haya desinstalado por completo antes de modificar la ubicación y el idioma de tu consola. ¿Podrías confirmar si, tras la desinstalación, el icono del juego ha desaparecido completamente de tu consola? 2. Aunque hayas desinstalado el juego y ajustado correctamente el idioma y la ubicación de la consola, puede que hayas descargado el juego desde la tienda virtual de XBOX o PlayStation en Italia. Desde mi perspectiva, es inusual que, tras seguir todas las instrucciones del vídeo y reiniciar la consola, el juego continúe en italiano. El reinicio de la consola no debería afectar al idioma del juego una vez que este se ha instalado correctamente. Para poder ayudarte de manera más efectiva, ¿podrías describirme detalladamente el proceso que has seguido? Saludos.

@@CannonBoost son digitales en cuando a la configuración que me dices de todo en España ese era el problema antes así le hacía pero con este juego así como con el de Moder warfare y el advanced warfare no sirven ya que solo se escucha en castellano mientras la configuración está en España pero cuando vuelvo a español México se cambia el idioma

No estoy seguro, pero CREO que puede ser debido a una política dirigida por Activision que se encargue de alterar el idioma del juego si la ubicación de la consola ha sido modificada. Este tipo de cambios de idioma también puede ocurrir en formato físico. Bajo mi punto de vista, realizaría estos ajustes en tu consola si quieres el juego en alguno de estos idiomas: ** Español Latino: ** - Idioma: español. - Región del idioma: España. - Ubicación: México. Si en este país no sale en Español Latino, prueba otro país de Latinoamérica hasta que de resultado. (Ej. Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, etc). ** Español / España: ** - Idioma: español. - Región del idioma: España. - Ubicación: España Te ofrezco mi opinión al respecto. Si puedes jugar en Español/España en México, ya es más que suficiente. En tu caso, solo cambiaría la ubicación de la consola de España a México cuando tengas que comprar algo de la PlayStation Store o XBOX Store. Espero haberte sido útil. THANK YOU SO MUCH, this video was the ONLY video that accurately described how to make this setup work nowadays. I finally got it to work on my HDD and it works great (to the extent that POPstarter can go of course) P.S: If you're like me and did all the steps right but it still had you go back to uLaunchElf after trying to boot the PS1 game, make SURE that you're starting OPL from the boot folder in your memory card and not from another location (for example, I was starting it from the apps folder instead). This is what did the trick for me :)

Hi, @paulskyekahawaty6133, As I mentioned at 0:36, FreeMCBoot is compatible on all PS2 fat models and the PS2 SCPH-7000 slim model. If your PS2 model is SCPH-9000, you must use FunTuna, a FreeMCBoot alternative. However, please note that PS2 slim models are not capable of running internal HDDs. Hola, @user-hc5rc6cu6x. Cuando mencionas 'clave', ¿te refieres a la contraseña del usuario? En Windows 98, existe una opción para iniciar sesión sin necesidad de una contraseña. Simplemente debes pulsar el botón ‘Cancelar’ cuando se te soliciten las credenciales. Una vez iniciada la sesión, sigue estos pasos: 1- Busca el icono de "My Computer" (Mi PC) en el escritorio de Windows y haz clic en él. 2 - En "My Computer" : entra en la unidad de disco duro ' (C:) '. 3 - Navega hasta la carpeta "WINDOWS" y pulsa en "Show Files" ('Mostrar archivos', texto ubicado en la columna de la izquierda). 4 - Busca un archivo con la extensión ".pwl". Cuando lo encuentres, haz clic derecho sobre él y selecciona “Delete” (Eliminar). Finalmente, confirma la eliminación pulsando en "Yes". 5 - Asegúrate de guardar todos los cambios que hayas realizado (por ejemplo, en documentos de Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) y cierra todas las ventanas abiertas. 6- Ve a "Start" (Inicio) , selecciona "Log Off" (Cerrar Sesión) y acepta el cerrado de sesión pulsando en 'Yes'. 