Hello, my name is M.B. Dallocchio, and I'm the creator of this channel. Here, you'll find helpful videos about art and more. I started this channel so I would have a place to express myself and share what I've learned along the way in my own journey. Valuing self-expression and freedom to create, you can expect to see videos that educate, inspire, and empower others to create their own unique path.
I'm a Chamorro (Northern Mariana Islands) arts-based social worker and combat Veteran from Northern California - and now living in Florence, Italy. I often make use of mixed media to create my pieces, though I also enjoy traditional forms of media such as acrylic paint and pencils. Additionally, I have written several books over the course of my life so far.
So if you're looking for some helpful art tutorials or other creative content, be sure to subscribe to my channel! Thanks for watching!
I really wanted to get this information, but the background music was too much for me. It being there just rolling along was fine but then when it did the slide weird sound, I was surprised and had to turn it off after a few of them.
So glad to have found this video. My memoir is about trauma - mine and others and that intersection - and I've struggled with the completion. Thanks for sharing this advice getting through the process, and the outline!
I appreciate you! I'm looking forward to reading about your journey, and if there is anything I can do to help, let me know! You have such a powerful voice and your navigation skills through trauma are needed ❤️
@@MBDallocchio thank you so much. I have gotten to a stuck place because of emotions, but I'm ready to get back at it. I would love your input! I'll send a message. :😀💙❤
Thanks so much for watching! I felt the same for years, and I definitely prefer to have some sort of outline to work with throughout the process. Let me know if there is any other writing content you'd like to see 😊
Thanks for putting together such a resourceful video! What do you feel about the market acceptability of writing therapy? If I plan to pursue expressive writing professionally and turn it into a coaching practice, does the audience have any acceptability as of yet?
M, As usual, I am not surprised at your creative endeavors- you are AND SHOULD BE a Role Model for Persistence, Healthy Self Talk-Affirmations for communities marginalized Everywhere. Wish we could expand the dissemination of this video and your other work (painting, Novels etc). This issue should be of Great Concern to your audiences and especially those impacted by bigotry, prejudice and gender discrimination. The USAF use to (surely it still exists, but I’m not certain it does) have a Program called AFCOMAP (Air Force Cadet Mentoring Action Program). It was not, regardless of its nomenclature; Only for Cadets. This program got a ‘leg up’ at Peterson AFB, CO. When I was working at The HQ AFSC; I was the VP and then President of our Organization. As a Capt (at that time), we had the ear of our Four Star and our direct Officer in Charge, was a Two Star. The marginalization is Real and successfully oppressive. Our Plan was to educate SPACE COMMAND (seven wings) and our efforts were effective; and successful ONE Mentoree/Mentor at a time. Myself and another Jr Officer or Company Grade Officer created our own Mentor Handbook (it still needed some editing). Sadly we were not able to get it published before PCS-ing. There is another USAF Program called JOLDS (Jr Officer Leadership Development Seminars). If they are still ‘alive and well’, I think both your books should be mandatory reading- your books would offer both Realism and Encouragement to ALL New Jr Officers; perhaps providing a template for their careers and Encouraging them NOT TO GIVE Up! We had a few USA officers Crash our seminars and I know they felt the information was timely and relevant. We had Speakers, sometimes at both AFCOMAP & JOLDS. USAF Personnel/HR supported JOLDS going on the road and every year we hit as many CONUS AFB as possible. We had one at The USAF Academy annually and invited Jr Officers from all CONUS bases (we did about one a year overseas with our NATO Partners). JOLDS would also be a Great Place for you to be a Speaker and discuss CONCERNS and the Real Life Experience of our Jr Officers; AND REMEDIES to the above current issues. We should NOT even NEED PROGRAMS such as this! We can ONLY BE STRONGER; as we add more diversity in our military forces. If we were more Inclusive - we could HOPE to Mirror the External Population -as they combat the SAME Problems in the civilian population and give THEM a leg up with their own credibility problems (Does White Entitlement exist?!). If it didn’t exist we also wouldn’t require a MEO Office (Military Equal Opportunity - like Civilian EEO Offices). YOU are A FORCE, that can ONLY assist and forge forward eliminating the struggle for Minorities and Women everywhere; but The FORCE needs more momentum and bodies carrying that same message- That WOMEN AND MINORITIES WILL NOT GIVE UP. Good luck!
I truly appreciate your kind and encouraging words as always 💜 Have you considered publishing that mentor book elsewhere? I'm sure that would make for amazing guidance! You have made this journey far more light and wonderful, even thousands of miles away and know that any time you are ever out in this direction, you are always welcome ❤❤❤
I'm going to share this with people in my veteran art email distribution. Very well done and I know that it will encourage veterans who feel the same way.
I absolutely enjoyed your video. I have been working with my therapist and she has suggested that I write. And I have now learned the term for the type of writing. I find it hard to consistently write. But I think I am going to begin with starting a time window where I can write and just free write what comes to mind. Try to learn about myself better. Thank you for the information in this video
I started yesterday. My goodness, what comes out mostly is feeling totally spent after those 15 mins. Meaning a lot has been released. Thank you for sharing this!!
