Lol im half way through and had to pause. Im viewing on my phone while i wait for two ZT clones to arrive ,which they just pulled up haha. Like today Ive been pleased to get what appears upon initial impression and light branch cuts two good blades for a decent price and i wont be afraid to strip the scales off eventually and do some mods to put my touch into them. Great video so far, now back to it, had to play with the swords for a bit haha: edit i forgot, the edge from what i could tell on yours is meant to be one that can take more abuse with less damage rather than a finer sharper edge for precision slicing. Cheers now back to it
Ive been really into buhurt videos recently and it seems like something I'd like to check out/try in person. I live between Altoona and State College so I'm like 2 hours from Pittsburgh. There doesn't seem to be any groups in my area. How often do you guys have practice/events?
As written I am in camp "No" since there are technically three points touching despite two being the same limb. It's rules lawyering though. This is a safety rule mainly, so you don't just pile on and wreck someone who has lost control and is unable to defend fully - so... I would personally write the rule as "three - limbs - touching ground." because here is a perfect example that you are fully in control and clearly are able to safely defend yourself.
Thanks for that, I will have to double check the girth. Seems like we usually always get it to the same holes. But I'll go over it with her. Appreciate the feedback!!
I would score this as an argument amongst points counters and the marshals, lol. However my take would be that is wasn't a resting action and was a valid strike.
@O.LEO.N I'd have to measure it, it's been a while. But it's at least the minimum. It's the hardest hit I ever took to my body with a really small axe head
Good explanation, sometimes I think people can take energy conservation to a detrimental extreme hence with resting their sword on a shoulder. Also I'm off to another tournament. Just fixed my greatsword and my buckler. The Last tournament was awful on my gear, also jumping back into longsword at this one since they still had room.
Awesome! Good luck at the tournament 😀!! Speaking of that, energy conservation, I should make a short video explaining some other ways. What happened to your greatsword??
@@BachataKnight i took a bunch of hits to the grip of the sword, it got torn up pretty bad. Had to completely give it a good rewrapping. When they inspect weapons they're getting a little bit more critical on if you don't maintain the grips of your weapons here.
I just noticed your shirt. I’m a member of sca and am going to pennsic at the end of this month for the whole two weeks. Btw the sword looks pretty cool. And very reasonable price too.
No. I can tell I'm being hit in some places more than others. Like my hands and hips. When it's full force, yeah it can hurt a lot at times. Longsword, aside from Polearm, really beats you up. It's never been so bad that I wouldn't do it, however.
@@BachataKnight I don't get the point then. If you were in HEMA, you can use longsword but that is because you are simulating unarmored combat and you win based on points. But in armored combat you simply cannot down a man with a sword without stabbing the gaps or bashing, so what is the goal? Just exercise I suppose right? You are just wacking each other over and over again. This is why you should be using axes or hammers.
@@dawnbreakerii204If you use an axe or warhammer then you will get hurt. In real medieval history those were considered “anti-armor” weapons. Their point of balance is right at the end, so when you swing them they pivot with so much force that that they have the potential to dent the armor and possibly break bone. If you were unlucky enough to be hit on the head then you would likely be concussed.
@dawnbreakerii204 it's judged on who landed the most successful sword strikes. I am a firm believer of throwing strikes the entire time. If my opponent throws 30 strikes in 60 seconds, they need to be 100% accurate. If I throw 100 strikes in 60 seconds, I only need go be 31% accurate.
@dawnbreakerii204 it's definitely not as good as HEMA or Harnisfechten as far as stabbing to win. But I also don't really like to just score a kill shot and that's the end. I prefer the armor and cumulative beatings lol
The sport would probably be better off if only plate visors were allowed, but the cat is out of the bag and banning bargrill style visors would cause an uproar.
Na as an american dude would have pulled out a flintlock and said i cast elder glock and would have pulled out a patatoe gun and yell now i cast magic fucking missle