7- Una vez cerrada la sesión correctamente: añade en "User name" tu nombre de usuario y en "Password" una nueva contraseña. 8- Pulsa en "OK" para dar vida a ese usuario nuevo. ¿Han resuelto estos pasos tu problema? The reason for this, is that "VCD" files cannot be shown on OPL 1.1.0, so they need executable files like "ELF" to invoke that PS1 game in digital format to make the game playable. In other words: VCD file = PS1 game in digital format using a POPStarter compatible format. ELF File = Main responsable to be shown on OPL to invoke the "VCD" file to make the game playable. Hi, @icet111 If you take a look at the POPStarter 13 Compatibility List, both PAL and NTSC versions of Rayman are fully compatible via USB or HDD. However, Rayman's PAL version, might be necessary to introduce "COMPATIBILITY_0x07" in "CHEATS.TXT" to fix some texture issues, as shown in the "Comments" column. To run Rayman, I simply followed the steps shown in the video (Time Stamps: 12:43 - 22:10), which covers the entire process of how to play PS1 games via HDD. What exactly do you mean when you say Rayman does not work on your PS2? Does it display an error on screen upon booting, or does it load the game with some type of errors that make it unplayable? The cheats I have chosen, as it is shown on 15:16, are for terminating POPS by pressing 'Select + Start'. This cheat does not alter game performance, neither visual nor audio effects. For games that do not play music or contain sound glitchces, you could try to fill in "CHEATS.TXT" with the following Special Codes: "COMPATIBILITY_0x01" (helps to restore music and voices in some games) , "COMPATIBILITY_0x04" (Fixes slowdowns, flickering, and other glitches), I highly recommend giving 'Ridge Racer Serue' a try with this Special Code. "COMPATIBILITY_0x03" (only if "COMPATIBILITY_0x01" does not solve your issue). If your game is in NTSC, I highly recommend to activate $NOPAL to disable POPStarter's PAL patch. @@CannonBoost thank you i will give a try. Unfortunately there are a bunch of games which aren't really working good. I can start Rayman but after the language menu nothing happened any more the game are freezing and the window is black. Similar Problem in T ai Fu. And there are games which are working but without music... tekken 1 works but with strange sounds... and no music-. Tekken 3 not starting... FF 7 works but with graphical bugif you are fighting and i can'Ät play this game with this glitch... FF8 sats normaly the first scene works but if you have to run to the gate of the balamb garden the game freezes... Ridge Race1, rage racer and Ridge Racer Type 4 this games have the same issues its texture glithces you can't really drive because they are missing textures and glitches... similar but not that wars are in Tony Hawks Skateboarding and Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 and 2.
I have found out the blame that a couple of games doesn't work was the region! Rayman NTSC works ok but PAL Version doesn't... the same in Tai FU where the NTSC is working finde! Hurassic Park Lost world works in PAL After I have activatet the Ceatcode 0x06! The same in Tekken 3! But Tekken 3 has some flickering issues.... despite the cheat codes 0x04 0x07 or the alternative of 0x04 what can I do? ALl Ridge Racer games and Tony HAwk games have the texture Problems....its always the same despite activatet texture cheat codes... Gran Turismo there are missing textures in cards it looks all black/grew... NFS 3 works with some cheatcodes i can drive without texture bug or glitches but the music doesn't work despit e the 0x01/ 0x03 or 0x02 cheatcodes i have tried them all but it doesn't help... very sad. The other NFS Partsar eworking ok. Final Fantasy 7 doesn't really run well in Fights i only see black screen only see commands for fight etc. Final Fantasy 8 after the first intro when you went out of the hospital with Quistis it frezzes... Are there any solution for that?

