@HojoOSanagi Oh, you must have misunderstood what I meant. At :55, It seemed he wanted the crowd to start what they began doing at 2:20, I didn't mean sing along as in sing along, rather chant the "chorus". Part of my reasoning was him becking them on.
@gsruler Why would he ever expect a Dutch audience to sing along to a Norwegian song sung at such a fast tempo and in an unusual dialect? I think a lot of Norwegians would have trouble singing along to this song, let alone a Nederlander.
I bet at the very beginning (00:55) he was hoping the entire crowd would start singing, but when they didn't, he handled it very well, great showmanship. At least, that is what I think.
I´m german, living in germany. I do know can and all my friends know can too. some years ago i had the chance to jam with damo and usual insanity in Neuss. thx damo. that was a great experience!
I remember at the time of the MUTE RECORDS reissues of the Can albums around 1990, Kurt Loder plugged those on MTV. For once MTV got a real taste of ALTERNATIVE!
I'm German and I know (and love) Can since TAGO MAGO. But we all have to accept that bands like Can never will attract a greater audience. Have e.g. PeterHammill/VdGG or Caravan the deserved popularity at home in the UK ?
