I’ve just got this lens and every time I film the background is doing the weird pulsing. I’ve tried looking online but can’t find anything about it. Do you have any idea what it could be?
They usually do periodic deals but I would imagine there will be something good at that time! Right now they have some specials on overstock, you might find what you need: shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=2525820&u=3729484&m=133509&urllink=&afftrack=
The low light ability of the Viltrox is awesome. I was pleasantly surprised at how the distortion seems minimal in close up portraits. Thanks for this video.
Easily the best webcam on the market right now for its quality at this price point. The Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra is higher quality but also 299 while this is around 120-140. I have seen the obsbot meet2 look better then the elgato facecam pro mk.2 look better out of the box and tuned in many scenarios. Love what the webcam market has been getting to recently.
Thanks for the kind words! True, there are no naked women involved. But, for the right person / people, there's tons of info to choose from and implement. Hope it helps you out!
Can you customize a film simulation selected on the dial ? If yes will the changes be permanent or will be reset as soon as you leave that simulation ?
You have 3 custom FS1, 2 and 3 settings. Once you register them it will save them. I didn't see a way to customize them, but I didn't attempt this so I can't give you a definitive answer here, sorry!
The X-T4 was designed to be both a traditional camera and a hybrid camera so I can imagine it suiting some people really well. It certainly represents a great value proposition now. Personally, I think Fujifilm made a really smart choice with more clearly separating the T ‘traditional’ and the H ‘hybrid’ lines. I love X-T5 for family, street and travel photography (sensor, dials and screen). But for wildlife photography, macro and video work the X-H2s is superb (fps, af speed, custom settings, grip). If I was on a budget the X-T4 could be a valuable middle ground between these two cameras.
I agree. I think separating the two lines was wise, but of course whatever you do someone is not going to be thrilled. If you’re a pro, having an xh2 as your main camera and an xt5 as a backup/all around camera could work well.
I am looking for a good bird photo camera. Currently, I use an X-T5/Fuji 100-400mm zoom. When this does well, it does pretty darn good. However, I find myself frustrated by the autofocus, especially in low light and when the subject is in front of a complex background. What's your opinion on switching to a GFX 100s ii with the Fuji 500 mm prime for bird photography? Virtually all my bird photography on the X-T5 is at full zoom, 400mm. Obviously, I can expect more detail with the GFX, but what about autofocus and a subject that tends to move a lot?
I think the autofocus will be about the same, maybe a bit better than the XT5. It's of course a massive upgrade in terms of image quality, but it's still not going to be as fast and snappy as a Canon or Sony. I did fall in love with the GFX 100S I when I tried it out - the images are sublime!
This lens is nothing less than amazing. I pair this lens with my XH2. The SOOC with film recipes are wonderful. I have no need for doing any major editing to the images. I wish Viltrox would produce more Pro lens such as this one and the 75mm. I would by them all. And I wish Viltrox would dare to produce a couple lens for the GFX line.
I'm with you my friend - the reception has been so good that I would guess they are planning to release more PRO lenses.... I for one would absolutely love a 35mm f/1.4, and a 50mm f/1 to rival my Fuji....
Great! I'm going to do more content relevant to photographers looking to grow their businesses and skills. You should check out my coaching group too: peter-coco.mykajabi.com/photo-group-landing-page-def8c4f5-bee3-4d86-b077-030751a95b9a
Awesome! I like the grip, I have one. it makes the camera substantially bigger and gives you 2 extra battery ports for a total of 3. You can leave the battery in the grip, which is very cool.
I use a bunch of lenses on my X-H2. Firmware 3.01 and 5.0 had terrible AF. I missed most of the shots of my new puppy because of that. I went back to firmware 2.01 and it's wayy better. I suspect the brand is slashing capital expenditures because phones are rapidly replacing cameras so all the AF engineers left the company
I have just purchased an R5 MK II and an R6 MK II in preparation for the 2028 total solar eclipse in Sydney. Do I really need battery grips? The answer lies in the possible loss of the opportunity to shoot during totality due to a weak battery. I would rather gamble on the cost of the grips than risk the loss of the opportunity to shoot during totality because my battery went out on my R5 or R6.