One way is to find out on the Internet if any custom patch has been published by the community that fixes these issues for that PS1 game. For example, Hugopocked has published a compressed file on the Internet to improve Tekken 3 gameplay using the POPStarter emulator. I have tested Hugopocked's configuration on my PS2 using the USA version from Tekken 3, and I can assure you that it works great. I really like to give a big acknowledgement to "El_Patas", and to all users that have been cooperating to achieve this goal by reporting issues and solutions to make this game playable. 2. The second way is to use DKWDRV, a PS1 optical disk emulator that has been demonstrated by some users that some games work fine versus POPStarter. However, DKWDRV 1.7.5 is not compatible with CDDA games (Compact Disc Digital Audio), I mean, games that rely on 2 or more BIN files. For example, the 1st Rayman game. If you want to download DKWDRV 1.7.5, go to Github's public repository from "DKWDRV / DKWDRV". Then, follow the official documentation to make it work on your PS2. If you want to play Tekken 3 on your PS2 with POPStarter, here is an explanation on how to resolve your issue. ////// WARNING!! The following steps are explained assuming that you have already booted Tekken 3 on POPStarter, even if it's not running correctly. ////// 1. Search on Google for the thread published by "Hugopocked" on psx-place.com called "hugopocked Fixes for Popstarter". Once you find it, click on it. 2. Next, click on the URL for "Tekken 3 improved fix 31/01/2024". The URL should be located below this title. 3. Download the compressed file. 4. With "7-ZIP" or any other file archiver you have installed on your PC, unzip it by selecting that file > Right Click with your mouse > 7-zip > "Extract Files..." > select extraction's path > OK. 5. Boot OPL from uLaunchELF by going to "mc0:/boot/OPNPS2LD.ELF" if your FreeMCBoot Memory Card is located in the 1st slot or "mc1:/boot/OPNPS2LD.ELF" if it is located in the 2nd one. 14. Hola, @@josephbenavides576 Activision ha establecido que el idioma de los juegos se ajuste automáticamente de acuerdo con la identificación de la región del disco ( 💿 esto aplica solo en formato físico 💿) y la ubicación e idioma configurados en nuestra consola una vez instalado el juego. Si el juego lo has comprado en España, como digo en el minuto 1:10: puede que te aparezca en italiano si el idioma y región de tu consola no va acorde al idioma del juego. No obstante, como muestro en el minuto 2:06 de este vídeo, juegos como Warzone, MW2 y MW3: es posible modificar el idioma dentro del propio juego. Como cambiar el idioma en estos juegos: -- CoD World War 2: Seguir los pasos del vídeo: 1:32 -- CoD Warzone: Seguir los pasos del vídeo: 2:06 --CoD MW2 y CoD MW3: 1-> Inicia y accede al juego. 2-> Pulsa el botón ‘Menú’ del mando de XBOX o ‘Options’ del mando de PlayStation. 3 -> Pulsa 4 veces la flecha derecha de tu mando para ir a: ‘Ajustes’. 4 -> Entra en la 5a opción llamada ‘Interfaz’. 5 -> En el apartado ‘Legibilidad’, marcamos “Selección de idioma” para escoger el que más te guste. Hi, @laurentiuilina4992, You’re correct! On the OPL 10 anniversary edition, there is an option called ‘PS1 Games display mode’ which makes it much easier to play PS1 games compared to OPL 1.1.0. If I’m not mistaken, OPL 10 Anniversary versions are based on Beta Releases (that’s why they are tagged as ‘Daily Build’), and they are not considered official OPL versions. That's why I decided to opt for OPL v1.1.0, as it is an official and stable release. Its goal is to be released on the Internet to fix problems found in previous beta versions and, if possible, bring new functionalities like MX4SIO support. They require an ELF file to invoke the PS1 game in digital format (VCD file) to make the game playable. In other words: VCD file = PS1 game in digital format using a POPStarter compatible format. ELF File = The main component shown on OPL to invoke the “VCD” file to make the game playable. The syntax for the VCD file is as follows: VCD's ID.gametitle.vcd (the syntax is case-sensitive). Despite this, there is one possible but challenging way to solve this problem, but it will require further Internet research, IT programming skills, a lot of patience, and a significant amount of time. I’m quite sure there are C# or Python scripts on GitHub that read PS1 BIN/CUE files or ISO files and retrieve the Serial Numbers / VCD’s ID from those games. This also includes a way of automation when converting from BIN/CUE to VCD. I highly recommend using Artificial Intelligence tools like ChatGPT or Microsoft Bing Chat to make your script creation faster. Furthermore, I’m sure there are Internet webpages and public databases offering this info, and the possibility to download game covers too. For example, there is the API (Application Programing Interface) from TheGamesDB. From here, that script should perform every step from this video until you need to plug it into your PS2. @mathiaskristensen31, your idea is awesome, but it will require hard work to automate this process. How do you exit to the opl menu? When I try to use the usual IGR path code combination, it instead brings me to a text in Japanese and talks about Playstation BB. What is this and is there a way to fix this?

