If your wondering how to properly maintain your Harley-Davidson roadking you have come to the right place we will show you how to’s riding videos and much more now let’s get riding!
Great video. When I do an oil change on my Road King I always start it in the afternoon after a ride. I let it drain all night. Really gets all the oil out. I put in 4 quarts as the manual says. I am always on full. Again great video!
I kinda think there's no air pressure in the crankcase, instead there's a bit of vacuum so to speak which is relieved upon taking out the fill cap. Just my opinion tho.
Great video. You are very thorough and meticulous. I like that. I also have a vivid black 2003 Road King. Many H-D mechanics believe the '03 models are some of Harley's best because they represent the company's 100 year milestone. Looks like a Snap-on ratchet also.
Make sure you check the oil while the bike is on its jiffy stand. In other words on the ground. No need to have a friend hold the bike up for you it's designed to be checked in it's normal position on the jiffy stand.
The motor is cold when you fill it with oil, I like to get it close but always under and I have an oil cooler so it takes more oil and then I go for a little ride To warm it up thoroughly and then let it sit for a few minutes and check it again and then get it up to the full mark . I’ve seen guys with their softtails that have been sitting for a couple months and they check it and add 3/4 quart and then when it warms up and expands they spew oil out of the cap all over and bad for the motor
You’re going to scratch your frame with that socket, just surprised me because you are so particular with every other detail as I am. I have the same bike , 95 “stage 3 with loud Vance & Hines 2 into 1 with 66,000 km. or 41,000 miles and rarely been ridden in rain , runs & looks brand new. I change the synthetic oils way before the recommended intervals and you should try Lemon Pledge polish on the whole bike and cars , it’s awesome and cheap and easy to apply and buff up. Good video bud
