Well at least I know what to expect. I've been looking for a new job seeing how being a backstocker for my local bed bath & beyond is really not worth it.
Does being a sales associate mean you have to talk a lot because of every customer and you employees who you work with. In other words does your job require you to talk more than normal
Such as? I’ve been working retail for the past 4 years, I haven’t learned anything that I could actually add to my skill set, ESPECIALLY with the career paths I’m interested in.

Loss Prevention is far more fun and interesting of a job than security guard jobs. You can investigate organized retail crime, fraud, and regular larceny. And work with not just police, but FBI as well since they commonly rely on Loss Prevention for assistance in catching people for fraud and shoplifting rings. It's a pretty neat job actually. We also have market investigators which are the highest level of Loss Prevention. They are private investigators that actually track down thieves and locate illegal shoplifting ring stores so FBI and regular local police can raid them and seize all of the merchandise.
I work at Walmart loss prevention and u can see one third of the way in the changing room from above from the cameras, that how we cought alot of thieves!
Lier!! You do know a lot of people who actually do work are Walmart loss prevention will read this and no you are lieing. Walmart would get shut down so fast if that were true. They could get by with man handling a thieves but not for putting cameras anywhere near a dressing room inside
I call BS. They don't even allow cameras near those areas. I've worked in the field. We have inspectors that make sure businesses are compliant with law.

I work in loss prevention for a large retailer in the mid west. This isnt the most common (the most common is whoever your largest customer demographic is) but I see this at least once a month in the fall and spring. It still happens
It was faked, it was just to show the audience a sample of what loss prevention does. Thieves in reality are a lot trickier to catch than that. That's why they have undercover LP.
Fuentes...what are you talking about? A Loss Prevention Officer is the one that detains shoplifters to include using force. Most times a Security Guard working retail is only there to observe and report and is not allowed per policy to touch anybody. Security Guards at other types of "posts" may have in their post directives the ability to detain folks for other crimes. In regards to shoplifting it is rare that a Security Guard goes "Hands On" with a shoplifter or even attempt to detain one...that is left to Loss Prevention Officers or Asset Protection folks!
Security and Loss Prevention are completely different titles. Security officers enforce rules and maintain public safety. Loss Prevention are store detectives that investigate and hunt down organized retail crime, fraud, and larcenists. People commonly confuse them, but their functions are very different.
Loss prevention and security guards are two different fields. One observes and reports crimes, and deters crime through a uniformed presence. The other goes undercover and intercepts shoplifters, investigates return fraud, and fires internal employees for theft.
