I'm the third of 8 children and growing up we didn't have a lot but we had each other and love and I'm all the better for it because I'm a friendly and outgoing person who enjoys the simple things in life. I also 4 of my own 3 sons and a daughter who I love very dearly and I am also blessed with 5 grandchildren.
I'm a big fan of country music and some of my favorite singers would be Dottie West, Jean Shepard, Conway Twitty, George Jones, Tammy Wynette and the list goes on lol but I love posting music on youtube and meeting lots of people like my friends on youtube.
Anyway if you ever have a request for a song don't hesitate to ask and I'll see if I have it.
There is a "skip" in this recording about 2:00 into the song. I met Dottie in 1975 after this was released. Since I'm from NC, I told her I was one of her "Carolina Cousins". She was very nice to me.
I don’t think this song had the recognition it deserved. Dottie was way ahead of the game here for the time. Then you listen to the bass/drums… pure funk feel.
This was always such a soul stirring song, but now that my husband is in Heaven.... The memories of him singing it, leaves me more breathless than ever.
Each time someone listens to Tammy sing this classic they will listen to it again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and on and on. It gets more beautiful to listen to each time. Thank you Tammy. RIP.
When country legend Johnny paycheck met Tammy Wynette Tammy was heartbroken after going through a breakup. Johnny Paycheck wrote apartment number 9 with Tammy Wynette in mind, what a great combination of talent that adorned the old Nashville!!