In some FreeMCBoot pre-installation versions, exiting a PS1 game using the "Terminate POPS" cheat code returns directly to uLaunchELF, while using "Open the IGR" displays a PlayStation Broadband Navigator message (also mentioned as BB Navigator or PSBBN). The PlayStation BB is a File Explorer Browser designed to be used on the PS2 HDD External Unit. This product was exclusively for Japanese PS2 consoles, which is why the displayed text is only in Japanese. The PlayStation BB is similar to a dock station (an external hardware device that increases the number of ports that can be connected to a PC) for the PS2. To exit a game from POPSstarter directly to OPL , you can try one of these two configurations: ---- 1. Rename the OPL ELF file to "BOOT.ELF" to redirect IGR to your OPL. 2. Create a Launch Key with Free MCBoot Configurator (recommended). --- /////// WARNING! The following steps have not been tested by me. I highly recommend reading them carefully and researching on the Internet if you have any doubts. ////// Regardless of which configuration suits your needs, it is mandatory to follow these steps as long as your POPSTARTER version is BETA 13 (the last available version): 1. Based on the '[POPSTARTER OPL] How to exit from POPStarter and return to OPL?' article from ps2-home, download 'PATCH_9.7z' from that website. This compressed file contains a ".BIN" file that allows us to proceed with this process. 2. PS1 games using POPStarter on USB, SMB or HDD should not give you lag on FMVs as long as the game is compatible with POPSTARTER, and has been proved that it is required or not the use of CHEATS to make it playable. What games are you playing that have lag on FMVs? Are them PAL or NTSC? I highly recommend to take a look at the POPStarter 13 Compatibility List (Link in the description), check if the game is fully compatible, and read the "Comments" box to read if there is something interesting to know. I'm unable to make it work via SMB on OPL official versions and when running POPStarter via wLE unlike on OPL DB versions (which I no longer use) since I always have an error (it always says: "Connecting to smb... LOGON has failed (0).") and I was told some PS1 games lag when ran via USB. Best regards.

This improvement could be due to various demands from the users and the development team involved in programming this PS2 homebrew. Regarding your error “Connecting to smb… LOGON has failed (0)”, it could be due to the following reasons: 1 - SMBv1 might not be activated on your PC. Check if it’s activated using PowerShell with this command: ‘Get-SmbServerConfiguration | Select EnableSMB1Protocol’. If it returns ‘True’, SMBv1 is activated. If it returns ‘False’, it’s not activated. 2 - The SMB shared folder might not be visible to the PS2. Ensure that the network folder can be seen by another PC on the same LAN to verify that your computer’s firewall isn’t blocking it. Have you turned on ‘Network Discovery’ in “Advanced Sharing Settings”? 3 - Verify if your PS2 has a correct IP address pattern. Have you tried to PING from your PC to your PS2 and received a response? 4- Verify if your PS1 game is compatible with SMB on the ‘POPStarter 13 Compatibility List’ (Link in the description) Speaking about lag in PS1 games via USB, it could be to several characteristics: 1- The game might not have been transformed to VCD correctly, or the file used could be corrupted in some sectors. 2 - A low-speed USB Flash Drive might have been used. SMBv1 is enabled in my PC and the SMB shared folder is visible to the PS2. I'm using OPL 1.2.0 Beta 2070. I don't recall a file called "conf_apps.cfg" (I no longer use POPStarter). Is it for running apps from OPL (in this case POPStarter)? Anyway, I also have this error when running PS1 ELFs from wLE and I followed Shaolin Assassin's quickstart-smb guide. Best regards.