I like the 13mm more for human portrait compare to my 56mm since it give me equal image of what I see on the mirror, but only if take it close to the object. That is why for video, I really love the way I look with this lens. I only got the 56mm recently just for object portrait like animal to not intimidated them.
Great video Pete. Are all the settings that you made saved to C1? I'm a little unclear what settings are saved to C1 and which are not. Once setting are setup do you have to press a save button to save to a custom preset (C1, C2..) Thanks for all your effort.
Thanks! Yes you can def set this to a C setting - I have 1 with these settings, but then others with slightly different parameters - like one for studio shooting, one for outdoor daylight, etc.
Wouldn’t be nice if your video camera is focusing also in both cameras and also your face in the same time rather just your face. This video should be called Focusing only on me and not the cameras because my face is the subject of the review. I like your channel because you do explain things better than other RU-vidrs but you should know better when it comes focusing subjects. It should be all in focus everything in front or centre. 👍
Ok so this is a very fair criticism and I’ve been thinking about it tbh. I’m gonna change that going forward - thanks for the kind critique. People usually just leave me a nasty comment but I appreciate it when someone gives me constructive criticism! 🙏
The main purpose of the film sim dial is to help identify which reviewers are shills or at best compromised. None of them like or use the dial and you can instantly dismiss any following opinion they own if they don't immediately dismiss it as absurd...
I found a used condition one for $225! It is such an amazing lens. Perfect all-rounder lens that can basically do it all. Some complain about the size but honestly, after holding it for a little while, it is not as bad as people think especially if you use it on the X-H or X-T bodies. I’ve been recently thinking of getting a 35 prime for that “nifty-fifty”, but I feel that most lenses aren’t anywhere close to the quality of this lens over the whole aperture range.
@@PeteCocoPhoto I'm glad it's worked for you but there are some fundamental basic issues. Top LCD screen is too dark and no way of changing it. Camera has a pathetic sound which I couldn't shoot with all day, but turn it off and you don't even know if you've taken a picture. No easy way to move. No easy way to move between Ai servo and one shot. You can't set the SET button to review images. Canon have been mislead by Sony.
Thanks for doing these videos Pete! I’ve been looking into the Fuji cameras lately and this looks like a really nice, fun and capable camera. Looking to get a Fuji as my ‘all-day walk around’ camera and also to have something lighter to take with me on my flying trips ✈️ 👨✈️ Any thoughts about choosing this over the X100VI/V ? Keep these videos coming… enjoying them a lot (and I’m not even a Fuji shooter (yet 😊) )
Thanks, Peter! Glad you are enjoying the vids! The X100VI is awesome, it just boils down to whether you will miss having the ability to change lenses. If you are looking to keep things as compact as possible though, that is definitely the way to go.
Maybe strange for some of you - I'm still used for critical important shots "oldie but goldie" nikon's DLSR's d750 and d850. Fuji's AF is not near old "3d tracking" of those. Using X100V and XT4 as "B" cameras I'm quite happy - but, for now, refuse to "switch" from FF to Fuji X, as professional system. Too high risk in many situations - shooting mostly political/economical events
I wanted to wait for an E5 or xpro4 rangefinder bodies but I finally bought it and it is the only camera I feel attracted to like a magnet. The x100vi is barely used and the a7cr as compact and good as it is feels like a massive boring brick to me
I have an H2s & XT5, both since they launched. I have shot an XT3 previously and 5DMKII. I find myself not liking something about the xt5 and I can't put my finger on it. there is something just off. I've been thinking about trading it in for either an XH2 or a used GFX. Any thoughts?
Not sure. I love my X-T5 but finding the right camera for you is important. Could be the size? I had an h2s for review and absolutely loved the ergonomics.
The flip screen is the MAJOR perhaps only reason why i didnt and wouldnt consider XT5. I like to close the DOOR and protect the screen. I am no vlogger, but dont want to keep worrying about the screen getting damaged with my handling of the camera while I am out and about. :D :D
