I was once more inclined to think that Shilton was not to blame because the scorer cheated. You needed to cut him a lot of slack. But as Venables says it was his ball the whole time. That said Hodge's clearance must be the worst in football history...
Peter Shilton was absolute rubbish. He was rubbish again in 1990 getting lobbed from inside his own 6 yard box. No wonder Shilton keeps banging on about the Hand of God..he was totally showed up.

@OhJonahII hi, RU-vid blocked a section analysing the 2nd goal. Maybe FIFA have some specific copyright over that goal?? Greedy criminals. But at least they have let play in the outro
Barry McQuigan lost that match against Steve Cruz and only fought four more fights. All back when Boxing was available for all to watch. England were awful in this tournament until the Poland game and Lineker was unlucky to miss that header that would have made it 2-2.
me 6 years old watching that game made me wear a black shorts and a blue t-shirt the whole summer ... I can't remember everything but that I adored Maradona to the bones.