To Ping from your PC to your PS2, you can use CMD (on Windows) or Terminal (MAC OS and Linux) and execute this command: 'ping <IP_Assigned_to_PS2>' If you have response from your PS2, that means it can communicate with your LAN. Remember, “Connecting to smb… LOGON has failed (0)” it is not a problem where POPSTARTER is involved. This error means that OPL is not able to communicate with your SMB server or cannot find the shared folder. Based on what I understood from your setup, might be because two main reasons: - PS1 digital format games won't boot on your PS2 if POPStarter is not involved. Even if you run it from wLE or OPL, it requires this emulator to make them playable. - The “conf_apps.cfg” file is mandatory to display your games on OPL 1.1.0 Stable version, as it indicates where the “.ELF” file for a specific game is located. However, in OPL 1.2.0, this file is no longer required as it will show the VCD file on OPL without any need for an ELF file or the “conf_apps.cfg” file setup. My video explains how to make the correct syntax for each game. I highly recommend to follow this guide for more assistance. Connect your USB Flash Drive to your PC. 2. Download OPL_Manager.exe to your PC and open the executable file. 3. Once opened, choose your language from the 'ComboBox' and press "Save". 4. Choose whether to enable automatic updates (activate check-box) or not (deactivate it) and press "Save". 5. In "Normal Settings," declare the path of the USB Flash Drive containing the main "POPS" directory under "Path." 6. Verify that "Normal" is activated in the "Mode" section. Finally, press "Save." If no messages complain about missing folders, OPL's file structure is already created. Otherwise, follow these steps: -- Press the "Accept" button to create a new OPL file structure. -- Press "YES" to create ART/CFG/CD/DVD folders, and wait until "VCD's" files are detected in the "POPS" folder. If "VCD's" files are correctly detected, press "Accept" to close that dialog message. If there are still "VCD's" files with incorrect syntax, follow these steps: -- Select the game you want to fix syntax from "Bad ISO's," and press "Batch Convert VCD Naming." -- Next, choose the external storage device that will read the VCD file, USB, HDD, or SMB. -- Press "Start" to correct the syntax of that file. Here, ‘mass’ refers to the USB Device. REMEMBER! ‘gametitle’ must be the same as the “VCD” and game cover files. Furthermore, “conf_apps.cfg” must have that exact name too when it is mentioned in this file. 4. Save Changes and Exit. 5. Unplug your USB Flash Drive from your PC and plug it into your PS2. 6. Turn on the PS2. If you modified the “conf_apps.cfg” file, - Go to uLaunchELF. - Next, go to “mass:” and copy “conf_apps.cfg”, then paste it into “mc0:/OPL” (if your PS2 Memory Card is located in the 1st slot) or “mc1:/OPL” (if it is located in the 2nd slot). @@Cookieman-nn3iwGreat tip. 👍 Also try changing the file name in the usb of the actual game, it needs it's Game ID at the beginning and then it can't be too long! I nearly gave up. Well I did as it was 3.30 Am but I woke up the next morning and boom it worked when I changed the file name. Delighted. Ha😅😅

Based on the Official POPStarter 13 Compatibility List (Link in the Description), Final Fantasy 8 is not compatible with this emulator via USB or HDD, neither the NTSC (American Version) nor the PAL (European Version). Hi, @bacotankim9832. I have never tested either Fortuna or Funtuna, so I cannot verify if these steps will work with this type of PS2 homebrew. If you have a PS2 Fat Model or a PS2 Slim SCPH-70000, it is highly recommended to use FreeMCBoot instead. If you have a PS2 Slim SCPH-90000, you will have to use one of these two-alternative software. I've done some research, and I'm quite sure both are compatible with OPL 1.1.0. Dado que el disco está vinculado a la identificación de la región, es poco probable que puedas cambiar el idioma en el que deseas jugar, incluso si sigues los pasos de este vídeo. Otra solución sería adquirir el juego en formato digital o comprar una copia física de primera o segunda mano en España. Sin embargo, entiendo claramente que esta no es una solución agradable para aquellos que ya han pagado por el juego. Saludos.
Hola! Yo ya tenía el idioma del ps4 en español España, soy de Mexico , lo había cambiado así por otro juego para que igual se cambiara en español, me compré el juego en fisico pero me sale todo en inglés, ya intente cambiando de idioma a latino y luego otra vez viceversa y sigue en inglés:(
