Thanks been looking how to adjust belt . O bought a use DR 18hp has fatter more serpentine belt my belt seems good on top with straight edge yet still seems loose. When chipping bigger branches i think my centrifical clutch getting worn wont build back up to high RPM to quick. Is a bit slow. Sometimes when flywheel jams is good belt not to tight.
Dude! All I wanted to see is if you hold the bail back while starting, and your idiot camera person stood too close, just close enough I couldn’t see if the bail was engaged or not. Thanks for nothing.
I have plans to build the exact same blind this summer at my property deep in the woods. 9x11’ with a wood burning stove and flat screen tv. I’m excited to see your progress so I can learn from you. Good Luck!.
@Lens-KeepingBusy - cool idea with skids. Once we build ours, we've been committed to that location, whether we like it or not, lol.... Thanks for watching!
The lavender is doing great! We are in the 3rd season, and haven't lost any yet in the 6 rows. We did lose a few along the garden, but those were an experimental variety for us here in the upper Midwest. We did not mound our lavender, but our rows and gardens are on a slope and drain well. So far so good and thank you for asking. We have another lavender video due to come out soon to show progress.
Wonderful job! I love the drip edge! That’s such a great idea. I use bark for the bottom of mine. I call it my lazy way of not being fancy hahaha I also have mine 10 feet in diameter so I will put two round of straight ones and then all odd shaped ones in the middle like yours.
@lmac36 - great idea with the bark. We really love the look of these structures once built. At times it's hard to see them be disassembled to burn! Thanks for watching our channel.
Nice video. I have same unit. Nuances ... 1. For best belt life, be sure engine is rotated slightly in the slots to align the planes of both pulleys. Just tightening the adjustment bolt will cause planes to misalign 2. Tighten one bolt enough to hold engine in position to keep pulley planes aligned. Then partially tighten engine mount bolts in steps until tight. 3. Gently tighten the adjustment bolt to help keep engine in same position. 4. I'm considering adding an automotive belt tensioner.
burning wood is a natural thing for animals to be around and cheap its just a lot of work. your propane will fog your windows a wood burner won't and it won't make deer run.
Have a wood stove in my deer condo made from a 20# propane tank, 80 degrees can be normal with 3 minature logs. Blind is 6 by 10 feet with a 7ft barrel roof. Shot a beauty of an 8 point that laid down for 20 minute with smoke going right at it's face, never bothers them... Northern Michigan...
@matts7975 - thanks for watching the video. It would actually be really hard for it shatter. It's more like mirror-y plexiglass than anything else. It could be dropped on the ground without worrying as well.
I just saw this video and explains it all. It is made from Corflute (Coroplast in the US. fluted plastic is what they call it in the video). we call it corflute in Australia - typically used for advertising signs like a real estate sign. If you can find the adhesive plastic mirror material, it would be easy to make. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UVuNaT0FeJE.html
@alfheimregenerativefarm - thank you for watching. We also would like to compliment you on all the work you've done on your home and farm - very fun to watch the progress.
My wife is half-German and half-Norwegian so I was particularly intrigued by your video when I first watched it, 2 years ago. Since then, I have built 4 of them and am mostly done with a fifth one. One of my Holzhausen’s is made entirely of a large pine that fell down last winter during a storm. We use it for our fire pit. The other piles are 100% hardwood (mostly oak) and will eventually get moved to our woodshed, one stack per year; that way, we’re allowing plenty of time for the wood to season.
@shawnruddy6043 - The more I think about it, the deer probably smell wood burning smells coming from our home just a few hundred yards away. So not completely foreign to them.
Insulation is the answer, along with buddy heater. Proper venting is a must when using any type of flamed heat in a confined area. It will safe you fuel in the long run.
@aaronmelvin461 - great suggestion on the insulation. It definitely helped a lot - check out our other video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5gyjSaXrbM8.htmlsi=IIFeNmeyO6KxPWL0
Hello - thanks for watching our videos. I have to admit that it wasn't foolproof, but it did deter a number of the larger deer from entering. We did notice several fawns were able to get through, but that could have been a result of not having the fishing string close enough together.
If you can find the adhesive plastic film mirror surface, then it is only that stuck onto Corflute board (Coroplast in the US) which is typical sign making board. wouldn't be hard to make yourself depending on where you are and sourcing materials. Heck of a lot cheaper as Corflute gets used and thrown away, so should be easier to find.
I don't think that it's over kill at all because it's what you want to do. Who needs to be freezing when they can enjoy the comfort of warmth. My only recommendation ( not that you need it ) don't keep the propane tank on the inside.
Yeah - it's a bit rough with a walk-behind brushmower w/ 26" deck. We are saving for a skid steer with a brushmower implement. Should save me hours and stave off a heart attack 😜
I like this, but, wouldn't you agree that it would be better with an adjustable front wheel and the cutting head turned out 20 or so degrees so that could walk with it just as a lawn mower???
Was there a uncovering of the frost cloth video made…perhaps I’m not finding it?? Would love to see the results - hopefully they were good but from a learning standpoint I’d like to know the down side of any issues if any and what you make of it and what would or could be done differently if your were to cover again this fall 👍
@brijbirchauhan4677 - we have gotten this question a few times.....and we will see what we can do about doing a kitchen tour in a future video. Our cabin has a small, but functional kitchen (nothing too fancy) - Is there anything specific that is of interest that should be included?
